Mommy Playdates not for the weak ...

Today we went to Heather's house for a Mommy and Me Play-date let me just say when Heather throws a party she goes all out. She had 2 tables set up one for the kids and one for the adults with everything you could think of to eat. And you know I could disappoint so I of course had to try everything. And when I say try I mean gorge myself that when I finally got home I could barely get out of the car. Now answer me this why is when we find something we like being clothes, food etc we go overboard? Yup that was me couldn't just taste things and enjoy them no I had to keep going. Heather so had the right idea to keep moving that way she didn't' sit down in front of the food.

Beside a little screaming the kids had fun playing outside while us mommies hung out and had some very yummy Raspberry Fizz that had some pomegranate vodka in it that was to die for. I mean it tasted so good that you could drink several glasses and not know it until you tried to stand up and ran into the wall. Hey maybe that is what happened to Caden, you look shocked that something happened to one of my boys. I mean we can't even go to anyone house with out some type of battle wound. My boys they really love to add artwork in the black and blue form to their bodies. So this is the story Cole of course was running around into the back instead of staying up front with all the kids. I run out the slider to tell him to get his butt back in front. I turn to walk back into the house to see Caden hot my tail and before I could reach for him he trips and turns his face right into the metal track on the side of the door. Oh yeah talk about a panic mommy, with in seconds of falling a HUGE bump appeared. And when I say huge I mean it looked like a baseball had popped out of his head and of course it was right were a vein is so it looked 10 times worse. I really thought it was going to pop and blood would gush out, ok I know but what ca I say I'm a mom that worries. Thankfully after an hour and some Tylenol that Heather AWESOME neighbor ran to the store and bought (isn't that the kindest thing you've ever heard) the bump had gone down. Now all that is left is a nice gash on his head, I think he was trying to match the one that Cole did 6 months ago that is now an awesome scar on his head.

Here is Caden and our beautiful Host Heather
Oh you mean you can't see the bump, how about now!

After all that excitement we headed inside with all the kids and started on an art project! Heather is the best hostest ever besides making food for everyone, and yummy cocktails for the mommies, she bought pails and Halloween puffy stickers to decorate them. Now all the kids have trick or treating pails, wasn't that the nicest thing ever! I so need to be a party thrower like Heather, ok that would mean yet another ball in the air but it sounds like an amazing idea! So after a little help from the mommies for the little ones everyone had really cool pails. Caden kept trying to steal everyone, so I promised him (yes I know he's only 15 mo and can't understand me) that I would go buy him one today that I of course will decorate just for him to drag it around the house, not that it will even make it to Halloween night. We then got all the kids together outside to take a picture of all of them, Shannon told them to put them on their heads. So here is the crew all decked out like Pail heads (so reminded me of Sponge Bob movie when plankton made everyone wear bucket on their heads ... ok I'm getting of track).

Here is a picture of all the kids and their "Bucket heads" (can you believe we had all these kids in Heather's apartment?)

Cole had to pose for one by himselfAren't they cute. Caden & Khari Best Buds (well at this moment I didn't capture the other moments ... ha-ha)

What an amazing day the day was perfect the kids played outside, Caden took a nap and you know I had to stay by his side so I layed down with him. Not because I needed sleep before I feel over or anything =P. When we got up we watched movies The Love Guru which according to it's PG13 rating was pushing the envelope, it was a little on the nasty side and not even that funny. Then we put in Golden Compass I tried to give it a second chance and still couldn't get over my first thoughts of it. The kids then came in and played Guitar Hero which Roy did extremely well at and Cole even tried he hasn't gotten into the video game stage yet which is fine by me. During this time Shannon and her 3 kids left so it was just a few of us and of course I couldn't leave we now were onto pomegranate martinis, yup I'm such a wimp and died at my first taste. Everyone else took a ship and said they couldn't taste the Vodka, leave it to me to be the sour puss. At this point we were on our second (or should I say 3rd) time around with the food. Then Heather broke out the new game she bought Harry Potter Scene it! Heather played with Roy and Bailey and I was with Cole and Tyson. Tyson didn't even need me that boy knew all the answers I think I only helped with one he didn't know. We or should I say he won the game for us. The game, it was very cool it was attached with a DVD player that you used for clues and questions. It was a lot of fun!

Here we are playing Harry Potter Scene it
(of course not me in the picture I'm the picture taker)

We got home with enough time for me to take a little nap before I started my 2nd job of the day. Which was packed with orders and not too many cranks I can't ask for more. I did get 2 frat boys who thought it would be funny to pretend I was a pizza place. Where do they come up with this crap, I really would like to know. Over all an amazing Saturday!

