A whirlwind Work Trip

I just returned from another business trip. Let's just say it started out rather rough. I got tot the airport to find my flight was first it's delayed 40min to Boston due to they did not have a spot for us to land. Then they worked that out. We board sat on plane for 25 min to be told we need to get off the plane while they figure out something mechanical issue. After 2 hours they tell us flight is cancelled. We all hop on our phones with in min all the 1 stop overs where gone for Jet Blue. Mind you while I'm on hold for 45 min while she is checking on getting an ok to refund my non refundable ticket, she came back on to say the Fight I told her to book was full and she didn't put me on it! I'm trying to google flights thought I found one that got me in at 12a, but I misread and it got me in at 12p that was after I bought the flight on my debit for $600. So I then have to call Expedia to back out and try to get a flight another 35min to find all the flights getting me in late Thurs or very early Fri are gone. Finally found one not leaving until almost 11p. So I spent a little over 13 hours in the airport lol then had to take a flight to Chicago and then to Boston in the AM.

My husband returned from a 31 day trip and I left 2 days later
Suitcases passing in the night!

My suitcase ALWAYS is right at the limit

Had to post my funny FB post about my trip:
#‎jetblue‬ we had a ‪#‎RHOBH‬ moment you were Vanderpump and I was Kyle. In Kyle fashion I will forgive and take you back. You're the cool kid and I missed your premium security check in, extra room seats and TV along with all access free WiFi! I may say some nasty things at the reunion show but I say we're friends. ‪#‎united‬ you were fun but you're the Brandy that left me with a cramped behind and having to play my own music! On a plus I tried uber and no one killed me. Over all I say this adventure was TV worthy lol. ‪#‎dropsthemic‬

My 2nd flight with a 2nd trip through security.
United is not as good as Jetblue, no TV's and crowded seats
I also tried Uber and didn't die!

Thankfully my boss found the United Club where I could hang!
If your a drinker you could make up the cost in free alcohol
Me not so much but I sure did drink a lot of FREE lattes!

I thankfully arrived the day of our event and not the day before as planned. We had an amazing event and I was able to Meet Col. Allan West! Pretty spectacular to meet the man they say could be our next VP. He was a BRILLANT speaker and such a nice man!
Before My Mother's Day Drama I went to our event and event went for a Pedi & Mani
Sunday was Mother's Day, I sadly got a call about a person I called a great friend who was trying to break up my family. So my Mother's Day kind of sucked but I had a wonderful front desk lady who gave me headache meds and bought me a Gatorade. In the long run I was able to find some closure and actually saw growth in my relationship with my husband.
The week flew by and I stuck to my goal and did the stairs up and down along with working out in my hotel room. I'm schedule to go back next month. Typically I go every 3mo this year we've been having a lot of big events so I'm going more often.

Here's my trip in pictures :)

Flying all over the world ...

Life has been a little crazy here with my work and family life. Work has been a little overloaded since I work for a company in MA and it's big time political season. Our company was bring the candidates to the public. So we put on two events one for Ted Cruz and one for Donald Trump. Way exciting and a ton of phone calls about the events. Work is starting to go back to the normal grind and I'm getting a little breathing room.

On top of all that I'm head to Boston next week and ... wait for it .... my oldest was invited to head to MEXICO with his best friend for a winter break!  AND daddy gets to stay home with our youngest. He got the easy job this time, usually when I head for work he has both kids to deal with.

I was smart this time and packed my bag and his bag this past weekend so I won't be running around crazy. He leaves Wednesday AM and I leave Saturday PM. Wish us luck! On some fun news! I became a grown up (yes at almost 40) I bought my own suitcase and in a bright PINK so no more guesses at the airport!  My amazing husband even walked my pink suitcase around the mall and we finished up some shopping needed for mine and Cole's trip!

A big thank you to my husband who pushed me to go into Wilson Leather since he had a $10 coupon that was about to expire. I DON'T EVER spend money on myself, I hate to. So he pushed me into spending $64.99 on a new suitcase but a GREAT deal regular $250!!!

AGAIN wish us luck .. LOL!

