Go Go Go Alexis ~ Crazy packed weekend

We had one packed weekend!  It started Friday with Cole’s school holding their annual Olympics at the local military base.  It’s a great event that includes the surrounding Lutheran schools.  So the kids get to meet new friends and have some fun. The 1-2 grade do a bunch of little activity stations.  The 3-8 grades do the running and jumping events.  We have a concession stand that helps the PTF for our school.  It was a great event.  This year I worked the am so I could then take Cole and hang out with him this year and help with the concession stand.  Here are a few shots of this years Olympics:

Saturday I got up and worked my normal shift.  Then clocked off and ran around like a mad women getting the kids ready for our first party of the day.  We hit the ground running for this “Rock Star” party.  The birthday girl’s dad did some awesome bubbles.  We did a 3 legged race, poor little Caden was dragged a little by one little boy who kept yelling at him.  He came up to me a said “Mama I’m just a little boy”, big hugs dude it’s ok.  Same little boy kept pushing on Caden after a few stern words and looks he finally did stay away from him.

We ran home got the scooters and put my running shoes and we hit the park to meet my friend and go walking.  We learned a lesson that during the afternoon during the week this public park turned into a soccer and BBQ there was like 200+ ppl! YIKES we cut it down to 2 miles and headed home.  After pulling in we her a bunch of honks and we found we had a visitor.  My dad surprised us with his new Cam Am Spyder.  Soon they will have their own helmets so they can take a ride with him.

After dad took off I made a mad dash to finish up my cupcakes.  Then we hit our 2nd party of the night.  A friend from high school had a Cinco de Mayo party.  It was perfect since kids could play.  They even had a pinata that went up and accidently fell and broke open … lol! It was so much fun and the cupcakes were a hit for the kids.  The adults had a VERY yummy margarita pie (I so need the recipe).

Sunday we had church, my friend is going to do the late night service so I took the boys to the 9am service which was nice to have the afternoon to do laundry, grocery shopping etc.  Hopefully I’ll meet a new friend to sit with at church.  So there you have it a fun weekend!

The Weekend we were grounded … UGH

Well Cole had that chip thing at school so we dialed back our weekend.  Thursday Cole’s school had a field trip to Micheal’s craft store and I went along, all the chaperone’s got a coupon plus a list of upcoming events.  Ok that is the back story .. lol.

Cole bless him did rather well didn’t bug me while I worked Saturday AM and stayed quiet most of the day Saturday.  Not wanting to punish Caden we hit Michael's for a pumpkin panting Kid Class.  For $5 each I bought a pumpkin and the kids painted and decorated for 2 hours!  Of course I left my camera at home (just like I did for the field trip … ugh).  But I have the after shots … hehe.

Sunday we went to church, which was a little light all the women went to a retreat Friday – Sunday.  Sadly I couldn’t go with work and kids (maybe next year).  But it was a nice day and my Tuesday dinner Friend even came and meet with me.  I was so excited her and her son came along with me, and I think they had a good time and will come again.

After church we took my boys and her son back to Michael’s for a Free event they were having.  Making Bats with your hand prints!  What a cool idea you can do at home for cheap and keep for memory sake!

Rick and I also had our movie date Thursday night which was so great to get out and he even didn’t mind a movie that was faith based (whoo hoo … that is a big deal).  You all know about the mess we came home to but it was nice to be just us.

Rick even got some home improvements done around the house.  I had those UGLY vertical hanging blinds that get so dirty and you always have to straight them to make sure you can open then slide them over.  I made a run to Ross and picked up a new rod and curtains.  It makes the kitchen look very elegant, I’m so excited.  Plus we loved the new blinds we replaced after the dog tore the others that we bought one for our room, the boys room and my office.  They make the house look so much better and not the cheap plastic ones we had before.

Yeah to Date night got my hair done and shoes on !

Happy Wednesday, we’re almost to the weekend

Weekend Wrap … Yes it was kind of Chill!

Rick was so sweet he knew how sad I was over the B&B and the dinner we had.  He went to my favorite restaurant Old Spaghetti Factory and picked up dinner for the family.  He even plated it all up!  Yup he got happy face from me!

Saturday after work we headed over to Rachel’s house for some coffee and play time.  Her daughter Abby is a girl after my heart and loves shoes.   Why not try them on.  Oh yes why not my leopard with pink rain boots rocks and they begged to be tried on.  Caden’s fireman boots also were a hit .  She was so sweet and even feed the boys!

