Thursday DVD Review ~ Just A few

Crazy on the Outside
Now this movie won't win any awards but it really was cute and how doesn't love Tim Allen. Going back to his bad boy routes you see him just getting out of prison. Sigourney Weaver played a great sister I really loved her in this sweet role and a bit of humor I don't see that often from her. Ray Liotta of course was the typical mob dude, but you love to hate him. One I won't buy but it was a good date night movie both guys and gals would like it. A little humor does us good!

Prison lasted three years, but making good with family is a life sentence for ex-con Tommy (Tim Allen), who comes home to an eccentric sister (Sigourney Weaver), a skeptical brother-in-law (J.K. Simmons) and a grandmother who thinks he's been on leave in France. Ready to turn over a new leaf, Tommy winds up flipping burgers and falling for his parole officer, Angela (Jeanne Tripplehorn), all the while fending off his scheming buddy (Ray Liotta).

(500) Days of Summer
I really wanted to like this one, I love Joseph Gordon-Levitt from 10 things I hate about you and Zoeey Deschanel is always great. I really did try but after about 40 minutes I just couldn't take it any longer the movie was just dragged on and had no plot. Sorry really I tried.

The Living Sea: IMAX
The boys just love thes IMAX films they are so pretty and you can learn at the same time. I so want to go scuba diving! Beautiful!

Meryl Streep narrates this Oscar-nominated documentary, which explores the world's oceans, traveling to Palau, Hawaii, California, Oregon, Alaska, Nova Scotia and the Red Sea. Celebrating the vast variety of life and activity found in the exotic depths, The Living Sea takes viewers face to face with creatures such as humpback whales, golden jellyfish and giant clams, illuminating the deep's mysteries with stunning cinematography.

Whale Wars: Season 1
I thought Cole would love this about Whales not so much I did watch it a few times and thought it was a great documentary. If you love Whales you'll love to watch this one. My dad was part of Greenpeace and Whale watching when I was young so I of course liked it.

Greenpeace co-founder Paul Watson leads a motley crew of self-styled "eco-pirates" -- known as the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society -- on a high-seas mission to end illegal whale hunting in this exhilarating Animal Planet series. The gang's three-month voyage takes them to the frigid waters of the Antarctic, where they encounter plenty of life-threatening drama as they fight to prevent Japanese ships from slaughtering the majestic sea mammals.

Shark Week: 20th Anniversary
Cole's loving sharks and the discovery channel so I instant downloaded it on the Netflix. It was a great collection of documentaries, very interesting!

Churning with great white encounters, unbelievable survival stories, jaw-dropping underwater footage, arresting facts and thrilling rescues, this collection features 14 of the most exciting episodes from Discovery Channel's "Shark Week" series. The set marks the program's 20th anniversary, a testament to the enduring fascination humans have with these powerful marine predators that both frighten and fascinate us.

  5. Sharks! Yikes, did I tell you that we were swimming off the reef of Florida, in the Keys, someone tapped me on the shoulder and pointed down. I looked down and a reef shark brushed my toe, or at least the movement of the water, freaked me out! So I will pass on 'Shark Week', lol

I am loving you reviewing movies girl- Hope your birthday was as soothing as mine- food sucked, but the company and view of the ocean was wonderful!
