Sleeping in? You Fool!

Why is when you have a day you can sleep in you just can’t? Your body and mind wake up and you’re ready to rock and roll at 7am!! I guess I should look at is an hour more of sleep then I usually get. I’m mentally squeezing that optimist that raises their ugly head every once in awhile in my life. What a minute it wasn’t me waking up on my own, it’s all coming back to me. I was awoken by the toilet paper roll noise; my house guest was spinning the toilet paper roll like it was a wheel. Who knew that a toilet paper roll could make that much noise? Well now I know since he was beating on it like a drum. Then went back to his room and promptly slammed the door, really dude it’s attached and it’s an interior door not a lot of force is needed.

Since I’m already up I’m going to go curl up on the couch and have some me time. Silly optimist I thought I pushed you down? Not shortly after I get up the whole house is up and running, well except Rick he actually left at 6am to work the tailgate party and then the Sea-Hawks Game. So much for being lazy today, I better get breakfast going before grumpy does the turtle thing. You know comes out of his room peeks around the corner in the kitchen, then walks slowly up to the living room peeks around that corner, looks at me then turns around and goes back into his room. Throw together a quick omelet and start doing the dishes, then I move on to more laundry (I think the neighbor must have added in his again … LOL). After breakfast clean up yet again the dishes and the table, I really wonder how much food makes it in the boys’ mouth!

A real relaxed day I even got a nap in while the boys did woo-hoo! We even made a quick trip to Wal-Mart which made everyone happy to get out of the house, like I keep them locked away (my teenager want-to-be thinks so). So much fun we had with a high energy 4 year old and a 10 year old who thinks he is now the parent and keeps giving stern directions, HELLO am I not standing here right next to you? This weekend was not a good time to push me I finally reached my boiling point and had a few of my own stern talks about pushing and pinching. Just because someone is in your personal space doesn’t give you a right to push, punch or pinch (the 3 “P” rule is now in place).

Once home I started dinner and unpacked the groceries, I even got Cole’s lunch made. Feed everyone and even had a moment to talk on the phone with a friend, a nice night minus the silent treatment from my house guest. Oh well guess a goodnight to you also! Finished up the last load of laundry for the day, hung up everyone’s clothes took a batch to grumpy boy who ignored my knocks and call of his name, after a few attempts I knocked and walked in. Still my house I need to take it back and not let a child run it, Today I stand strong and not taking anymore crap! LOL … ok at least I’m trying.

I think they're all against me ...

And you thought yesterday couldn't get anymore hair pulling, well then you would be wrong. After work I picked up the 4 kids, met a lady at Freddie's to sell her the Skunk costume (I love Craigslist only one costume left) and then I had the bright idea to stop by the grocery store. Really I think I have a relapse every time of what the last time was like, it's like having a baby you only think of the cute little bundle of joy not the pain that went with that! Yup I did just compare grocery shopping with 4 kids to child birth, deal with it!

So our short ride to the grocery store should have been a warning to turn back and go home, but no I really need bananas and half and half. During our drive Khari keeps pulling the babies hand which makes him cry and Cole yell at Khair to knock it off and Roy just sits there looking annoyed. I want to turn to him and go you're annoyed, really try being me for a day! We get to the grocery store where I put the two little ones in the cart and let the older 2 walk. Which of course lead to Cole running around like a madman, me raising my voice and using his full name several times. Really moms why do we use the full name, I know it's something our parents did but is it the magic words or just the tone of our voice or maybe it just makes us feel better ... I'll go with that! By this time I'm speed walking thru the grocery store just wanting to get out of there. I'm on the last isle when I look down at Khari in the cart. This is when I see that she has taken the bag of cocktail wieners and biten the WHOLE bag, she's done this to me before with a block of cheese. At this point I almost lost my cookies and of course I was one of those bad people that switched out the bag for a new one since that one was ruined. Ok stop sighing at me I know it really wasn't the right thing to do but I really might have screamed at the top of my lungs or started crying. Next shopping trip (I know I'm crazy like that) with all the kids I'm going to center Khari with can goods nothing she can bite threw.