Fly away on a Work Trip

You may have noticed I was absent last week. Well I took a little trip now it wasn't all business a little pleasure was there also! I work in Boston so I travel there every 3mo or so to have some face time. Being virtual is amazing for my home life etc, but you miss some of the face to face that helps make you real ... lol. I was so happy when my bosses said I could come out ever few months to work in office.

I flew out Saturday night for a 6 hour flight and arrive bright and early Sunday. I of course flew in when the hotel had a wedding and all rooms were booked. I love the Hyatt they are usually very helpful and get me right in. The lady that spoke to me sadly did not carry that high regard for the company I'm use to. Instead of saying let me take your name and number and if we have a room open early we'll let you know. NOPE she was almost down right nasty. NOW I know I flew in early and before the check in time, but as we all know they have rooms that haven't been sold and are just sitting there. Usually they are so nice, these lady not so much. Got nasty tell me its Sunday do I think ppl would check out early. WELL missy I watched as ppl checked out early and went and talked to the nice girl I usually deal with very nicely took my name and number and called me when a room was cleaned.

Packed and ready to go!
Rick had to work so I took a towncar to the airport!
Sat next to older couple who had to pee like every 30min, so much for the good isle seat!

Thankfully a Starbucks is right next the hotel.
So I could wait there until room ready.

I had a great week! I had to dress up every day which is so far from my PJ look I usually wear every day for work. We had a huge event that was so fun and I got to meet a lady I've talked to but hadn't meet in person.

I was on a mission and got up EVERY morning I was there before work and hit the gym! I did bring protein bars and shakes with me to help with my diet, but I knew with no grocery store by me I was going to have some not the best meals. I was pretty proud of myself getting up at what would be 3:30am my time (6:30am their time) and even taking the stairs up and down to the gym! I'm happy to say I've been home a week and down 2lbs from when I left so all is good!

The office celebrated my belated bday since I wasn't in the office for my bday. I was so touched, and ate cake which was so bad! The office took me to dinner at Legal Seafood the night before I left. I laughed so hard and enjoyed the great time with my co-workers.

I had a bumpy flight home, but didn't have to share my row with anyone! I love JetBlue they have WIFI and TV! Flew in late Friday night, and back to work Saturday AM I went.

I love my job and being able to work from home and a 3 hour time difference makes my life so much easier! I can't wait to go back again, it's fun playing dress up and working with great people.
Have a GREAT weekend!!

Boston Trip 2014

I headed Black Friday for my 2nd annual trip to Boston for a work event.  Every Saturday after Thanksgiving we do a huge event at the Marriott.  We had about 400 people show to the event I fly in to help set up appointments and greet people.

I always fly JetBlue to Boston due to the non-stop flight!  AND on my way to Boston JetBlue had WIFI on the plane!  YES it was awesome!!

I know most are not happy about the Thanksgiving stores being open but I'm grateful for those people who work.  I'm able to do my shopping Thursday night and then hope on a plane Friday afternoon and fly to Boston.  My flight was delayed so I got into Boston and into my room around midnight.  I find staying at the hotel the night before the event is awesome.  I can then get ready and just head down to the event in the main ballroom.

My co-worker Lana and my bosses son William
click link above Lana and her family are going on a year long sailing trip!

The event was a hit! I stayed Saturday and Sunday night at my bosses house.  I love their house it is so beautiful!  My male boss had hip surgery recently and was in the guest room with a special bed so I slept in the bunk beds in my bosses son's room. He's such a great kid reminds me of my youngest.  We talked for a long time, he told me all about minecraft.  It was just like being home.

Sunday between work, my female boss took me to the mall.  I had lost my black boots before the trip and needed to pick up a pair along with I forgot my makeup brush.  We were able to walk the mall and even went to see Catching Fire.  I haven't been to a movie in so long, and to see a movie I LIKED was so nice!!!

My Rooms
1st Night - Burlington Marriott
2nd Night - Braintree Hyatt

Monday AM I got up worked a while then headed into the office.  This stay I ended up staying at the hotel in our parking lot.  That way I was able to work in the office during the week. We have 2 locations so I split my days between the two offices.  It was really nice getting to better know my co-workers. Being virtual has great advantages but having the one on one time really does help.  I'm so excited that I've been asked to come back every 3 months and work in the office.  A great break for me and also face time which really does help.  I've worked her for almost 7 years now, last year was my first time meeting everyone in real life.  So this is a huge step and I love it!

