No Resolutions ... Obstacles I will overcome!

This last weekend at church we had former NFL Star pastor Eric Boles speak at our church, he speaks a few times a year at our church and he is a great motivational speaker.  I loved this weekend talk he did about not making resolutions but writing down obstacles that we see as we enter the new year.  As a Jesus person I believe that God has a plan and these obstacles he already has a plan of what path will be taken and how I will over come these obstacles.

He suggested writing them down in a place we can see them, what better place then on my blog so I can hold myself accountable.

Step 1: What I want? Real Desire (detail it) example: marriage, health, finances

Remember you DON'T need permission from your past for your future!

Step 2: Why do I want it? Reasons

Step 3: Then How? - This as a Jesus person I know God shows up, but as I have said many times I believe everyone has their own path and beliefs and here is no judgement so you decide.

My Obstacles:

Marriage - I want to be a better wife, more loving knowing that even though I'm tired that I have a husband that needs my time also.  I want to forgive, I will not forget but carrying around the past not only leads me to frustration but who needs to carry hate.   I will be a better listener, I will better wife and see my surroundings and remembering that I need to make the effort.

Mother - I want to be a better mother, more patience's.  This is something I need to work on and make a better effort and listening and remembering they also need the extra time and not to be always so rushed.

Health - I want to continue on this path on loosing weight.  I want to loose the last 34lbs to be at my goal weight and THEN maintain this goal weight.  I want to be healthy and decrease my risk of diabetes that run in my family.  I want to be able to run after my kids and not be the mom who sits on the side do to being too heavy to play or want to be in a bathing suit.

Finances - I want to continue to bring our credit score up.  Pay off this dreaded car payment for this car with a dead engine and get rid of this weight around my neck.  With two full time jobs now we will have the money to pay the bills and on time.  NO more robbing Peter to play Paul.

This is my VISION of what I WILL accomplish!

I thought this would be a great for anyone to do.  What would be on your list?

  4. All of those goals can be challenging, but they are all VERY attainable. I lost my weight last year and my plan is to keep maintaining it this year, and well, forever.

I don't do resolutions, but I am definitley trying to be more positive this year and stop letting the little things get to me.