Sunday at 7am I meet up with one of my best friends for breakfast!  She is one of my bestie’s I was the LOUD 20 y/o that moved in next to her house that would have loud parties every weekend and she would walk over holding a baby to keep it down .  Yes she even came over a few times to hang out with us young crew too!  15 years later we’re still friends and I cherish these moments to just hang out and talk.

I was having a heck of a week with Caden and his “adventure” so the weekend was a slow one, which of course makes the boys go crazy and mom loose her MIND.  Yup that is me being a crazy poser .. hehe.

Last Sunday was Cole’s Sunday to sing in church for his school.  Here is his cute 2nd grade along with the 1st grade class.

We are also enjoying our fall teachers in swim class.  Cole had a problem sitting still (or in this case standing in water with out splashing) but thankfully got better by the 3rd class.  The boys are liking the 4pm class and I’m liking we get home earlier.  Caden is sad that his Maggie is not teaching the class but we’re adjusting .

Weekend Wrap With Even a NIGHT off!!! (Hold on Betsy)

We had a fab weekend, the only thing I wished is that it was a 3 day weekend so I could have at least one day to just chill … but as we all know it I would just fill it up … lol.

Saturday after I got done with work I ran up to my friend wedding reception location and helped her do the prep work, we were the two lone soldiers and got it all done!

Then I ran home changed and picked up the boys.  GET this Rick even took the day off and came with me!!

Then we dropped the boys off at home and we got a NIGHT OFF!!  We rented a room at Plum Duff B&B.  We’ve stayed at one on our wedding night & the one year anniversary so this was a real treat.  The place was very nice, the room was a little on the nautical feel and the bed was too small for poor Rick.  His feet hung off the bed … lol.  Then sadly I was disappointed with the breakfast.  Now I’m a little food snob you know, so when I go and pay $150 for a night I really expect bells and whistles.  The breakfast was just ok, the breakfast was the a egg, sausage with frozen potatoes.  It’s something I’ve put together in a pinch for the boys, so that was a little let down.  Rick told me I was being silly … lol.

Back in the day Mama Stortini’s was our favorite restaurant before kids, the owner Joe sold it and sadly the people that took it over didn’t do it justice.  He did start another restaurant Joeseppi's so we went to dinner there.  Rick had a wonderful Chicken Parm and yep you guessed it my brown butter & parm was just ok .  The noodles were a little over cooked and mushy.  The breadsticks were good at least!  We then head to the movies!! Ok get this, I haven’t been to the movies in 4 YEARS!  I was so excited I got to eat popcorn … YUMMY!  We watched Contagion with Matt Damon, it was actually very good and worth the $25 … hehe yes I’m cheap why we don’t ever go.

Sunday we went to church, our little neighbor boy asked to go along with us and the boys were so excited!  After church they had a BBQ and talent show.  The boys enjoyed all the food and then the fun of the talent show!

The talent show was so much fun! Pastor Dan even got out his sword out and sliced a zucchini and then a watermelon on top of one of the band members.  It was so much fun!

Then we headed to my Tuesday friends house for some water balloon’s, hanging out in the fort and even the tree’s.  A super fun time all around!

And I can’t leave you with a recipe.  I made these supper yummy Black & White Brownie Cupcakes.  With a Coffee frosting on top.  It’s was a hit at the wedding reception we went to.

Weekend of Mileage on the car!

Saturday after I finished work I put Caden on the car and ran to pick up presents and of course a new outfit (that when I got home didn’t fit and made me want to cry but that is a whole nother blog post). 

Then home I went my neighbor was outside and we got to talking and he asked if I ever cooked Salmon said I hadn’t so he brought me over 4 fillet’s to cook up.  I was going to a fish themed party so it was perfect. I bought a octopus floater (as the gift), fish paper to wrap it and baked salmon as my food to bring (recipe to come next week).

Here is the boys at the birthday party.  My friend had her son’s party at Bill’s Fishing Hole. We got to touch fish yeah … lol.  The boys had fun and caught a few fish which we left for my friend to cook.

We left party #1 to head to party #2 we pulled up and no cars and a car I didn’t recognize in the driveway along with 2 little girls sitting on the porch I didn’t know. OK I’m blonde so I did go out to the street to make sure I went to right street . Yes I know but I really thought I went to the wrong house.  Come to find out I knocked on the door and my friends husb came out to let me know the party was cancelled.  His mother had fallen and cracked her head open and had been air lifted to Harbor View.  Prayers for her please.

