We Doodle, We Boo & We Suit Up

These darn boys as color crayons, and even a permanent marker.  I’m telling you some days!!  Thank God Magic Eraser’s can help a little bit, well it helped some.  So let’s just say the art table with coloring items are moved next to my work desk.

Blogger Pics

Saturday after I finished up on Work I got dressed and dressed the boys up.  I did try to find my witch hat (according to Rick’s it’s fitting for me … lol).  The zoo we are members of had what they call Zoo Boo.  Dress up in costumes for a fun day of activities.

Blogger Pics1

Our Tuesday Dinner friends came along with us for some play time!

Blogger Pics2

We feed the goats, did some crafts, saw some cool animals.

Blogger Pics3

I made some lunch for the kids, which we stopped and snacked on a few times.  And check out the cool pumpkin that was carved.

Blogger Pics4

Cole & Rick did some decorating around the house.

Blogger Pics5

Sunday after church we hit JcPenny for a new shirt and tie for picture day at Cole’s school.  Then we went over to the playcenter at the Mall.  We didn’t stay long one little boy kept following Caden and everywhere Caden sat in something this little kid would come up and start yelling at Caden to get out.  One time he even pushed Caden.  I said something and the parents gave ME a dirty look.  NOT once said anything to their kid!

Blogger Pics6

Picture day at Cole’s school.  He thought he was so spiffy, we even (2nd pic) put Dad’s hair gel in!  Last year Cole’s school pic is on their website advertising for the school.  He thinks every year he’ll get his new pic up .. lol.  Poor guy his pants were too big and all I had was a dino belt, which he told me was not cool … lol.

Making the Most of a Labor Day Weekend

Saturday after I finished up work we headed back to the zoo (this time with shoes that stayed on).  We played for a while.

Blogger Pics1

We then watched the shark’s feed which was very fun which we also heard the lady talk and teach us about.  We then went to see the rest of the animals and of course feed the budgies as always Smile.

Blogger Pics2

We then headed up to my parents house for a little family get together. Cole was being a turd wanting to go to the water but we had to wait and little Caden took a racket and pretended it was a guitar and sang a little song.  Of course Cole’s little attitude made for pleasant convo by some.  And yes that is my car in the ditch!! I wasn’t able to park in the drive way so I tried to park on the side then slid into the ditch.  Which meant that I had to wait until the guest left to have my dad pull my car out.  So that also meant I had to put up with comments about Cole’s attitude … UGH.

Blogger Pics3

Finally we got to the water.  I called my friend that I grew up next door to, to see if I could bring her daughter down.  So the boys and I crossed across the yards like I did when I was Cole’s age.  The kids had fun and I was able to sit and relax a bit (yes with out my iPad to read a book, I’ve been called anti social … lol)

Blogger Pics4

The kids even went on the tube that my dad pulled behind the jetski.

Blogger Pics5

Caden and I played around a bit, plus a nice shot of Mt. Rainier.  Then another rock show by Caden and my friends daughter, they were “Rock Stars”.

Blogger Pics6

Sunday we went to church and hung out at home.  Monday we headed back up to my parents house for a little swim and my friend’s and her daughter came down to hang out.  We had a little adult time to talk and the kids got to play. Plus they collected this nasty grass stuff that is coming up from the bottom of the lake and wrapping around the dock.  The boys and dad cleaned up a lot of it.

Blogger Pics7

Caden my no go of water boy hung out on dry land playing in the floaty and of course the rocks Smile.  Which he was reminded several times not to throw in the water.  You know how hard it is to explain to a 4 year old that the rocks down there were paid for … lol.  Cole got brave and jumped off the dock into the water.

Blogger Pics8

So There you have it fun in the sun and even a car in the ditch … lol.  I’ve worked all Saturdays for about 5 years now so Sunday is my only day off.  So it was nice to have a 2 day weekend again.  So what did you do this holiday weekend?

The Weekend we had nothing Planned! ***GASP***

We had no parties planned for this weekend so what is this crazy mom to do?  Well of course shove it full of other things!

After I worked I made some lunch and got the kids in the car and headed off to the zoo (got to love being a member).

Now our day started out fine, but oh just wait!  I let the kids play and explore a while.

Blogger Pics

Cole played on the water lilly pads, we said hi to the goats (mom forgot the change to buy the food for the goats, sorry dudes) and hit the other side of the playground.

