Birthday Dreams ... Monster High Cupcakes

And last for this week to feature is the Monster High Cupcakes I made for Birthday Dreams (Bringing birthday dreams for homeless kids). I really love that I get to be so creative and to bring a child a smile on their special day means the world to me.

I actually had 2 parties that I signed up for since they were the same theme Monster High. I went to Ebay and found a cupcake cutter.  I bought the 4 inch which was a little large for the cupcake, next time I would go for the 3 inch cutter.

What you Need:

Monster High Cookie Cutter (I recommend 3 inch)
Coffin Cutter
Candy Clay (Hot Pink, Black and White)
White Pipping Gel
Cupcakes
Frosting

Candy clay is so easy to make and it holds it shape unlike the fondant I use to make cupcake toppers.

Candy Clay
12oz Candy Melts (In Black, Pink and White)
1/4 Cup light corn Syrup

Melt your Candy Melts in microwave (mine takes about 2 minutes). Stir them to become smooth and add the corn syrup.  It will become thick and form a ball.  Wrap in plastic wrap and let it sit out and dry.  Takes a few hours or over night is best. (Alexis note: I found to roll this out use a little powder sugar (like you would do with flour), also you have to kneed it a little like you would dough to make it easy to roll out).

My Pink I bought was not bright enough so I added a little Electric Pink Food Coloring.

Next onto the Monster High Characters

For the Monster High Skull I rolled out hot pink candy clay. The bow cutter had 2 steps, one that made the bow and then one that you stamped on top to make the indents.  Then I cut out the white skull and white inside eyes.  The black for the outside of the eyes and nose hole.  I put these on a hot pink frosted cupcakes.

I thought I would add some fund tombstones to the cupcakes also.

For Tombstones You Need:
Black Candy Clay
White Piping Gel
Coffin Cutter

I had a coffin cutter from last years Halloween cookies.  Rolled out my black candy clay and then cut out the coffins.  I added RIP with my white piping gel and done!

Thanks for Stopping by!

Don't forget to see the parties I link up to HERE.
