Themed Gift Idea ... Welcome Home Basket (Dinner and A Movie Night)

Next on our themed gift basket idea is a Dinner and a Movie Night.  My amazing Bloggy friend Stacy from Stacy Uncorked moved back to town.  I wanted to make her and her family a Welcome Home Gift. I've made a version of this as a wedding gift before and it was such a hit that I thought I'd do a smaller version.

What you Need:
Bowl or Colander
Spaghetti Noodles
Spaghetti Sauce
Popcorn
Candy
Movie
Tissue paper as s filler

I put tissue paper at the bottom to help put all the items in the bowl.  I was going to add a thing of french bread but I wasn't sure when they would eat and didn't want to buy something that goes bad.  I also was going to put in a bottle of Wine but she makes the best wine and thought it would be a little silly giving her wine.

Thanks for Stopping by!

First Comes the Wedding ... Family Movie Night Basket

Rick's boss got married a few weeks back and we had the chance to get dressed up and go out.  My dad picked the boys up from the boys and girls club, while we hit the town.  Well a wedding in a very cool barn!  As most of you know me by now I hate to show up with just a normal store bought gift.  I love to come with something special that shows a personal touch.

So often to my Pinterest Board Personal Touch Gift, I had this Movie Lover's Gift Set from Everyday Mom Ideas.  I thought this would be perfect to do a Family Movie Night Basket for the Bride and Groom.  They had both been married before with kids and just knew this would be a great gift for the whole family!  The link above only had a picture for the idea so I took that and ran with it!

What you Need:
Large Popcorn Bin (Dollar Tree $1)
Tissue Paper (Dollar Tree $1)
Special Flavored Popcorn (Ross $2.99 Each)
Candy (Dollar Tree $1 Each)
Spaghetti Sauce (Target Sale $1)
Spaghetti Noodle's (Target Sale $1)
Movie (Target Sale $9 - Walmart has a GREAT $5 Bin too)

Gift Basket done under $25, with a GREAT personal touch!

Arrange all the items in the large popcorn basket.  I put a little tissue paper in the bottom to make things sit nicely in there.  Once I had it an order I liked I put it in a large clear gift basket bag.  I added a ribbon and it was done!  I loved how it came out and it fit so great with their down home country feel of a wedding.

I sure hope they have a great family night with this, I so would love one (hint hint) for any upcoming holiday ... lol

37th Year Celebrated in Style

I had such a great birthday this year.  I really did have the best time and was so grateful to celebrate with some great friends and family.

Friday the boys and I picked up Oz the Great and Powerful.  Now you all know my feeling about movie remakes this is kind of like what Star War's did and did a prequel the moments that lead up to the movie you love.  I must say it was ok in the beginning towards the end it did pick up and we enjoyed it.  The boys enjoyed pizza and popcorn, while I ate my hamburger patties.  I was being good and stuck to the diet that night.

Movie Night

Saturday we had a busy day, I worked got a quick weight lifting work out and even tried out my new running shoes for 3 miles.  The boys and I ran up to see my mom and dad to pick up my gift.  It was so excited to see a gift card for Cheesecake Factory since Rick and I were heading up there on Sunday.  We then ran to my friends house for a candle party and let the kids go swimming for a bit.  My friend was so sweet she even had balloons and a very sweet bakers basket for me!! We then made a mad dash to take the kids to the YMCA Kids night out!  I then ran home and put on a new pair of blue skinny pants and I hit the town.  I meet up with my woman's group for dinner, I really thought it would be an early night but we had so much fun watching the line dancing that started at 9pm after the restaurant turned to a country bar.  Which mind you NONE of us are country fans so it was a new experience for us.  We ended up staying until after 10pm!  I'm so bummed that I didn't get a picture of all of us.

New shoes and pants for my 3 mile walk.

My amazing bakers gift basket!

Dinner Night with my Women's Night

Sunday Rick's schedule changed from day to afternoon.   So we had to do breakfast at the Cheesecake Factory.  I ate a meal that followed my diet plan but I did splurge and went with the full on cheesecake not the low carb version I was going to go with.  I thought I deserved a little something special!  We got home Rick ran to work and the boys and I headed up to the lake to hang with my childhood friend at her dock (2 down from my parents).

Rick got his Avacado Eggrolls, Coke and a Salad (and my toast)
I had a omelet with meat and cheese and a Kahlua Cheesecake

It was the best weekend I could have ever asked for!
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes!