Caden says good-night look my bump is better!

Humpty is glued back together ..

Well thanks to my mom I made it to the Chiro yesterday who informed me that I was twisted. Really you think ... oh you mean my back? So after some serious popping and twisting, I know feel like a what a twizzler may feel like except I'm not that yummy strawberry wannabe taste. I guess if I use lip gloss ... HMMM ok back to the story.

Yesterday turned out oh so much better than I thought it would since the morning was a scary wake up call. After going to the Chiro and sitting for 1 hour, I got back to the rooms. They have been bought out by a new doctor and now you have a scan card to check in at the receptionist desk and when you get in the room. I felt like I was at the grocery store instead of getting a discount I get the same high bill and I'm doing more of the work, go figure! So I go sit in the room mind you with the door open glad I'm not wearing one of those backless gowns. The doc comes in and has me hop on the board, I guess hop is a stretch of the word. I would say hobble on try to lay on it while holding my shirt down and thinking to myself I really should have washed my hair, or you know deodorant! Oh yeah I was a site for soar eyes or even better only a face a mom could love. Believe me if mom knew she could say something about my appearance she would have, but thankfully she knew I was in too much pain and hey made sure I was wearing black socks with my black pants. I started the day with white ones and black shoes until Rick was so sweet and helped me since I couldn't touch my toes. Oops sorry went off track there, after being turned on my side and then forward into a bear hug I was feeling pretty good. I was told to put ice on and only lie down or walk around. So of course I opted for walking since me lying down was never going to happen. Mom and I went to Freddies and did some shopping, and even better mom bought me a yummy pumpkin spice latte! Which no I didn't spill on my shirt, well at least that you could see since it was a dark color shirt.

I was such a mess and to make life even funnier I decided that more walking would do the trick. Actually it wasn't too bad and it did help. Tarra ended up getting off early so she came and picked me up (I did get one ice in before we left). We headed over to Costco and go some yummy stuff for dinner and of course cookies because what meal would be complete with out cookies. After our Costco trip we found that we were running really behind so we swung around and picked up the kids. Now that was a site you think my car is packed each night, Tarra's' was full to the max!

We safely made it home unpacked and started dinner with only 1 trip to the store, we won't tell them Tarra that you passed the store and ended up going to a different one :). Over all my worst day turned into a pretty good day I'm feeling much better and actually had a pretty good day. I ended up going to bed and let everyone else stay up and watch The Happenings a scary movie which I don't do! So there it is I've been told I'm twisted and not just mentally! And I got icy hot rubbed on my bum by mom. How else would you pull your pants down for and let them rub stinky stuff?? Got to love moms they really do come in handy even when your older! Remember that kids!

I'm out of here I need to go get ready for our "Mommy and Me playdate" at Auntie Heathers house. Got to love a place where you can let the kids run and mommy's get to drink wine! I'm so there. Hey wine will help with the back right?

Help I've fallen and can't get up

Ok I guess I could get up but once my feet reached the ground I couldn't move and had to scream for Rick to help me. Not sure what the heck happen to me but I woke up with the WORST pain literally in my butt. And this time its not one of the kids ... go figure I finally got what I've been complaining about for years a PAIN IN THE BUTT, I know I'm so lucky. So lucky that when I put my feet on the ground, which let me tell you was a chore, I got a shooting pain that ran down my leg. At this point I start screaming for Rick who actually got right out of bed. Well there went that theory that if the house was burning down I couldn't get him to wake up, but it did prove my 2nd theory that he chooses to ignore me most mornings! So 1 for 2 not so bad of odds, right? After being so gently pushed back on to the death trap aka my bed, I lay there in agony waiting for the pain to leave. Of course it doesn't so plan 2 is hot water in the shower. Now I must give Rick HUGE Kudos he actually got me undressed and started the shower and stood there in case I needed him. Nope you didn't read that wrong, the boy actually was extremely helpful and get this he turned off the shower ... don't fall off your chair on this one he dried me off!! I know I couldn't believe it either, but at the time all I could think about was standing naked there. I know were married but gravity oh so much nicer when your laying down then when your standing, 2 kids and the old body was not my friend! So after that he half carried me to the couch, pre-babies he could have swung me over his shoulder not so much these days! Enough about that hold on to your hats ladies he was full of surprises today! He actually got breakfast for Roy, got Cole dressed and with a little help even got the baby dressed. He then loaded everyone in the car and took them to the morning destinations! Did I mention not even complaining once! I'm not sure who this new man is, but I'm so keeping him! No returns or refunds needed here!