I finally check out and get to the car where Roy opens the door and hops right in, sure no problem a little help is not needed. I load the 3 kids in the car and then put the bags in the car and walk the cart back. We head home and by this time I'm ready to put everyone in the corner for their behavior. We pull in the driveway and Roy bolts for the door. Not so fast young man your part of my family and you're going to help! So I ask him to help me with the bags, I turn around to grab one. I turn back around to pass a bag and to my surprise he's gone, I look up and he's at the door. Ugh ... please for once give me a break! I call him back over to the car to help, I pass him the one bag and ask him to wait and I'll give him another. Yup that was pushing it, by the time I turn around the 2nd time he's gone. I call for him to come back and help but no luck he literally dropped the bag on the kitchen table and went into his room and shut the door! Fine no worries I'll just load the kids in, the groceries, prepare YOUR dinner and then oh yeah clean YOUR dishes also! Yup I so got this handled!

I get in the cupboard to find I only have 1 CAN of sloppy joe mix (nice to know since I was JUST AT THE GROCERY STORE), ok I'm about to loose it. About this time the speed race called Cole and Khari start after threatening to throw them both in the corner they slow down for a total of 2 minutes. Cole must have ate a TON of sugar since he was bouncing off the walls and keeps getting sent to the corner, if I could enforce it Khari and Caden would be there too. By this time Tarra shows up with hamburger and get this Banana's (yup could have skipped the store since they were out of half and half and the banana's looked horrible). I quick switch of plans and it's hamburgers tonight which made Roy happy since he let me know that he really didn't like the menu I had planned earlier. He asks everyday what is on the menu, to be honest kid I don't know until I get there and open the cupboard sorry I'm not the school and have a schedule printed up!

During our time in the kitchen we tired to enforce the no kids in the kitchen which was fine with the 2 older ones, now the younger ones where the challenge. I kept chasing Caden back out, while Tarra tired to keep Khari on the chair (I think we're both trying to get the ringing from the screams out of our ears) ... oh house rules how dare us parents be so mean! I know we'll be the topic of therapy years to come! Thankfully dinner was quiet for the most part and Rick showed up and took the two older ones to the mall for Roy to get some new "Non-Skull" hoodies that he can wear at school. Finally peace and quiet, well as much as you can get with two toddlers cranky and needing sleep. I so know you want to Wife Swap with me, don't deny it!

Humpty is glued back together ..

Well thanks to my mom I made it to the Chiro yesterday who informed me that I was twisted. Really you think ... oh you mean my back? So after some serious popping and twisting, I know feel like a what a twizzler may feel like except I'm not that yummy strawberry wannabe taste. I guess if I use lip gloss ... HMMM ok back to the story.

Yesterday turned out oh so much better than I thought it would since the morning was a scary wake up call. After going to the Chiro and sitting for 1 hour, I got back to the rooms. They have been bought out by a new doctor and now you have a scan card to check in at the receptionist desk and when you get in the room. I felt like I was at the grocery store instead of getting a discount I get the same high bill and I'm doing more of the work, go figure! So I go sit in the room mind you with the door open glad I'm not wearing one of those backless gowns. The doc comes in and has me hop on the board, I guess hop is a stretch of the word. I would say hobble on try to lay on it while holding my shirt down and thinking to myself I really should have washed my hair, or you know deodorant! Oh yeah I was a site for soar eyes or even better only a face a mom could love. Believe me if mom knew she could say something about my appearance she would have, but thankfully she knew I was in too much pain and hey made sure I was wearing black socks with my black pants. I started the day with white ones and black shoes until Rick was so sweet and helped me since I couldn't touch my toes. Oops sorry went off track there, after being turned on my side and then forward into a bear hug I was feeling pretty good. I was told to put ice on and only lie down or walk around. So of course I opted for walking since me lying down was never going to happen. Mom and I went to Freddies and did some shopping, and even better mom bought me a yummy pumpkin spice latte! Which no I didn't spill on my shirt, well at least that you could see since it was a dark color shirt.