The Hyatt had an amazing healthy Breakfast
PLUS a few not so healthy meals were had also ... lol

Since I work at home my dress-code is PJ's
So had to buy dresses for the days in the office and the event.
And a going outfit for the Museum and Mall (double duty outfit .. lol)

I had a great time and one night one of my coworkers took me to the The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  I had so much fun!  It was breath taking to see Van Gogh and Monet paintings up close.  This was my first time seeing paintings up close! AND I got to see a Mummy's head up close!  It was more then words could explain!  And we hit a yummy place for dinner where I hear celebs are seen a lot!!

What an amazing trip! And when I got home Rick had the house cleaned, laundry and dishes done.  The house hadn't  burned down and the kids go to all their classes and tutoring!  I feel so much better about going now every 3 months!

Hope you're all having a GREAT day!

On my Work Trip I met an OC Housewife!

Last week I posted I was going to Whistler Canada for work.  I will post about my trip later but I had to share my star moment, ok it's a reality star but still it was a real treat.  My boss had told me she goes to the events we go to (she sells insurance and is part of producer / advisor group - We are financial advisors and insurance).  So my boss has told me that before they were at a trip and they saw the famous Vicki, my boss and her daughter went up to say hi and ask for a autograph.  Let's just say it didn't go well, Vicki was not pleased and would not give a picture or autograph.  It actually became a funny joke in the office and my boss even joked about it on his radio show.

So when I saw her my first day at breakfast I was leery to go over and say hi.  My husband LOVES the OC housewife, yes he is the one that got me to watch it.  He is from OC so of course he has to watch (that is what he says so it's not so bad he likes a chick show). She had a grumpy face on so I didn't approach her.  Brooks (yes they are still together, he's been to all the events the last few years) was smiling and seemed happy.  I did run into her when I was going to the spa and she was headed to the pool.  I must say it was nice to see she did have cellulite on her legs (You got to love TV and they make them all look so perfect).  She had the not so nice look on her face so I tried to smile and got nothing.

On our 3rd night there our group (800 ppl) had a huge dinner party called Winter Wonderland.  It had a neon lite up Transformer, a snow king and queen on stilts and ice carvers!  It was an amazing time, then the dancing went going!  My co-worker loves to dance and we were checking out the dance floor when I saw Vicki and Brooks!  They were smiling and taking a picture with someone.  So I put on my big girl panties and went up and asked for a photo.  Brooks was facing me so I asked him, he said sure ask Vicki.  I tried to get her attention but she was dancing away, so he tapped her and asked.  She smiled said hi and sure!

It was a brief meeting but I got my picture, no autograph so my husband joked I couldn't come home .. lol.

There you have it, my work lead me to meet Vicki from the RHOC!

Ok so I was in super smile mode so don't mind my face .. lol

Whistler Canada here I come!

It is true I hopped on a plane and flew to Canada yesterday.

My amazing bosses have invited me to come along to Whistler Canada.  Now living in Washington I'm rather close to Canada.  In my youthful party days we would hope the board all the time (yup drinking age was 19 here).  NOW we would bomb up on a Saturday AM, party hard and sleep in some cheap MOTEL.  Now This trip is a whole different ball game!

Before I start on the amazing hotel we are staying at.  Let me start with what I am now referring to as the great debacle of Alexis flying.  For you who know me know I'm not a good flyer.  So yesterday I arrive 2 hours early to the airport I make it through security and check in told to go to gate B12.  I look at my ticket it says N12B so I'm thinking oh ok the N must be something for them.  I sit down and start to work to keep my mind off flying.  1/2 before it's time to board I go potty and hit Starbucks stand in line for 15 min go and still don't see my flight # come up on the board so I ask.  Guess what yup in the wrong location.  I have to take NOT 1 but THREE underground trains to the other side of the airport.  Oh yes you guessed it I arrive 3 min after they closed the gate and I was told I would have to wait of course the flight in 2 hours was book solid so I had to wait 5 hours!  You guessed it 7 hours at the airport for this girl!