Blogger Pics1

The boys were hungry so we found a spot on the grass and pulled out the sandwiches I made.  If you like these containers (they rock by the way) go to Easy Lunchboxes.com. I did a review/giveaway a while back and I love these containers (yes a quick plug because hello love them).  We then hit the touch and feel part of the zoo and did a little drawing.

Blogger Pics2

The baby leopard cubs were out and visiting so it was a special day at the zoo.  We first made our own tails, did an obstacle course and even dressed up like zoo keepers!

Blogger Pics3

Then to visit the cubs, try out our tails and head over to feed the budgies.

Blogger Pics4

NOW YOU MAY BE WONDERING WHY THE ZOO PICTURES STOP HERE.  We made it next to the Polar Bears .. this is where I became momzilla, the granola MOM’s decided that they were better parents then me and needed to comment.  We went into the polar bear exhibit both kids and shoes … YES I SAID SHOES!!!  This is the when we were walking out to find me turn around and see Cole with (get this) ONE SHOE!!!  At first I calmly ask “What happen to your shoe, go get it”. Thinking it just fell off, after searching and searching AND NO SHOE! Finally I lost my cool and my voice went to the annoying Fran Drescher level and screaming “WHAT HAPPEN TO YOUR SHOE”.  Cole finally said well I kicked and the shoe went into the Polar Bear Exhibit!!  Yes in the exhibit which means I could NOT get the shoe.  This is the point I start dragging both boys behind me (MIND YOU COLE WITH ONE SHOE … Thank GOD he was wearing socks).  Watch out PISSY overweight mom dragging kids may get some nasty looks and comments.  That is when my grumbling went from under my breath to outwards warning people “REALLY … HOW WOULD YOU ACT IN MY SHOES (OR in Cole’s case in his SHOE)”.  Hehe Yes now I can laugh but at that moment no laughing.  And YES I broke down and let him wear his NEW SCHOOL shoe to the zoo.  SO if you head to the Point Defiance Zoo and see the Polar Bears playing with a White DC shoe just smile and think of me!

Because I need more punishment I decided to take the boys and the our neighbor’s son to my parents house to play.  But this time it was good everyone played rather nice and we enjoyed a lovely BBQ time also.

Blogger Pics5

Then Sunday after church they had a baby shower for the youth pastor’s wife.  They had a jungle theme so I ran out and whipped up this Jungle themed diaper cake real quick.  Thankfully it was kid friendly so the kids came along.  They did well that was except when everyone was doing blessings but kids in quiet room for 20 min can be a long time. Smile And no I didn’t make those cupcakes but you bet it I will be making them for Cole’s class this year!

Blogger Pics6

And there you have it a fun some tears (mostly from me) but it was fun and now I can laugh over it Smile.

Another packed weekend, from concerts to playdates & of course the zoo!

Cole had his last day of school on Thursday so they had a concert Thursday night were all the classes sang all the songs they have sung over the year in church.  It was a great performance and thankfully Caden slept threw the whole time!  Also had to show off the coats my MIL crochet for the boys.

Blogger Pics

Friday night we headed up to my parents for dinner.  We walked the boys to the park and played Frisbee and of course the toys!  We had to check out the new additions down at my parents waterfront, new sod went down.  Cole made $5 water it all for my dad Smile.

Blogger Pics6

Saturday I worked (yes that is me in my headset with my curlers … lol.  We head right to the zoo thankfully when it opened because it was are only nice days in weeks and it got packed soon!  The Zoo is doing a thing on Poo yup!  The boys loved it, they had video’s of animals taking a poo, oh yeah it was great … lol.  That is the boys putting their heads in the cut out of a man taking a poo.

Blogger Pics1

We visited all the animals and even feed the budgie's, they are friendly birds and will come right up on your hand to eat the stick you of course have to buy for a $1 each.

Blogger Pics1a

Then we met up with one of my best friends for a picnic with the islanders group her husbands family is part of.  It was great!

Blogger Pics2

Monday was my mom’s birthday so Sunday I took the boys to Lowe’s to pick out flowers for her.  They even potted them for her.

Blogger Pics3

Sunday night we had dinner at our cousin’s night again, it was a lot of fun.  And Rick took the training wheels off Cole’s bike which we should have done last year but hey he’s my first born Smile.