I was such a mess and to make life even funnier I decided that more walking would do the trick. Actually it wasn't too bad and it did help. Tarra ended up getting off early so she came and picked me up (I did get one ice in before we left). We headed over to Costco and go some yummy stuff for dinner and of course cookies because what meal would be complete with out cookies. After our Costco trip we found that we were running really behind so we swung around and picked up the kids. Now that was a site you think my car is packed each night, Tarra's' was full to the max!

We safely made it home unpacked and started dinner with only 1 trip to the store, we won't tell them Tarra that you passed the store and ended up going to a different one :). Over all my worst day turned into a pretty good day I'm feeling much better and actually had a pretty good day. I ended up going to bed and let everyone else stay up and watch The Happenings a scary movie which I don't do! So there it is I've been told I'm twisted and not just mentally! And I got icy hot rubbed on my bum by mom. How else would you pull your pants down for and let them rub stinky stuff?? Got to love moms they really do come in handy even when your older! Remember that kids!

I'm out of here I need to go get ready for our "Mommy and Me playdate" at Auntie Heathers house. Got to love a place where you can let the kids run and mommy's get to drink wine! I'm so there. Hey wine will help with the back right?

Did you wake up the right side finally?

So today we're back to happy go luck everyone loves being part of the family. Even give the chance to stay home while I take the boys with me, he opts to go with us? But of course as soon as we come home the door is shut. Now do I push this rule and make my shelf stressed out or do I let a rule to be broken and almost shoved into my face? Which is worse stress or your pride being stepped on? At this point I'm not sure if I have the fight or the pride left in me. Rick says just leave it, let him act like this is a hotel. But the whole point of this is to experience our life? I'm so not sure I even want to go on and then I have to tell them he's not listening to the rules and he's sneaking food in to the room. This was clever I think I might have done this trick when I was young (and maybe have done it last week with a peace of chocolate at my moms house, I'm not even going to tell you). The trick is to sneak into the kitchen, gently open the cupboard and take your item out, quickly shove it under your shirt. Then slyly walking almost sideways to your bedroom nonchalantly holding your shirt. Yup never a dead give away that your sneaking food or have that look on your face. Am I being punished for the things I put my parents thru? Isn't it suppose to be my kids doing it to me, not a kid I'm helping!

So today we went to a birthday party and I even took the boys to buy footballs to play with. Some how it has been assumed that they are for the people and not ones I bought for the house. Guess I'm just going to have to eat it and not say anything. Today was a great day he helped with Cole all day long. They played nice and even ate nice together. So I guess just letting the door be closed is my ticket. I eat crow and my household is at peace. But hey don't get too comfortable I'm sure I'll get another email that will totally blind side me!

On a positive note I started the Saturday morning show and it went really well, so no more late Friday nights. Just early Saturday mornings and Saturday late nights. Hopefully I can pick up these hours and get a little extra money to help out. Who knows when the octopus will drop the shoe that pulls him out of here and that extra money will be gone. So we'll just plan like we don't have any extra. The little I get after I pay for food and all the other stuff really isn't worth my hair falling out, which it has been. It also could be my diet, but I'll blame stress.

And the sicky boy begins

Well yesterday I said Caden was sick, well we now have entered the world of cranky sick boy! Let me tell you the fun we had last night, we would get a 1/2 of sleep bliss and then we would wake up and would scream for an hour! Then the bliss of sleep would take over for a 1/2 hour and we would start the fun all over again! I think I got maybe an hour of sleep or two, oh since I'm such a nice wife and knew there was no way I was going to work I took Caden and I out to the living room and made a bed on the floor. So not only do I have bed head, no sleep and a huge pain in the butt (no not Caden and actual pain in the butt from sleeping on the floor).

I let the other two boys sleep in before I took them to school. Then back home for a little sleep right? Who am I kidding Caden was back awake by this time! So it looks like no sleep for me. I do manage to go grocery shopping, hit the library and the doctors office! Yup as Rick would say it was a VACATION day for me!