Perched on my couch in my warm front room since he even turned the heater on for me. I tried to find the spot that hurt the least. Since no pain was not an option I looked for the path with lease resistance! When Rick returned he even brought me breakfast, ok it was a totally greasy breakfast sandwich but hey at least he tried and at this point I'm not going to complain. So here I am a few hours later feeling better but still moving like a turtle or an injured rat that got her leg caught in a trap (sorry couldn't resist). I broke down and called my mommy, thankfully she's still on strike. Not I'm sure thankful for her that she's still on strike but I'm thankful since I could call her and beg for help. She even called the chiro and made the appointment for me, she's coming to pick me up here in an hour. I love mommies, don't the rock! So I'll post now but hopefully I'll be non-broken later and can post again to tell you how much fun I'm having!

Broken signing off for now! Pray the doc can put humpty back together or at least with a little glue just be cracked. =D

How many balls can I juggle in the air?

I guess not many since I think they tumbled down around me today! I took the morning off since I'm serving refreshments at the Grandparents Day at Cole's School! So of course I have this idea that today will be a relaxed morning I can't sleep in a little and maybe even watch a TV show I've had DVR'd but haven't had a moment to watch since you know I'm the maid. So this is the morning that Caden decides he needs to be up at 6:30am, which hey is a 1/2 hour more then usual right? So after some whining from Rick that we're breaking into his sleep time ... a heavy sigh and maybe just a little whack from me we go into the front room. Where I'm blurry eyed trying to watch something my mind couldn't even wrap itself around. Around an hour later, at least that is what the clock told me it was I woke Roy up for breakfast. I get this brilliant idea to heat up ego's for him, well that would be ok if we had syrup but since I used the last of it this weekend it made for jelly on ego's sound yummy right? Then after some prodding I get him to get in the car to take him to school. I drop him off 1st look at Caden who of course is now asleep and then 2nd look at the clock. OH crap I need to get back home to get Cole up and take him to school, no time to go the 5 blocks to grandma's house to drop Caden off. So I rush back home, barely get him dressed and pass him one of those bagel wraps (thanks Anng for the idea) well I love them come to find out Cole does not. Well glad they have snacks in class today. I drop Cole off only 2 minutes late, hey that was good time since I got home with less then 20 minutes to get him dressed and there. I get back home with 40 minutes to get dressed and actually brush my hair and put make-up. REALLY who was I kidding that today would be a cake walk, it totally sucks! After 10 minutes and I'm ironing shirt #2 since #1 had a huge stain on the front (who knows why I had it hanging up) I do a little math in my head and know there is no way I'm making it to drop Caden off and back to be at the school. I nudge Rick oh so nicely and ask him to take Caden, which he was so happy to do ... no really I didn't get any flack!

I made it in record time and I must say so myself looked rather put together, I even found my light blue trench coat to put me together (ok it's 1 size to small and I couldn't button it, but hey it completed the look). I was on Coffee and Punch duty another mother and I rocked it and got everything ready. I even got a quick bathroom break and saw Cole standing up there singing! He was so freaking CUTE!! He was doing all the hand gestures and everything! Talk about proud mom! I had to hurry back to the kitchen because soon the lunch room was no longer quiet, we got pounced on I mean if we had 6 hands apiece we might have been able to keep up with 200+ people descending on us like killer bees. Ok so it really wasn't that bad but it was crazy for a steady hour. When the pack cleared back we cleaned and even broke down chairs and tables. We even got a lecture from the lunch lady how you need to pile the cookies not make them look pretty, hey lady where here helping be nice.

Here are a few pictures from Grandparents Day, Monnie was picture taker and didn't figure out the zoom button. She was so great she stayed and had cookies with Cole. And then she took Cole for the day, he was on cloud 9. They had an amazing day, I only could wish I could go the rest of my day wasn't so great ... read below.

Cole in his new hoodie (like Roys) and new lime shirt

There is my monnie. Later I found out he was making hand gestures for mom's high hair and then for gesturing around his mouth to show her red lips. It was too funny, late the kid asked her if she had a birds nest on her head. Mom is known for her wild style and red lips that just fit her perfect!

Doing the song with all the hand gestures.Cookies and Juice with Monnie

Taking a nap after a long day with Monnie.
I made it to work close to 11am, not bad for a days work. Oh wait I still have to do my job too? So I got busy getting everything ready and out the door. Today was just one of those days. One thing I also pondered was how we get mixed signals in our personal life and work life. You know you ask about something and are told don't worry and then all of a sudden you get it back with feedback. I'm not sure where these mixed signals came from, why don't we just help everyone out and just be this is what we want, instead of hitting someone in the gut with something different later on. No need to go any further on this it's just something I've been thinking about that and was to just improve and not over think why did that just happen. Ok I'll go back to not over analysing things!