Blogger Pics4

On a side note my debit card # was stolen over the weekend so when I went to the grocery store spent an hour picking out my groceries and then checked out, around $100 my card was declined.  I was mortified I check the account before we left and Rick’s paycheck was in there we were way good.  The # on the back of my card of course was disconnected and I couldn’t reach Rick.  I wanted to cry so I tried to walk fast out of the store but forgot I had some meat in my cart.  So then I had employees screaming at me to stop as I went outside like I was a criminal! UGH so an hour on the phone I found out what happened.  But they NEVER called to tell me what was going on, which really pissed me off.  Bank of America you really let me down, and embarrassed the hell out of me!

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ #1

Ok before I get into my fun new day to give me an excuse to show pictures ... LOL. I have AMAZING NEWS!!!!! To much caps? Rick got a new job!!! Yeah he starts tomorrow, well I'm writing this late Tuesday so when you read this it will be tomorrow ... so he starts today!!! I'm so excited, it even comes with a pay raise! It's in the Grocery store chain for loss prevention, who would have thunk it? Well I guess people steal food too. I want to take a moment to thank you all for all the prayers and warm wishes! I actually got a better love from all of you then my friends and family. Everyone else really didn't see the severe loss this could cause us, but nope everyone is busy with their own lives which I totally get, but for one moment can I get you over here!!!

Ok so check this out:
600 apply for ONE job!
40 get to the first stage!
20 get an interview!
2 are in the running!
Finally they decide they can have 2 people one for each area!

So Rick and another guy got the job out of 600 people isn't that just crazy!

Look at me I'm creating a new day .... come on you know you all want to jump on board with me! Well Monday and Tuesday I do recipes so Wednesday is my wrap of what happened this past weekend. This weekend was a busy and a little frustrating all wrapped into one.

Let me start out for those who are new here (if you've been here a while just skip down, it's not that hard ... jeez ... LOL). We have an exchange student staying with us who has been giving me a run for my money. From day one we had a problem with respect and just appreciation. So for the first 3 months I was easy going and like your from a different country, you're only 10 this has to be a HUGE shock and culture shock to you! Well when the months rolled by and he would only respect and speak to my husband and then when I actually saw that he was hitting, pinching and punch Cole (Cole said this happened but I was thinking he was exaggerating) my patience ran thin. I'm still just the cook, taxi and maid in his eyes but at least I know I gave it my all and some.

So fast forward to this weekend we went to a friends house for a BBQ. Roy (exchange student) found the husband and other friends husband and stuck like glue on them. They are men may I say more! So by the end of the night it was the classic story, you know when you take your kids and leave them with someone else ... they gush at how sweet your child was. Same thing with Roy our host gushed over and over about what a sweet child he was. I very nicely said yes he can be but usually only to men. Oh boy love my friend to death but she gave me the same speech once I gave myself you know the being young, different country ... etc. I only enforce two real rules with him Respect me and be appreciate of all that we do, I don't receive either of these.

I wanted to recap for my friend what she might not have seen:
~ he refused to play with the girls
~ First in line for food as always and of course pushed the others out of the way!!!
~ Did the whole keep away from Cole, poor Cole he was crying for the ball everyone was giving him crap for crying. Hello he's 4 ... Roy's 11 and was keeping the ball from him. So of course I asked him to give him the ball and that didn't work (yup I'm a girl don't listen to me) so I had to raise my voice. They all gave me crap for giving in to Cole! WTF???

Ok some of you are going wow she is petty but after 7 months of not being respected in my own house I've kind of lost it. Not really but just fed up. I did this as an experience for my boys and to help out a child. I will do it again, but just hope that next time we get someone who really wants to be part of the experience. Not just think they are going to come here and have free run and not have to answer to anyone. Hello you're still a child. Ok I'm sorry, but man some days you just want to scream hello! So there it is I'm human, take me or leave me!

Now this was just Saturday! Mind you I also got up that morning and worked @ 5am and then after the BBQ I got home put the kids to bed and started the night shift! UGH. Sunday am got the kids dressed early and out the door to the zoo before everyone got there. We walked for 2 hours! The kids had so much fun, guess what I did when I got home yup worked job #3! Yippee, but I must say this I LOVE this new job data entry bring it on! So that was the weekend oh yeah, Friday is movie night here.
