No Resolutions ... Obstacles I will overcome!

This last weekend at church we had former NFL Star pastor Eric Boles speak at our church, he speaks a few times a year at our church and he is a great motivational speaker.  I loved this weekend talk he did about not making resolutions but writing down obstacles that we see as we enter the new year.  As a Jesus person I believe that God has a plan and these obstacles he already has a plan of what path will be taken and how I will over come these obstacles.

He suggested writing them down in a place we can see them, what better place then on my blog so I can hold myself accountable.

Step 1: What I want? Real Desire (detail it) example: marriage, health, finances

Remember you DON'T need permission from your past for your future!

Step 2: Why do I want it? Reasons

Step 3: Then How? - This as a Jesus person I know God shows up, but as I have said many times I believe everyone has their own path and beliefs and here is no judgement so you decide.

My Obstacles:

Marriage - I want to be a better wife, more loving knowing that even though I'm tired that I have a husband that needs my time also.  I want to forgive, I will not forget but carrying around the past not only leads me to frustration but who needs to carry hate.   I will be a better listener, I will better wife and see my surroundings and remembering that I need to make the effort.

Mother - I want to be a better mother, more patience's.  This is something I need to work on and make a better effort and listening and remembering they also need the extra time and not to be always so rushed.

Health - I want to continue on this path on loosing weight.  I want to loose the last 34lbs to be at my goal weight and THEN maintain this goal weight.  I want to be healthy and decrease my risk of diabetes that run in my family.  I want to be able to run after my kids and not be the mom who sits on the side do to being too heavy to play or want to be in a bathing suit.

Finances - I want to continue to bring our credit score up.  Pay off this dreaded car payment for this car with a dead engine and get rid of this weight around my neck.  With two full time jobs now we will have the money to pay the bills and on time.  NO more robbing Peter to play Paul.

This is my VISION of what I WILL accomplish!

I thought this would be a great for anyone to do.  What would be on your list?

Ode To My Boys!

I'm doing it again I'm interrupting my usual Wednesday post about our weekends to do a special post. We're getting close to Thanksgiving and it makes me reflect and think of what I'm thankful for. I know most of us what to be a better version of our parents we saw things they did and want to either do the same or tweek a little.

When my dad remarried to the person I know as my mom we went from lot's of camping and outings to a new world. It was a great world they did a lot of their things and I became very independent & one that is happy by myself just reading a book. Would explain why I wasn't into sports and did not do very well when I tried them. I love my parents and how they raised me has made me the person I am today. Today I want to just think of the future and what I want to put forward and a promise to my kids. I find if I put it out there then I have the personality that makes me want to strive for it :).

To my boys as you grow up I want to make some things I will strive for :)

I hope to always be there with no judgement and love you no matter what thick or thin. You may have another cookie I promise not to comment. We'll just go run around more ;).

I strive to have that fun house that your friends will always be welcome at and hope to find our house at the house they all want to hang out at. There will always be plenty of food and treats, lot's of laughs and of course many hugs to go around.

You are always welcome home when you move out. Stop by anytime you, your friends are always welcome. No calls needed just come on by, sit down and hang out!

Sports we must at least try these I think sports help with playing with others along with just being well adjusted.

Family dinners I want to make sure to keep this a tradition. Good food and lot's of laughs and questions. I hope that we will continue these for years and years.

Family night this is something I'm going to keep pressing on, keeps us close and we have open communication.

Grandkids .... WAY down the road I mean 20 years please .... are welcome to come play and hang out I will love to let them come hang out and parents you go have some of your time!

I can't promise the house will always be spotless, and dusted but it's full of love and some day I promise to get my house tip top shape. Maybe when I'm retired ... hehe

I love you guys and can't wait to watch you grow and learn and can't wait for us to have many laughs with I'm sure many tears (on mom's side)

Always looking for ways to improve and look at where I am at. I say take what you have learned and always improve.

Ok New Me ~ Here I come ... Third Time a Charm??

Sorry everyone but I figure the only way to get my rear in gear is to put this out there in a VERY public way. LOL then I know you'll all see this and ask me every once in a while and I'll have to own up to it! So here's the quick story, sorry work is busy this week so I haven't been around much. And winners don't worry your email is coming I'm just so behind with time here to do it all!
My life in the world of Weigh Loss, Gain Tears and my current state that no longer can be considered a cute "fluffy" state!
Here I am on my wedding day almost 7 years ago. For you that don't know this is after working out 7 days a week for 9 months (if you've heard this before it's ok you can fast forward). This is my first big weight loss in my life. I lost 80 lbs for the wedding, it was a lot of hard work but come on we were single no kids it was easy to go to the gym every day (yes every day)! I was able to get to the smallest I've ever been, well maybe in 6th grade I was that weight but I wouldn't call it small! It was a marvelous day and so was the honeymoon where Cole was my souvenir I brought home from Miami. Well there goes that weight loss!
So ok one kid I still can go to the gym at 5am and then after work. Great plan but that means you don't have a lot of time for husband. Let's just say new baby, no sleep, and me getting up in early to work out doesn't mean for a good communication between the two. Yeah I lost almost all the weight but marriage hit a rough spot. Insert less gym and more talking!

Here I am very close to wedding day weight
My 30th Birthday Party
And guess what happened baby #2, oh crap the weight again. Really did my butt need to grow just as fast as my tummy! I'm not carrying a baby there also!
2 Weeks before Caden, yup I was huge I know it!
So here I am baby #2 is 2 years old and I haven't lost the weight just of yet! I'm in need of a kick in the pants. So it happened this week I decided it was time I was joining a gym again! That's it I can do, I may not be wedding day skinny again but heck I can get close! I promise to go to the gym 4 days a week and not to get so wrapped up in that I let the communication go in my marriage again! I so need to find the perfect balance! Here is to a new me and a goal! I don't do resolutions so goals is what I go with. Cole's birthday is the end of April and my goal is to loose 20 lbs by then! 3 months almost I can do it! And then Caden's birthday is in July and I hope to be down 40 lbs by then. 6 months 40 lbs not close to where I need to be but it's a start!
Not my finest angle but it's the worst picture I could find so it's the winner
