Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Fun Things I've learned

It was a easier weekend here, just busy at home with the kids. You know I think I rather have the weekends when I'm running from party to party. That way the kids have fun, yup that is the only thing I'm thinking about ... LOL It has nothing to do with a little mom adult time and a place that my kids aren't screaming at home :).
So of course this weekend Caden has this on his kneck and of course I'm grabbing my car keys think I must run to the nearest doctors office he has to have some rare disease! Then I happen to walk by his room to find what the red is from!
Insert head slap mom red juice!

Plus I made a really cool cookie recipe that I posted Sunday and wanted to make sure you got it in case you missed it this weekend.

Thank you Lisette Fancy Frugalista! for this amazing recipe and don't forget to pick up some Tippy Earl Grey tea so you can make these amazing cookies and of course pour a cup of tea to go with it!

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons loose Tippy Earl Grey tea
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, room temperature

DIRECTIONS

In a food processor, pulse together the flour, tea, and salt, until the tea is just spotted throughout the flour. Add the confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and butter. Pulse together just until a dough is formed. Place dough on a sheet of plastic wrap, and roll into a log, about 2 1/2-inches in diameter. Tightly twist each end of wrap, and chill in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Slice the log into 1/3-inch thick disks. Place on parchment or silpat lined baking sheets, 2 inches apart (2 probably needed depending on size of sheets). Bake until the edges are just brown, about 12 minutes. Let cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to wire racks and cool to room temperature.

Pour yourself a cup of Tippy Earl Grey tea and eat a cookie!

I'm not sure about those cookies. I like tea, but not earl grey.

  12. Lately I'd like a weekend where I didn't have to go anywhere, but I understand being stuck inside with the husband and kids-have that ALL week, so it's nice to do something different on the weekends! The best would to have a nice mixture of both. :-)

I think I would have flipped about Caden too-that's so funny it was just juice-LOL!

How exciting to have a new laptop to use! Can I work for those people too?! ;-)
