Thursday DVD Review ~ A little Bit of Everything

Some great movies, and not so great along with TV movies and TV shows :). It's been a busy week here, lack of sleep results in movie watching :). Oh how thee loves stress.

This is more geared for Rick I tried to watch but it's more of a guy flick. It did have some cute parts and you'll the characters. But some of it is total guy humor. Adult content.

When he starts dating drop-dead gorgeous Molly (Alice Eve), insecure airport security agent Kirk (Jay Baruchel) can't believe it. As his friends and family share their doubts about the relationship lasting, Kirk does everything he can to avoid losing Molly forever. Kyrsten Ritter, Lindsay Sloane, Jasika Nicole and Andrew Daly also star in this charming romantic comedy about unlikely lovers. Jim Field Smith directs

This movie starts out a little slow and dark I almost gave up but about 25 min in it gets light and you fall in love with the characters. It's a little weird to see Robert Pattinson in the role but you get use to it. It has a cute plot and then a serious plot that comes to light. It will make you cry at the end, get your tissue ready!

Still reeling from a heartbreaking family event and his parents' subsequent divorce, Tyler Hawkins (Robert Pattinson) discovers a fresh lease on life when he meets Ally Craig (Emilie de Ravin), a gregarious beauty who witnessed her mother's death. But as the couple draws closer, the fallout from their separate tragedies jeopardizes their love. Allen Coulter directs this romantic drama that co-stars Pierce Brosnan, Lena Olin and Chris Cooper.

The boys LOVED this one, it was really a good movie I even caught myself watching it a few times. The boys watched it about 7 times before I could get it back in the mail on Monday. Cole has asked several times if we can buy it. A good family movie.

Want to see a tyrannosaurus wrecked? Look no further than this apocalyptic tale about a herd of dinosaurs (led by docile herbivore Aladar) that must flee its homeland when a meteor shower wreaks havoc. This Disney animated film -- with the usual "right will triumph" message -- includes voice work from D.B. Sweeney, Alfre Woodard, Ossie Davis and Julianna Margulies.

Musical aren't always my gig but this won awards so why not try it out. I tried again to watch it I got threw most of it but I didn't sit the whole time it just couldn't it couldn't keep my attention.

Movie director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) is in the throes of a midlife crisis, struggling to write his film while juggling relationships with wife Luisa (Marion Cotillard), mistress Carla (Oscar nominee Penélope Cruz), muse Claudia (Nicole Kidman), costumer Lilli (Judi Dench) and his mother (Sophia Loren). Rob Marshall (Chicago) helms this Golden Globe-nominated musical based on the Broadway smash; Stacy Ferguson and Kate Hudson co-star.

This is another true story but I couldn't get into it, it had a lot to do with soccer. I thought I would enjoy it because it was based on a true story. I just couldn't get into it, it got ok reviews so maybe it was just me.

In this drama based on real-life events, director Clint Eastwood tells the story of what happened after the end of apartheid when newly elected president Nelson Mandela used the 1995 World Cup rugby matches to unite his people in South Africa. Based on John Carlin's book, the film stars Morgan Freeman as Mandela and Matt Damon (both Oscar nominated) as Francois Pienaar, the captain of the scrappy South African team that makes a run for the championship.

Cole LOVES Dora really I mean talks over and over about Dora. So of course I had to get the new one for him. He loved it, Cole was it's ok ... lol he's not a big Dora fan.

Eternally curious bilingual explorer Dora and her monkey sidekick, Boots, travel all over the world in adventures that take them to exotic locations from pole to pole. Along the way, they learn about a variety of environments across the planet. In this installment of the popular animated children's series from Nickelodeon, the two investigate the South Pole, examine life in the rain forests and enjoy beautiful tropical beaches.

Looking for a funny movie that will make laugh & cry? I haven't watch the twins in a long time and it was great to see them again. I of course cried so you know it's good :).

Tia and Tamera Mowry star as twins Deanna and Danielle Warren, who, even though they may look alike, are anything but identical. When the two sisters plan their grandparents' re-commitment wedding, they start a little sibling rivalry to see who can settle down first and find the perfect boyfriend to bring to the blessed event. Soon enough, they unintentionally begin dating the same man, who believes they are one and the same person. Will true love win in this case of double trouble?

Looking for a good Lifetime Movie, this was full of drama and suspense. It's based on a True Story, I remember hearing about this on the news. I'm not sure all about details if the wife was charged and this was the first true story that didn't have a recap at the end.

"Deadly Honeymoon" follows two young Denver newlyweds, Lindsey (Summer Glau) and Trevor Forrest (Chris Carmack), as they embark on their honeymoon cruise from their picture-perfect wedding in Hawaii. What begins as a dream vacation evolves into a night of wild partying, infidelity and strange encounters with a group of passengers. The next morning the passengers awake to find Trevor missing, presumed to have fallen overboard to his death. But as the investigation proceeds, an FBI Investigator (Zoe McLellan) begins to question if Trevor’s death really was just an accident.

Another of my favorite shows has been cancelled and when the say is it went out with a bang that about says it all! I'm a little shocked that it was cancelled I really thought it was a great show and had a good following. Now it was a little on the Adult content side, but really a good one.

I'm going to miss you Grace but even more Earl the most lovely Angel around!
OMGosh I love love Betty White and I was so excited to find she had a new show! Then Jane from Fraiser & Wendie from Just shoot me and Valerie my weight loss buddy :). You laugh the whole time, it's a riot!

Hot in Cleveland revolves around three fabulous L.A. women of a certain age who are best friends (Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick). Their lives are changed forever when their plane -- headed to Paris for a girls-only celebration -- unexpectedly lands in Cleveland and they soon rediscover themselves in a new 'promised land'. Loving their new home, the women find themselves living under one roof and battling the sassy caretaker (Betty White) of the property they have rented.

  11. Wow, I can barely fit in a movie a week...you are awesome. I really want to see Remember Me. I did see the previews to She's Out Of My League at the theaters and I was cracking up. I am sure the previews already showed all the funny parts.

  13. Love the reviews. We watched Invictus last week and I had a really hard time staying focused. In fact I slept a bit. It had a good ending and story line but I agree with you on not being able to get it to it. Thanks for reviewing ones I was thinking about watching!!

  14. I know I say this all the time but when do you find time? I want to see Nine & Invictus. I will watch them on cable most likely. I watch several of the TNT shows but not Saving Grace. I am a movie fan of Holly Hunter but her voice for some reason gets to me. I thought Hot In Cleveland was cute too! I would like to see Remember Me also.
    Thanks for the reviews.
