(CLOSED) MSM ~ Make It Fast, Cook it Slow Book Giveaway

First off I'm so jealous of you, because you have the chance to win this cookbook that is a dream. Yup you heard me you get the one copy that was sent to me. Now I did have to open it to try a recipe but I promise I kept it clean, no food, blood or tears made it's way on it :).

Make it fast cook it slow is a wonderful book to help anyone either on the run or that doesn't like spending a ton of time in the kitchen. As many of you know I love my crockpot and tend to use it several times a week especially since I found those crockpot liners (if you don't have them get them!). Stephanie O'Dea did a wonderful job of creating a book that makes your mouth water, along with a healthy and Gluten Free way of eating!

Stephanie O'Dea created the blog A Year of Slow Cooking. A blog that started out as way to showcase a year of slow cooking recipes turned into a book that is now available to all to buy. All recipes have been tried out in her kitchen and by other home cooks. What I loved the best was she would end a lot of the recipes with "Verdict" giving helpful hints and how it really was accepted by her family. Her family is a Gluten Free and the book is wrote that way. As you all know (and my fluffy figure shows this) we are not, but it's easy to adapt and make the meal. Ok I must say it you know I'm a lazier cook (oh shut your mouth you know it's true) so when I saw Stephanie is just like me she doesn't brown the meat and even (like me) will throw it in frozen. Oh come on most days I'm running around grab the crock pot and then look for the meat (yup it's still in the freezer) oh well set it on high and there we go :).

So before we get to the giveaway I'm going to share with you the recipe I made. I also plan on making is her CrockPot Apple Dumpling Recipe that don't you worry I'm going to post before this giveaway is over. One thing you may notice is there are no pictures in the book, now don't get your panties all up tight you don't need a picture (if you do go to the blog and look up the recipe). Hello you rather have the cost of the book lower then fancy glossy picture, right? I knew you would get it!

I picked Java roast that was super yummy, like there was any doubt when I saw Java. Yup used the brew from the morning. I only had a pork roast on hand and it worked out perfect. The boys loved it! I of course made a few changes since we're not gluten free and I didn't have a red pepper on hand. You know my moto use what you have on hand!

The Ingredients
--3 lb chuck roast, trimmed of fat
--3/4 cup brewed coffee
--1 yellow onion, chopped
--1 red bell pepper, chopped
--8 oz sliced mushrooms
--1 t garlic powder, or 4-5 chopped cloves
--1/2 tsp salt
--1/4 black pepper
--1 T
Worcestershire sauce
--3 T red wine vinegar
--4 oz cream cheese (to add at the end)

The Directions.

Use a 4 quart or larger crockpot.

I opted to not brown the meat and onions, and instead plopped everything in to the crockpot. I put the vegetables on the bottom, and then the meat.

Add the coffee,
Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, and spices.

Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours, or on high for 4-5. I cooked our meat on low for exactly 8 hours, and then it was on warm for another 3.

Carefully remove the meat from the pot, and stir in the cream cheese. I'd cut the cream cheese in slices and add it one at a time, if you can, to help it from separating in little white dots the way mine did. I got impatient. If you do get a bunch of little white dots, they will taste fine, but annoy you.
