Tempt My Tummy ~ Dad's Casserole

Blessed with Grace

This one was so simple but I of course had to mix it up. My moto is use what you have in the house and make the recipe fit you, not the other way around. So instead of egg noodles I used what I had on hand! Very easy and so yummy.

Ingredients
8 ounces egg noodles or wide egg noodles
1 lb ground beef
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar
16 ounces tomato sauce
1 cup sour cream
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
6 green onions, minced
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated

Directions
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Spray 2-3 quart casserole with non-stick cooking spray.
3. Cook noodles as directed on package.
4. Brown beef with garlic until cooked through.
5. Drain.
6. Add salt, sugar and tomato sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
7. Combine sour cream, cream cheese and onion.
8. Layer 1/2 of the noodles then 1/2 of the meat mixture in casserole dish.
9. Spead with sour cream mixture.
10. Top with remaining noodles and the tomato sauce.
11. Bake for 30 minutes.
12. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and bake for another 5 minutes.
13. ENJOY!

  2. Hubs might actually eat this!

I made meatloaf for the first time last week. Now mind you, I'm not a terrible cook...it didn't look particularly wonderful but tasted fine. He refused to eat it. Wouldn't even let me feed it to the dog. Dumped it right into the garabage he did and even questioned my feeding it our daughter...who loved it by the way...

  11. Sounds really good, and includes stuff that I usually have in the house. I'm sure Bill would like this, and I know Nano would love the ground beef. :-)
Thanks for posting this and thanks to Bekah for passing it on.
