Jump Start Review & 3 Month Free Membership Giveaway

Growing up with a dad that was into computers made my life very different then some. When I would receive my spelling list he would put them into a fun computer game that had helicopters that you picked up the letters to spell the words. Yes I remember it to this day! I know kids and computer can be a big discussion between parents. Coming from the background I did I love interactive games that teach, not the kind that some use as a babysitter and have no value at all. Now being on the Internet with kids is always scary, but you have to love sites that take the time and make this a high priority to keep our kids safe! One of the amazing sites I found was JumpStart 3D Virtual World they make learning fun and painless (yup all the moms are shaking their heads yes right now). Plus they have an amazing blog for parents that can help answer questions and let you be part of this amazing world!

As some of you know Cole is about to go into to Kindergarten an I'm always on the hunt to help him be in the top of his class. When I found JumpStart 3D Virtual World I was so excited. I have a boy so getting him to sit and do anything is a chore! So when I find something that he actually will sit down, let alone he loves it and I mean really really loves it!

I downloaded this and Cole couldn't wait for me to move out of the way, he actually did push me out of the way when it was downloading! I don't have the speakers hooked up so I gave him my headphones I use for work and he thought he was a big boy. He actually told me that he didn't need me and I could go and take care of Caden he had this ... LOL. I came back a few minutes later and he really did have it figured out. I was trying to read the rules and how to do it and he looked at me with that lovely look (you know mom has a 3rd eye) and said mom you just go her click and do this ! I was so proud of my 5 year old, he is getting to be so smart.

The first fun thing was he got to make his own Avatar, he picked out the clothes, hair, teeth everything! He loved planting the flowers and taking the water bucket to water them, and when he found the water slide I could barely get him off the after that. What impressed me was how easy it was for him to figure out and how they made learning fun. It had math and just skills that he will need this coming year. To get him off the computer I had to strike a deal that he could play it again as soon as we got home. That is what I call learning at it's best!

For more than 15 years, Knowledge Adventure has set the standard in children’s software by creating the finest educational products for use in the home and the classroom. In addition to our CD games, we’ve launched a beta version of our first browser-based virtual world at www.JumpStart.com for kids 3-10 years old . Kids can create avatars called Jumpeez for themselves and explore magical worlds, discovering and unlocking games, videos, and storybooks that help them practice essential skills from math to reading. Over the next year, we will continue to add more features, portals, and learning games to this site. I encourage you to check it out at www.JumpStart.com.
Some fun things to check out:
There are many places to explore once you launch the game, some of which you may have seen already. The first is an area called Storyland, which is aimed at 3-5 year olds. Just this last March we launched another area, called AdventureLand, for kids in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Soon we will launch a third world called Future Land for kids from 3rd to 5th grade.

  5. I love jump start!! We have a very old computer that we gave to our 3 (almost 4) year old but didnt have much to put on it for her age. I looked around and garage sales and goodwill stores to find games that didnt reqire alot of memory or a fast processor and age appropriate for her. I found this spring a verson of kindergarden jump start that still runs on windows 95! my daughter is so hooked! I love the new version, thank you for sharing!! I just imagined this company was a 90's fad and was long gone by now. I love how they keep the children captivated and learning letters, numbers, counting and math. I would love to see what else they have for my little bug!
