Getting my Eyes on

I've been wearing glasses for 7 years now.  NOW I should probably have always worn glasses but I could function and see "good enough" to drive and function.  Until one day when I was about 6 months pregnant with Caden I woke up and couldn't see a thing.  YUP FREAK out moment!  Called my doctor who so nicely reassured me it's just part of the pregnancy and the swelling it will go back to normal soon.   YUP well normal didn't come!  I tried contacts but they are a pain, I'm also a lazy person when it comes to me things I just want quick and easy.  So glasses became my thing, I found funky ones that became my personality.  I like my funky glasses but since I'm reinventing me why not my style too.  My mom has offered to buy laser surgery for my eyes!

I went to get a consultation yesterday to see if I'm a candidate.  I was and was told I could do Lasik or PRK.  Since I have a stigmatism it looks like the PRK would be a better out come for me.  The recovery is a little longer (not instant like Lasik) but I won't have the flap on my eye and less chance of infection.
PRK was the first type of laser eye surgery for vision correction and is the predecessor to the popular LASIK procedure. Though PRK recovery takes a bit longer than recovery from LASIK eye surgery, PRK is still commonly performed and offers advantages over LASIK for some patients.
Like LASIK and other types of laser eye surgery, PRK works by reshaping the cornea using an excimer laser, allowing light entering the eye to be properly focused onto the retina for clear vision.
The main difference between PRK and LASIK is that in LASIK surgery a thin, hinged flap is created on the cornea to access the treatment area, whereas in PRK the cornea's entire epithelial (outer) layer is removed to expose the area and no flap is created. For both PRK and LASIK, the excimer laser then sculpts the stromal layer of the cornea to correct your refractive error.
So the surgery is scheduled for next Wednesday afternoon (thankfully with me working with a 3 hour time difference it will be the end of my day) and I'll take Thursday off work and work my half day on Friday and Saturday.  I'm a bit nervous but so excited to have clear vision!

Bye Bye Glasses I'll miss you!!!

Glasses are the new black dress right?

Since I don’t think I’ll be getting an eye surgery anytime soon I’ve become obsessed with glasses.  And being the crazy sale person that I am found one site that I could buy glasses with a coupon for a $1 + shipping.  THEN I found anther site that your first pair is free + shipping.  Being the thrifty person I am under each site I logged in as one me and then two Rick so I could get two glasses from each site.  I know but I can’t pass up a deal like that!  So for around $25 I bought 4 new glasses worth around $88 a piece!  Yes for you math wizzes that is $352 glasses for $25!

Let the fashion show begin!

My studious reminds me of a man’s business look.  I’m funny but when I’m home working on web things I like to wear these. YES I know I’m nutty!

My pink blush pair, that are not my fav since they have the plastic noise piece and I think they blend too much with my skin tone right now.  These will be for when I’m tan.

My Pink animal print (inside it’s a peek a boo), which I thought would be my favorites but the next pair actually has turned out to be.

These Blue animal print (on the outside) have become my favorite.  They are super comfy and I love the splash of color I never would have thought I’d like blue but something told me to get them.

On an amazing ending note, Rick had the weekend off for his birthday.  He was SO kind Friday came home told me to go get a pedicure!  I didn’t even say a word about wanting one.  Then Saturday he hung out with the boys while I went grocery shopping ALONE!  Sunday he took the boys WITHOUT me asking to Chuck E Cheese to play for FOUR hours so I could go get my hair done!  It was the MOST (yes a lot of caps because that is how excited I am) relaxing and BEST weekend I have had in a very very long time!

So there you have it a fashion show Smile!  Hope you’re all having fab week! Much LOVE!

Move Over Sally Jesse Raphael

Remember back in the day Sally Jesse Raphael and her rocking Red eyeglasses? Oh yes it was a styling fashion statement of her time!

So why not I bring the style back with my new prescription glasses. They are now an updated shape and a little bling on the side but the red sure does make a statement. At first I was a little worried about the color and may not being able to wear them with so many of my outfits. But come to find out I like black (hmmm probably because it's slimming) so it not a problem it matches what I have.

As I've said before glasses are now part of my accessories. I love that they come in different colors and so many shapes and sizes. It's funny the girl who use to dread wearing glasses now can't get enough of them.

These days it's easier, you can get glasses online pick them out and they are shipped right to your home. There is something so fun about shopping online you can browse with out a sales person following you around like you smell funny or you can stop cook dinner and come right back! Oh yes the life of shopping online!

GlassesUSA is an amazing online company were you can browse glasses. The thing that really impresses me about them is what they do with returned glasses don't get restocked (like the stores) they send to various organization that then redistribute all over to the world to those who can not afford vision care. Glasses USA is a international company with an office in New Jersey (headquarters) and one in Israel.

BUY IT: Save up to 70% off Retail prices and even better I have a 10% coupon. Enter Code Blog10 (psst ... it never expires!), now pick out some glasses and then pick up at least one back up. Remember my post of the broken glasses, yup always have a back up!
Check out my Sassy Glasses:

I was not paid for this review these are my opinions and experiences, I received products to try and to tell how I liked them. No monetary or any other form of compensation was given to me. I review products free of charge to give my experience and opinion.

EyeGlasses My Future is Looking Clearer

Oh how eyeglasses have changed since my younger days. I remember when I was in Junior high and volunteered to be the person who checked off that everyone in the class got their eye check. Yup I marked myself as having one when I didn't I couldn't take a chance I would have to wear one of these to school. No four eye comments wanted for this girl!

Sadly I got older and could not avoid it any longer I dreaded going to the doctor to get prescription glasses. I had images of those glasses from my youth or worst my poor dad wearing the glasses referred to as "Coke Bottom Glasses". I was so worried my vision would bring those glasses to my future.

Since driving or walking with out little blurry items in my way, I couldn't put glasses off any more. Thankfully I walked in and saw all the beautiful glasses and was told that I too could wear those glasses. Who knew I could be hip and fashionable, with the other ladies and another crutial part I could drive with out those darn blurry spots. Oh yes I found out those blurry spots were other cars, yup that's a helpful thing to be able see!

Now with a busy life, 2 kids and a husband in tow my time is rather limited and going to shop for things on my own is not always something that happens. Thankfully we have the internet these days, what would I do with out it? All I know is I can contact my eye doctor have my prescription faxed over and order my glasses online! Oh yes the small things that can make my life so easy! Order online and shipped to my house, I don't even have to get out of my PJ's for that, well maybe to walk to the mailbox but even then I could go out in my PJ's!

And since you all want to be rocking like me with glasses I have a coupon code so you can order yours online also! I know it's because I love you like that! Head over to order your glasses online at the check out enter the code MOMMY10 to receive 10% off the already discounted glasses!

Thank you to GlassesUSA for the coupon code to share with my readers! And hang in there gang I will be sporting a new pair of glasses soon to show off! Oh yes a girl can never have too many pairs of glasses. Isn't funny the girl who avoided them at all cost loves them and can't wait to accessories with them!
