Walking Path .. Let's All Get Along

I try to go walking 6 times a week, I like to get 3 to 4 miles in during those days.  I have a walking buddy that meets up with me a few times.  We have been talking about common courtesy that seems to have gone out the window.  A few things we have noticed!

Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. Hate passing by smokers anytime anywhere..... they don't care where they blow their smoke.

There are still courteous people in this world, they are just few and far between.

  2. I used to walk the track at my YMCA, but some of the reasons on your list are why I stopped. After school, they had a teen program and all these OBNOXIOUS teenagers would walk the wrong way on the one way track, stop abruptly to text and just generally annoy the people there to work out.

And DITTO what you said about the people in pairs. If you're hard of hearing, I guess, but for the most part, you can hear people coming up behind you that want to pass. LET THEM!

  3. This is why I don't walk/run paths. I run the huge circle around Zoe's school which has very minimal traffic.

  4. Second hand smoking is every bit as harmful to your health as actually smoking. I don't like to be around a smoker.

  5. I was just at another post who talked about common courtesy. No one says excuse me anymore!!! People seem to be more selfish these days....it's all about me, no one else matters!

  7. You're right about courtesy going out the window. I get upset with high school age kids on a regular basis! They'll walk down the streets in town and not get over (there are sidewalks!) The track/cross-country teams run down our backroads and will run 3 deep into the road and not single file when I go by. Plus, when I run, the high schoolers fly by at 50 mph flinging stones, dust and dirt. (I assume they're high schoolers, since adults should be more courteous, right?)

Definitely sad that courtesy and respect isn't being taught anymore :-(