I'm so going to bed now, before I fall over maybe tonight Caden will sleep. Oh Shush your mouth I know it won't happen but I'm not already in my dream state while I'm standing here!

Taxi Hat Back On ...

I think I have a new calling as a taxi driver. I got to work barely got my butt on the seat before I headed out to take a co-worker to the airport. I dropped him off and headed back to the office, before I left the office I grabbed my book on CD thinking good I can finish this on my way back. Well in theory that is a PERFECT plan, but it helps if you take the car with a CD player. I of course grab the ONE company car with out with, who heard of a car with only a tape player. It's not like this is an old car or anything, so there went that plan. I of course got stuck in traffic so no CD and just the radio that I swear was on a commercial streak. Do you think I can complain anymore? LOL

I was planning to leave a little early to do a few errands before I had to pick up the kids, no of course everything was going smoothly. That is until about 2pm when I'm told 2 jobs are going to hit my desk soon that need to go out today. That's no problem I can get those out with some help. As soon as the first job hits my desk, my boss comes in with a delivery that needs to also go out today that should be coming my way soon. Yup I know never ever make plans to get out early as soon as the thought goes into my mind, the switch goes on to bring on the craziness to Alexis. So here it is 2:30pm and I'm off to Auburn, but I think someone was looking down on me and the traffic was good there and going back to the office. I'm back and it looks like I may get out on time instead of early. My helper and I work hard and get everything packed up and I run out the door.

And the race begins I pick Roy up and then head to pick Caden and Khari up. Before I pick up Cole we stop by the grocery shopping, since I've learned that 3 kids is my max for shopping experiences. We ran thru the store and picked up a few items and then went to pick up Cole. Now I should have known something was wrong when a teacher was waiting at the door at me! Oh crap now this is a very sweet lady, but here's the picture she's about 4' 9" and wow was that a stern look. I wanted to cry myself at this moment, yikes is all I can say to be a kid when she's made at them. So it looks like Cole had an accident he got to playing and didn't tell them he had to go poop. So instead he tried to hide it and I have no clue what happened but it got all over his clothes. You want to see an embarrassed Alexis, lead me into a bathroom where you have a teacher wearing plastic gloves and wipes, cleaning up your child. She hands me a bag with Cole's clothes and I wanted to hide myself. After cleaning him up and putting him in some clothes they had we headed towards the door. I wanted Cole to say sorry to his teachers, of course by now he's embarrassed himself and won't look at her. This made the situation worse and had the teacher very upset. Cross your fingers we'll have a better day tomorrow!

We get home and Cole goes and hides on the couch. I get going on dinner when Tarra comes in. Sounds like I'm not the only one with craziness going on in my life. I finish up dinner and get everyone dressed and ready for bed. I'm about to sit down when Roy's uncle would like to talk to me, did I mention I took a shower right before this and looked like a wet rat? Oh yeah video conference is oh so much fun! The whole time I'm trying to shake my head oh so gracefully to get the water out of my ears and oh yeah fluff my soaked hair. I didn't have time to completely dry off when I heard the knock on the bathroom! I'm sure I made a lovely 1st impression, at least it was memorable! After this I started to hook up the new Internet, after 45 minutes of clicking next I gave up. Made Cole's lunch, while Rick took him on a little drive to have a "talk" about today and the importance of going to the bathroom and NOT hiding it if you have an accident. I have a feeling a bribe was given of a new goldfish! I feel like I'm back in school and don't want to go tomorrow because I'm embarrassed, I can only imagine what Cole feels like and what tomorrow morning is going to have in store for me. During this time Caden is having his new "nightly" freak out doesn't want milk, doesn't want to be held, doesn't want to be left alone fit. So I clean up and let him do his thing, when all of a sudden it's real quite. This usually means trouble and I better run quick where the last noise came from. But to my surprise this is what I found:

Rick brought Cole home and everyone seemed to be in a better mood, Cole of course woke Caden up. So I put Cole to bed and feed Caden real quick. Rick and I had a great time catching up on today's events and finally I think I better head to bed. Tomorrow really does have to be better right? It's Friday tomorrow right?
