A little Mission Help

I'm still feeling a bit under the weather so I quick post.  The boys attended a GREAT VBS last week at a local Baptist church were the them was "Amazing Wonders Aviation".  So of the boys where thrilled they love all things about planes.  It was a GREAT 4 hours instead of the normal 3 hours and they just loved it.  One of the things the VBS was doing was collecting  school smilepacks as their mission project.  They asked that people bring one item but I wanted the boys to be able to pick out the whole kit with the money they have been earning to help out someone else.  They were very excited to be able to build the kits and take them to the class.  I'm sure the party they got if they got 20 had nothing to do with it, I'll just go with the helping others.

VBS to the Resue ... No "Calgon take away" but this sure will!!

As most of you know I work from home so the summers get a little hairy, or should I say eye rolling and pulling of hair (and Heck that is just me, we don't want to even go into what the boys are doing).  I wait every summer for VBS season to come around.  I can't believe I missed the last one of June, I really almost cried we missed a week.  I LOVE the boys get to have a fun adventure and that I get to have peace and quiet to make calls.

1st week of July with the 4th meant no VBS sch, so we had to wait for last week for our first week!  It was fab it was really close to the house and the boys loved the VBS being about Aviation this year (each year there is a new theme and most Church's go with it).  This week is a Lutheran church down the road it's a little further but a few of the kids from Cole's school was there since his school is a Lutheran school.  We have 3 more weeks of VBS.  This mom is doing some cartwheels ... ok if I could get my butt up over my head I would!  Thank you to all the wonderful churches that put on these VBS's and I plan to bring in canned goods or donations whatever it is!  Whoo HOO!

Oh and in two weeks Cole will be going to a WHOLE week stay over night with our church.  I'm so freaking excited for him, and maybe a little jealous of not going when I was young.  He is going to have such a blast!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, I hope to finally clean my house since we have no parties this weekend.  Lord be with me this place is looking scary.  Cinderella has returned to take care of the duties ... lol.

It was a whirl wind weekend (Ups and a Big Down)

Most of you know by now how our weekend ended up but before then we did have some fun times!

We had fun w/Caden’s Birthday Playdough set. The colors will never be just one color but hey they last one time .. lol

VBS we visited last week had a family night and the kids had a fun time singing and dancing.

Saturday I took the boys to a friends house for a bon fire and fun times!

Sunday we went to our Tuesday Dinner friends house for some fun times!  Yes that is Caden putting on a Concert he had a great song to go along with guitar playing … hehe

Update on Swim class, the teachers we usually have left for the summer to work a pool that is outdoors (can’t blame them).  So the teachers we have now are nice but new to this and let’s just say I’ve had to speak up a few times.  Sadly now I have to STAND next to the pool by Cole’s class which seems to make his teacher actually pay attention to him and give him things to do! UGH, I think we’ll take next month off and wait until the other teachers return.

So for the Bon Fire I made Bon Fire themed jello shots.  SADLY I tried to make them the day of and it turned to mush almost soup.  And as many of you know I hate to loose … lol.  So I made a second batch and that batched turned out perfect! This recipe was from Super Bowl Jello Shots that I changed the colors around in. Make sure you check out that website it really is the coolest site!

So this week has been on a roller coaster I want to jump off of .  Rick is doing better he was in ICU on the ventilator for the one night and is now moved to a normal wing.  We’re hoping he can come home today but I bet they will say the next day.  Thank you again for all your kind words and prayers you all mean the world to me.  And have helped me from spinning out of control.

It’s a VBS Thing! (Go your kids and your hair pulling will thank you!)

As most of you know I work from home so keeping the kids out of my hair during the day is like mission impossible.  I must say I have been blessed with a WONDERFUL neighbor that let’s the boys hang with her boys during the day.  So thankfully I just have to worry about breakfast and lunch during the day.  And of course a few little things during the day but thankfully I’ve been pretty blessed this summer and the kids leave me alone.

I have found some great local churches around our house that have VBS (Vacation Bible Study) and I’ve just found FIVE yes I said 5 around the house that are perfectly spaced out each week!  It’s perfect the kids get to go for like 3 hours have craft, snacks and bible study and I get complete silence at the house!

We have even found a new church that I will switch us too, has more younger couples and kids for the boys to hang with during Sunday school. 

I can’t say enough a thank you for all the churches around that do this for the kids!  It is truly a blessing that I cherish and grateful that they allow anyone to attend and for free!  Remember to take cans of food, churches always love that !

It looks like the evening ones are a little hard so I’m not sure if we’ll do those especially since swim classes.  (That by the way is another store, I will tell you next week … I have become the parent the teacher look at each other and nod about).

 

WWW ~ VBS & Beach Time w/ Bapa

What a crazy week here, Cole was able to attend a VBS down the street. It was at a local church that was like 5x the size of ours. Our church had the VBS connected with the daycare and wanted $500 so out of my budget, so plan B (it's church people not that type of plan) for him.

Friday they had the wrap up with a BBQ and Blow up toys! This was so GREAT!!

Saturday my dad did a surprise stop by to take the boys to my grandfathers estate (P.S. NO it didn't sale :( so he had to go check on it). Dad showed up about a 1/2 hour before I was to finish up with work, so he offered to wait to take me!!! I so miss my daddy time and was excited to go. My dad means the world to me and I love to be able to just hang out with him and talk!

Sunday was church and then we had a meeting to go over the carnival I'm in charge of. Guess what instead of after church it was at 6pm yes 6 hours after church .... REALLY I have to come back! So thankfully Rick got off at 6p he swung by for the boys and we started the meeting. Of course it went everywhere except the carnival. Finally got people to focus and again kept stopping my me by this time my voice was starting to go. Thankfully my friend said she has all that already worked out if you would listen. TWO hours later the meeting is done, really 8pm on a Sunday!!! UGH then I wake up with no voice, talk about a knock in the pants!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!! Things are going good here we do have a person that being a mild pest that if they do not go away I will have to find other actions. They have already caused my family enough pain but they can't seem to let go and are still trying to cause problems. People really do they not have enough to do in their own life???