I couldn't to get home and just collapse on the couch and let my thoughts not over take me! I got an amazing gift tonight, my house cleaner started tonight. It was just the pick me up I needed. While I got dinner ready, she started on the bathroom put a load in the dryer and even started another load for me. Did I mention that she even cleaned the lint trap? I mean thank you Lord I so needed this! She completely cleaned the bathroom top to bottom and even fixed the robe fixture that has been loose for let me think 2 YEARS, yup she's a keeper. She ended in the kitchen wiping down the counters, sweeping and then mopped the floors. I was able to get everyone to bed and even folded the laundry. Yes it was just what I needed for this crazy day, or should I say crazy month!

Hit me with your best shot ...

My life has now become a cliche of my favorite songs we start with with Pat Benetar belting it out and we end with Freddie Murcury of Queen singing my defeat with another one bites the dust.

Yesterday is just another example of Murphy's Law in the dictionary has a picture of me. As Jill would say if I didn't have bad luck I'd have no luck at all! I must say that the new book I'm reading or should I say listening to since reading a book doesn't happen in my current world so I know listen to them on CD. What would I do with out the library, at least for brief moments I can drift off to a dream world before I so rudely get yanked back into the REAL WORLD.

Monday is the day that I pick up one of our employees at the airport, the usual time is 8:30am which is perfect time for me to get there and back to the office before I have to pick Cole up. Well that is usually the plan before the airlines decide to send me a HUGE curve ball. The curve ball is the flight was delayed and would be in at 10:50, ok that gives me 55 minutes to pick him up, drop him off and then leave to pick Cole up. NO worries I can do this, where the heck do I get this positive attitude? Nothing ever works just perfect there is always some kink and yet this day will not be any exception! After driving in a circle 5 count them 5 times, I call the office who gives the guy a call. The call went right to voicemail which lead me to believe he's still on the flight. So I find the cell phone lot which was so easy to find not, I won't tell you about the car I accidentally cut off and honked and gave me a lovely wave. Well I'm so not getting to Cole in time and Rick had the day off so I thought ok he can pick him up for me. Again what am I thinking, it's HIS day off which means its a day for him. Dummy me thinking he wouldn't mind running over there to pick Cole up and taking him to daycare. I really need to knock off this positive thinking thing its just a huge let down each time! After a few nice words that I could muster up we disconnect and I continue my waiting. Finally after being at the airport 1 hour I get the call to go pick him up. I go to the spot I usually pick him up, again after 3 times around the airport I'm getting frustrated and my head is starting to hurt. Finally I get a hold of him to find he's on a different level. There goes that morning!

The rest of the day didn't get any better! You know how you can ask someone should I do this different, they say no don't worry about it it's not a big deal don't spend the time. Then you get the item back with mark ups with the comments you were told to ignore. Yup that is the way the rest of my day went. I was so happy to get in my car and go pick the boys up. Roy went to Extended Care after school and the host people said he can go from now on! Good I'll pick up my boys and then pick him up since he's down the same street. Then I can go to the bank and post office and then go lay down to get rid of this headache. Well I got to the extended care where it is now pouring down. I run down to get him to find he is not there! The other host family took him home with them! You got to be kidding me now I have to drive all the way back to were my office is. I called to let them know what happened and was received with an icy tone, just what I need. My head is now fully throbbing and I just need to go, but instead I have to go up to the door and play nice. Not an easy task when you want to take your eyeball out and relieve the pressure! I make it to the bank right at 6pm, I'm about to pull forward when the gal shuts the blinds! Guess that means I'm not going to the bank! So I'm barely seeing out of one eye and try to get out of there, in doing this I hit the curb which of course scraps off some paint and leave a lovely yellow shade on my car! By this time I'm almost in tears and call Rick to come home. At first he was like WTF Alexis, but I think he heard it in my voice that he better hurry home! I go lie down in bed when Caden decides to stand at my door crying. So I bring him in with me, which is not fun since the lights are off. Finally Rick got home and took all the boys to the mall. Wow I finally found the point that I get help! I just need to be in excruciating pain and close to tears! Yup now isn't that a great way to get help. You got it I was done and I'm the one who bite the dust!

What can I do to make them sleep?