So since we drove back up to Tacoma I stopped by the house and picked up Jake and head to my parents house (drove past the place we went to earlier that day … lol).  Saturday was Bonney Lake Days held at the park down from my parents house.  My dad (who’s back is messed up and will be needing surgery again, please pray for him too) and I took the boys and Jake down to the park.  Ok I should say my dad (bless him) took hold of Jake and walked him down.  The boys enjoyed the jumpy houses while dad hung out with Jake.

Then we went back to my parents house to enjoy the lake.  Mom even got Jake to go in the water.  She bought him a life vest which he wasn’t too please with … hehe.  The boys did some floating and enjoying the lake.  We did have one accident that Jake got a little excited and ran on the dock and accidently hit Caden who fell in the lake.  He went under that large floaty you see in the picture and we got a little panicked but he did very well and dog paddled up and mom and I pulled him up.  Thank GOD for the swimming lessons.

Sunday Rick had the day off from all 3 jobs so we spent the day with the family after church we hoped in the car and went to Bellevue Mall to go to Lego Land.  Which was a DREAM for all 3 boys (yes that includes Rick).  We won’t mention the train lego that Rick wanted $150. hehe I know what he will be getting for Christmas .

Memorial Weekend 2011 Wrap Up

Thursday night Rick and I went out on a date night since we had a babysitter so we could meet with Cole’s principal for the end of year wrap up and evaluation if we will be welcomed back next year.  Well the secretary had the dates wrong it happen to be drama night at Cole’s school so we had to cancel the meeting but not time to cancel the babysitter.  So after drama night we went out to dinner, I’ve been eating so well for a few weeks so going out was a test I failed.  It all looked so well but I over did it and paid for it later that night.  Since then I have been sick as a dog .

On side note we meet the Principal on Friday nothing but good words about Cole.  He has come leaps and bounds since the start of school, still has his moments but YEAH we’re doing well baby!!

Cole’s school does a Drama night each year.  This year they did the garden.  Cole played a flower and a WEED .  The Weed’s rapped it was hilarious!  Cole even told the farmer that he didn’t want to become “Coleslaw”.  He had no idea why people laughed at his name … lol.

Darma night Cole needed Sunglasses to play a Weed so Caden had to get some Monkey glasses . My parents even came which was great they usually don’t come to things that are very religious.  But this night it was just a play so everyone was happy.

We had a few sun days so that means play time.  Which made us very dirty, my friend had to hose the boys down before they came in … lol.

We had our last swim class until class start back up in late June.  Our teacher was gone so we had a new teacher.

We had a Lowe's kids clinic making biplanes, let’s just say the reason you don’t see a finished product is momma was frustrated so yup we left I’ll have to finish those up later … lol

We visited my parents to see all the changes they have done at their waterfront.  They added in a slide off the dock, tore up the grass put in blocks and bunch of dirt and then a concrete pad and a new gazebo. They also extended out the dock so the jetskii’s can be there the whole time.  We even had a tasty dinner.

Wow another weekend I think I sat down at one point!

It was one of those amazing weekends that kept us a moving!  Saturday was the day of stuff as much as you can in one day.  Saturday was a busy day at work and then some running around then off to a bouncy house party!  Since we live in the North West it of course rained but the kids had fun anyways!  It was a great time plus it was at a friends house that I haven’t seen since High School.

Then after the birthday party we head back home to meet Cole’s school at the Rainier’s Game.  Can I say again how much I love this school.  Our tickets came with a hotdog, chips and a drink.  The boys actually did really well.  Caden got a bit antsy but it was fun and for you who know me know I HATE baseball and I actually enjoyed it.

Then Sunday after church we headed to a friends house for a little play time.  I then thought we would go to a park. So after 2 places and a no go I thought what the heck let’s go to McD’s and the kids can play.  This is when I almost went postal!  There were around 20+ kids running screaming.  When a BIG dad came marching up to me screaming at me I need to check my kid and he was out of control and he threw a young kid?  I was WTF?  Cole is a lot of things loud and has tons of energy but I HAVE NEVER seen him throw a child.  Then the guy brought the mom over to me to show the back.  I made Cole apologize but I was beyond words.  If I was on my game I probably would have smacked the dad.  I talked to Cole and Caden later and he said in tears he never threw the kid.  He did trip and accidently pushed him.  I was so furious that guy made me feel so small along with all the NASTY looks I got from other parents that had no clue but immediately made my son the bad guy.  NEXT time dude you get in my face you’ll be on your arse!!

It was my turn to make dinner for the youth group at church so I whipped up a great potato soup (I added in some spinach to give them a little more veggies).  I know most of these kids only eat fast food so I love to make sure I give them something new each time it’s my turn.  The youth group leader came up to me on Sunday to tell me how much they enjoyed it! Got to love that!
