Is this a preview of the New Year??

Today was so much fun I don't even know where to start ... oh wait why not at the beginning! The boys and I got home around 12:30, when I had to make an emergency run to the bathroom. All three where a sleep in the car and let's just say this momma wasn't going to make it unless she ran to the restroom pronto. I ran back out to find our exchange student had gotten out of the car grabbed his stuff and left the boys in there. Mind you poor Caden was having a melt down since he thought he was left. No worries you just go get yourself inside, I got the others. I get everyone down and settle in for a nice sleep.

That is until Rick got home around 2:30am from his second job and was tossing and turning. Around 5am he woke me up, he was having a ton of pain from a tooth! I've only seen Rick teary a few times, at our wedding the birth of the boys and yesterday morning. I make an emergency call to his dentist, and leave an urgent message. I then went out in my pj's (don't tell my mom, or I might end up on What Not to Wear) to get some tooth pain gel and some sleeping aids to help him get a little rest. Just a reminder it's New Years Day, which means everything is closed. Thankfully 3rd times a charm I find an open Walgreen's, grab my items and head to check out. Of course they were having 70% of Christmas items, Oh shhs I only briefly looked while I slowly walked down the isle to check out. It wouldn't have mattered if I stood there for 10 minutes, because the lovely person in front of my decided to check out with out the other people in his party. Let's just say me in my PJ's was nothing to the sight of the others walking up to check out, one of those you hold your purse a little tighter and wait to walk out after they leave.

I get back home to just fall asleep when the dentist calls, give him all the information you know since I just happen to have the phone number (on my receipt) for a pharmacy open. I head out once more in my PJ's and grab Caden in PJ's also, you why not make a family addition for What Not to Wear! Of course I make it home just in time for everyone wanting breakfast, no problem I'll hop right on that!

After running and screaming (that was just me trying to get my kids in check), I decided that maybe being an only child wasn't such a horrible thing. You know the only bad thing was when something bad happened I only had the dog Brittany. Mom really Brittany borrowed your pearls, or really Brittany ate the last cookie and my all time favorite Brittany broke that expensive antique. Ok maybe not the best plan, but after the whole He did this and He did this and the sharing concept that is so hard to grasp it was the best I got.

So Rick requested Mac and Cheese for dinner, me being the box queen I figure I needed to mix it up a little bit! Ok don't laugh I'm so not http://cookappeal.blogspot.com/ she just makes me sick how amazing she is the kitchen, ok back on point. Now don't laugh I made my first Roux, now I've always heard of them but thought too much work. And I know bow down and admit I was wrong (put it on your calendar, it doesn't happen often). Super Easy and it made the BEST Mac and Cheese, plus since I was getting my cooking groove on I made a Jerk Meatloaf. I was so on last night, I even threw it all in the oven loaded up the kids and went to Fantasy Lights! Do you think I was going a little crazy by then, you guessed it right!

Here are some cool pictures of the evening!

  2. When does your exchange student go back home? He needs to go! I was telling my brother about him. My brother says he specifically requests European kids only. So far he has had 4 winners out of 4!

As I have said before, you amaze me with all that you do in a day. I hope your hubby is feeling better.

The meat loaf looked so yummy. Do you have the recipe handy to share?

Get some rest this weekend if you can!

  5. I feel Ricks tooth pain, the left side of my face is swollen with an absest infected tooth and with no insurance...Im trying to muscle thru it but Ill tell you a saving grace, although only temporary is orajel medicated tooth swabs, they come in a little carrycase and look like q tips with medicine in it, you pop the top and the medicine runs to the swab to stick in your mouth and leave it...just thought I would pass it on...love ya! 6. Tooth is killing Rick he's scheduled for Surgery on Tuesday. God be with me he's a baby when sick and I'm sure this is going to be a ride. You know it girl I so found those and have those for him! Thankfully we finally got him on insurance.

For my friends here is the meatloaf recipe :)

Now the recipe is from Jenny Craig, I don't do the recipe to the T but it's yummy both ways :)

    1 lb ground beef

    1 cup soft breadcrumbs

1/2 cup finely chopped green onions

1/4 cup egg substitue (or 2 eggs)

    1/2 cup milk

    1/2 cup ketchup

    2 tbs white vinegar

    1 tsp dried thyme

    1/2 tsp salt

    1/2 tsp ground allspice

    1/2 tsp ground pepper

    1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

    1/8 tsp ground cinnamon

2 jalapeno peppers (or 1 small can)

Combine all ingredients in bowl. Shape mixture into loaf. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

What you saw was a double batch ;).

  10. Oh, you poor dear!

From one SITSa to another - be sure to have plenty of something for you on hand to deal with your hubby! If he's anything like mine, you'd rather have projectile-vomitting children than a sick hubby!

    Happy SITSa Saturday.

  13. You girls just make me smile and giggle!

I'm seriously looking for the hidden escape route as we speak. Hubby is the WOREST sick person. The boys are going insane and I really think I need some baileys for my coffee. That would mean getting everyone in the car and running away. Yup I'm not sure we'd be safe driving.

Sorry Felicia no PJ pics of this girl, did I mention the lovely Whale Rubber Boats I was wearing too? Yup Style is the name of the game.

Oh Chef E share away! LOL a mommy like me, tell her to it's a model between Alice and Rosanne ... LOL

  14. Oh my that mac and cheese looks very yummy. You should give me the recipe. It looks very filling for my Travis. I swear that man eats more than any human being should ever eat in one sitting. But he is still fit as a fiddle.

    1 tbsp. butter
    1 tbsp. flour
    1 tsp. salt

    1 tbsp. instant minced onion
    2 tsp. dry mustard