Last night I ended my 2nd job around 1:45ish got into bed and had sugar plum dreams of sleeping in. Yeah right how am I kidding I was just hoping for maybe a few winks before the mutiny started. So following suit Caden woke up at 3am, 4am, 5am then he gave me a little break and slept until 6:30am!!! Since Rick was so sweet (NOT) yesterday about getting up with him I knew it was my morning. I made a bottle took him to the couch and hoped I could get him to fall back to sleep no such luck Roy woke up and sat down with us and of course started to play with him. My mom's death look was off or maybe he really does just ignore me, who knows! After a few minutes Cole gets up! At this time I'm about to loose my biscuits and ask everyone even though no one is listening to me, what the heck are you all doing up at 7am? Yup My tone fell on def ears, everyone just went about playing and oh yeah whining that they were hungry. Hungry really that is the least of your problems, you have a mom on your hands who had 6 hours the night before and now 4 1/2 hours today of sleep. Again I just got looks like so what where is our breakfast! I think I need to go back to mom 101 to get my death look fixed, it's really off!

Since no one was going back to sleep and my coffee was helping keep my eyelids at half mass I made french toast with that amazing white bread I made last week. Can I tell you how much I love my bread maker and all these awesome recipes. You bakers rock by posting them with all your little tweaks. Ok back to breakfast ... I put back on my Cinderella apron made every ones breakfast put one aside for me for sometime this morning. Then cleaned up what somehow missed their mouths, did the dishes yet again. And yet again rinsed the plates that were just shoved into the sink even though I've asked around 20 times to rinse them!! Since Cinderella's apron is on I'll do laundry and why not do the sheets while I'm at it. Then Grumpy butt wakes up I give him his breakfast, in the mean time walking by mine once more hey it's cold but I'll take a bite I might finish it before noon. I got grumpy out the door and even had time to take a quick shower with only 3 times Cole coming in to tattletale on Roy.

After that great adventure I clean the floors put in my 5th load of laundry no joke! The lady from craigslist stops by and picks up the Chili Pepper costume, yeah only 3 more to go! While I'm cleaning Roy and Cole go in the room to play. While I go back to put #5 in the dryer and #6 in the washer I walk into my bedroom. To find a white dusting on all the clean clothes I haven't folded yet. I think I'm going to loose it, then I go into Cole's room and see it all over his bed, the baby's bed. I run out to the living room, count to 10, and ask nicely what the HECK happened here. Of course Roy has no idea and says it must have been Cole, oh come on guys you both were playing together. I ask them both do you think I don't clean enough, plus of course you had to pick the baby powder that is not the generic version that also was the medicated so it was super expensive. Oh yeah did I mention it was a NEW bottle and it was completely EMPTY!! I look closer at my bedroom and see it everywhere. I think I might just cry, so instead I go online and sign us up for members at the Children's Museum even though it's $75 for a year it's so great to just take them there to run. Also had to hear it from Rick that spending that money, he just doesn't understand my sanity is worth every penny!

We get dressed and head over to the library to pick up new books for all. Only had to hear Cole yell across the library 3 times, hey were doing better. Then we head to down town Tacoma to take the Light Rail to the Museum. Heck the ride is free, parking is free and the kids are excited to ride it .... really a win win! We get there they have their new exhibit set up ... The Raven after the book. It was pretty cool the kids had fun, well I thought they did until Roy came up to me to tell me he's bored. Oh geez dude we're out of the house and they have painting, drawing, magnet's and a blocks use your imagination and deal with it. Instead I just smile and turn around and bite my tongue, I think I might not have a tongue left soon! 2 hours and everyone is feeling better so we head back out and of course as we're walking down to the tram we see it pass, did I mention it's Sunday so it comes every 20 MINUTES. So I go buy some drinks and a bag of Frito's to share, Roy must have really liked him he almost to the bag out of my hand and ate it. We get back to the car all in one peace, no one is crying including me so it had to be a success right?

Here we are all happy waiting for the tram

The scene in the car when we got home
To bad that didn't last until we got home, I put Caden to sleep and Cole went to sleep on the couch. Well Roy wasn't tired so he woke Cole up, my head was feeling so heavy I just had to take my chances and go take a nap. When I awoke it was to a screaming Caden, you know what I found. Roy and Cole with the light on standing over the crib, really boys was that necessary? Then I go into the living room were I find raisins on the floor, fruit snack wrappers everywhere and the room I just cleaned this morning trashed once again. I think you need to lock me up and put me in a padded room, it may be the only peace and quiet and down time I'll ever get. Guess what I did, yes another load of laundry just to make my day better! Thankfully mom called and send home a casserole with Rick. He was her yard slave all day, good pay back for what my weekends are like.

Now I'm going to lay down watch TV and maybe if I can go to bed early. Oh those sugar plum dreams, who really am I kidding?