At least I was in the right place, so I worked for 3 hours of the wait and then 2 hours read a book.  Of course this flight ran late ... lol as my boss says it's comical luck!

I get to Canada and have to clear customs.  What a difference vs just driving across the border like the past.  A great smile and you got right over.  This was angry looking security guards with guards behind in bullet proof vest and guns.  I crossed with no problem and a town car was waiting for me.  The GREAT part of being late was I got to ride ALONE in a car instead of a bus caravan.  Now the resort was 2 hours away the driver said.  We got there in 2 hours, arriving around 10pm!

My amazing boss stayed up to see me, I felt so special for her to do that.  She even went down and had a Moji with me (Pomegranate yum!).  We ended up talking until after midnight!  It was an amazing day even with spending a half day in the airport.

Have a GREAT week!

On a fun note a certain Housewife from the OC I hear may be here!
She is part of our the top producers like my bosses.

Quick trip to Boston ... First Time Meeting my Co Worker Family

As many of you know I've been working for an amazing company for close to 7 years.  I'm going on 4 years of working full time at home from them.  I live in Washington and work for a company in Massachusetts.  The time difference allows me to get up early and do their calls and get off early my time to take care of the kids.  The 3 hours really is what keeps my world working as I found out being over there in their time zone.

My bosses are truly amazing people they are those people you only hear about that worked very hard to create a business and went from very little to a very successful life.  They give back to so many and create such a great environment to work.  This was the first time I was able to go and meet them and my co workers in person!  We had a HUGE event of 300+ people last Saturday so all week was busy to make sure it was set up correctly.

I had the amazing opportunity to stay at their house.  I know most people asked me this is the first time your meeting them and you'll be staying at their house?  It's funny but really just a God thing that these people were sent into my life and I feel like they are family.  I know if they or I ever needed anything we would be there for each other.

Let me just say I felt like a princesses!  I had my own room with a view over looking the water and their pool.  I had my own bathroom too!  3 boys and 1 mom share at my house this is a BIG thing.
Before I left this is what I left for Rick ...
LOL our daily schedule for the kids

My packing list:
Yes I mapped out my outfits daily ... lol

My Amazing Room!

My first day I flew in very early in the AM.  I really wanted to sleep on the drive from the Boston Airport to their house in Rhode Island but my VERY kind driver of the town car was a talker ... LOL.  He use to play football for the NY Giants in the 70's.  The drive was beautiful and really was nice.  I got there and got a chance to give my bosses a hug and chit chat a little before to work we went!

My second day I got up early around 6am / 3am my time and made it down around 7am to get some work going.  I MUST say the had the most amazing bed ever I so want that mattress!!  We worked a little while then off to Boston to meet my co workers and do a surprise baby shower for one of our VP's in the office.  We even went to the Apple store to look at a new iPhone for me.  I'm so excited I'm getting a 5S it should be here soon!

Me meeting my Co-Workers for the first time!!

The Baby shower!
I made a Baby Bath Tub Diaper Cake the night before.
Thanks to my boss and her extra hands it came together.
SEE how the girls at one table and boys at the other ... lol

The next 2 days were packed with work getting ready for the HUGE event.  Usually we do events around 80 to 100 people.  This one had 4 guest speakers and turned out to be over 300+ people who showed.  We had two Patriot Cheerleaders, a photographer, a videographer and at the end of the event one of the guest speakers busted out his guitar and sang us a few songs.  Of course me and Teri from the office had to dance and shake our groove thangs!!  I have never laughed so hard in my whole life!

Here are a few shots from the Expo we held:

Top left is us getting ready at the house yes 4 laptops are going!
2nd is my work station at event

I worked hard but had the most amazing time being away and just enjoyed time with their family.  They have the best children.  Their oldest daughter just blows me away how focused and determined she is.  She goes to a Catholic school that goes to school 6 days a week!  She was up almost every night to almost midnight studying.  She just blows me away!  Their youngest son kept me laughing every minute!  I truly miss them and the time I had there.  It was very sad to leave and I hope to visit again soon.
