Random Act's of Kindness

Last years birthday just came and went just kind of sucked friends and family forgot. This year I felt so loved and just overjoyed! It's been a rough few months and I can't tell you enough how much you all made my day. Thank you for the wishes here and facebook.

My day started with a horrible headache and I just thought oh boy not another bad year. But then during the day I got so many calls, I had to keep logging off to just thank everyone. I even got a call from one of my BFF Bloggy friends. Amy at Keeping up with the Schultz Family not only called to wish me happy birthday but posted a happy birthday to me. I asked if she wanted me to bawl all day long ... lol :). Love ya poser girl!

Then knock on the door and New Glasses arrived from GlassesUSA! Talk about a special treat!

Then Rick took the boys shopping and came back with a gift for me! My dad owed him money for working and Target had a deal on guess what??

Yes that is how it was wrapped lol. Yes it my EA for the Wii!!!
Then I get an email from KettleWorx for a review! I know isn't that awesome!

Random act's of kindness and then the other shoe falls!

In times of darkness I need to think of the good things that come my way so I don't go totally crazy. I had this light and fluffy post ready to go up about these amazing friends and people in my life and how these random acts of kindness of made me smile and thank God I have them!

So I start with the special and the amazing stuff before I start with the other shoe that dropped and rocked my world today!

Last week I received two amazing thought gifts! First was when I posted the giveaway for the $25 GC and the box tops I was saving for Cole's school. My post automatically post to my facebook account where a dear friend from High School who I have not seen in 8 years!!! You contact me and guess what, she had 150 box tops to give to me!!! I know isn't that so cool! She even lives very close and said she'd drop them off. Isn't that the best, and on her way here she stopped by a friends and picked out even more!!!

Then the next day I open up my mail to find a special envelope from my poser friend Amy sent me the best coupons and get this 2 recipes!!! She is not a pork eater (I know she's silly) and as you know pork I cook a lot here!
Thank you Ladies I love you!!

A while back my boss asked me if I needed any days off this summer, currently working 6 days a week and she was so kind to think about needing a Saturday off. The only dates I could think of where the boys birthday party days! I told her the dates and that I was planning on having Cole's Party at the Children's Museum again. Today she asked me about it to make sure she had the date right, I let her know that I believe so I was just waiting on scheduling Cole's because you have to pay it in advance. So guess what this sweet woman did! Yes you guessed it she gave me the gift of taking care of the party. I can't tell you enough what an angel my bosses are. They are the most amazing people I have ever met and I am truly blessed to be able to work with them! She just knows how to make me cry, the other day she had me in tears again about how she would trust me with her kids. She's so like me and we don't trust many with our kids, and I can't tell you enough how much that meant to me! I'm a gushing mess today, this was just the most amazing gift I could receive and just that kind words that are always said to me.
Then when I think I'm just over joyed with not having to worry about paying for Cole's party the shoe drops on my world. Sometimes I think God gives you a bright light before the bad comes so you can remember that you are blessed and take each step one moment at a time. It just wouldn't be my life if everything went smooth. I've always had the worst timing if one part of my life is going well something has to happen, the dryer dies, then the washer, the roof will leak, Cole will get in trouble at school etc ... always the way it goes. The saying take the good with the bad is truth in my world. So after this amazing news from my boss, Rick get's a text from his boss? Which is really weird asking him to come in 1 1/2 hours early. He had a bad feeling, we're wracking our brains, he's had the top #'s since he's started. But in the grand skeem of things his job let him go :(. It was a complete sock it came for the higher ups and his boss was in tears telling him the news. So here we are barely making with our two salaries and now we're down to mine! My amazing boss swooped in again and offered me more hours, which is great but that now puts me at 7 days a week! For a temporary fix it will work out perfect just not long term, I told Rick this and he's like why would it be bad? UGH dude I'm already working 6 days a week, taking care of kids, bills, the house and everything else!!! Some days I think I may loose my mind!

Please say a prayer for Rick and finding a new job quickly! Thankfully his 2nd job is giving him hours but of course it's half the pay but it's money coming in! I had him get right on the internet looking for jobs. He's just so frustrating, I love him but he always seems that something happens and it's not his fault. This time it may just that but here we go again finding him a new job. I really would love for him to find that place that he stays at until he's done. Me I'm a stick to a place until I die or you kick me out :).

I know God will bring something better for us and it will all work out. I have faith I'm just a nervous Nelly about how long it may take until he gets a job. Lord give me strength I need it now!

Random Acts of Kindness

Random acts of kindness, so few of us experience these and I wish I could give more then I do. When I was younger and had extra money I would love taking friends out for dinner or help out with a single mom friend with a night off. The older I got the less I’ve been able to do, but still try to do what I can. If it’s just a call, a hug, a simple post. I’ve always been very lucky to be on the other end, it seems just when you need that helping hand it comes along. Be a person giving you the needed hug, a little extra food or clothes anything that just helps out! I feel truly blessed to be the giver and the receiver. Lately we see less and less of these random acts and when I had two happen to me I just had to share. One happened a while back that I shared before but thought it was perfect to bring up again since I have seen people doing this more and more.

A while back while grocery shopping, kids being crazy, I ran into a person shopping (cross between a male & female). I have no qualms so I said hello how is your day etc. We ran into each other a few more times while in the store. That month money was tight so I was only picking up the necessities about $10 of stuff. This person happened to come up behind me in the line. While wrestling with the boys I looked up to pay and found that they had told the checker they would cover it. I was so touched that my kindness to say hello could bring them to help me out. Hopefully I touched their life that day also.

This weekend I decided that I would clean out some closets; usually I sell the clothes at the consignment shop but wanted to give back. So I bagged them up and took them to Value Village. Now this may not seem like the biggest random act, but when you think of the economy more and more are shopping at thrift stores. Just think what you don’t use may help someone else. Heck most of these places even give you a 20% coupon to use if you donate, bonus you get a tax right off also! So you help people afford clothes/items plus if you buy you can also get affordable items with an extra discount. Yes I went inside after donating and picked up quite a few shorts for Caden, heck if you look real hard you’ll find some amazing name brand items that have been barely warn. Look I got all this for $36 (that includes 2 pants for me, 2 toys, 1 book and several boys clothes). The most I spent was $6.99 each for my pants that were name brand and new!

The last one I leave you with is one that happened yesterday that was such a small thing but got me on this whole thought process. After picking up the boys I was driving home, it was super HOT so I had the windows down (yes I’m cheap and don’t use AC). Caden fell asleep in his seat. When we pulled up to a stop light, a car came up with their music bumping very loud. He stopped next to me; I smiled like I always do. He smiled back and looked in the back and saw Caden asleep. He immediately turned his radio off, and smiled at me and said don’t want to wake the little one. I was truly touched but this simple thing that meant so much to me! When the light turned he waited until he could get in front of me to turn his radio back on! I was blown away that this gentleman would do that. That is what I call the best Random Act of Kindness!

I hope you all experience these amazing acts either as the person giving or receiving. We all need a little pick me up and it’s amazing what a small thing can do for another person. Enjoy and remember a smile can always cheer up someone’s day.
