Pulled in Every Direction ...

I found some great cartoons of how I felt today! Thankfully I still have a job and I think we got most of the proposal done. Between running around meeting in between meetings to finish this project up and answer the phones (which kept ring and getting me off track). No wonder I haven't finished my own work I've been catching the phones for the last few weeks. I'm so bad it takes me forever to get my mind back into what I was doing. As soon as I'm back into it the darn thing rings again ... UGH. I so DON'T miss being a receptionist, well I guess if that was my only job then it would be too bad but trying to do my job and that job is a little frustrating. Especially when I get my butt in a sling for not completing my job. Oh boy ok I have my mind now back on track, well as much as a mom of 2 +1 can be. You know between working full time, plus part time, cooking, cleaning, shopping and oh yeah school functions. Speaking of wish I need to iron Cole's Clothes for his concert tomorrow night. Yup it's GREAT being a mom, the lowest paid job except you do get paid with hugs and the occasional kiss. Oh the great comment "Mom you butt is HUGE, mine is small" oh yeah thanks Cole. I guess I really need to go on a diet, geez!

So do you think running around like your head's cut off can burn enough calories in a few pieces of chocolate? Ok it might have been a little more then that, but hey I missed breakfast and I eat when I'm stressed. Is it ok to be jealous of your best friend who is going to be working out 4 times a week like you use to, but now have no time between picking up and dropping off 3 kids each day? LOL oh the joys of being a busy mom, I can't wait for nice weather again we'll be walking each day at a park. And if I hear I'm bored someone will be sitting in the car! Ok enough rant I think I maybe be going over the deep in or at least putting my head in the freezer looking for that tub of ice cream I know I hid in there ha-ha!

Ok I'm not really political, but this is the only cartoon pic I could find of being pulled into every direction. Yup this is how I felt today!

This is me almost everyday!
What will be the way the sign swings today?
Oh yeah that is so me, red bow and all ... ha-ha

I Love Love my PreLit Christmas Tree

So last year I FINALLY talked Rick into getting me the prelit tree. Of course we had to wait until after Christmas so the tree would be 50% but still I would have it for this year! It was super GREAT coming home and it took Rick less then 10 minutes to put the tree up, now decorated took a little longer but still no stringing lights. I was so excited think ok no more lights to string on trees. Except I forgot the most important thing, I gave me old tree to work. Yup you guessed right this morning I spent hanging lights. I know Jana is giggling right now because no matter what a pain hanging the lights is I still love putting up the tree. Sorry I forgot to take a picture, just imagine my tree except with white and gold color scheme. It took forever to string those lights, I really miss having a hand on the other side to hand the string to. Instead I had to hop over the plug in, and I only tripped 2 ok maybe 5 times. I'm blaming it on my new pants that are a little long with out my shoes on, hey who decorates a tree where heels ... not this girl!

I was thinking that this has to be the worst part of my day, just an ache in my back. Turns out I was going to get a ache in my rear side also. When doing a project make sure to read the whole thing, do not do like I do skim to the part with what criteria you need. I was putting a proposal together and just followed this, I saw the part that said descriptions but who need descriptions of simple questions like this. Well come to find out I need those descriptions since it tells you in detail what they want. Ugh ... I guess bright side is the proposal not due until Friday, but still it doesn't look good for my work I've done so far! Oh geez time to slow down and make sure I'm doing it all right.

Hopefully what I've done to help fix the problem will be enough to get me out of the dog house, but for some reason I think I'll be there for some time. Geez talk about to much going on lately, first we had the move plus the proposal I had to put together in the middle of that. Moving stuff in and trying to just get to feel like everything is back to where it is suppose to be. Not to mention covering the phones during times that our receptionist had to take off and during her unpacking faze also. And last but not least the kids and me being sick, oh yeah it's been a fun few weeks and it's totally my fault that I didn't read the thing all the way. Fingers crossed it's just a lesson learned (that I will NEVER forget) and not the lead to something bad. Just what I need in this bad economy. All can do is give my best and hope that is enough.

Enough sad things, we're watching Horton Hears a Who, how can I be sad watching that? Plus it has to be a good day, I won a pair KEEN shoes on Scribbit Blog. I love her blog, plus she has amazing giveaways. I so would love to do that, if anyone knows how to get started doing that let me know ;). Pictures of my new shoes when they arrive.

The words you never thought would come out of my mouth!

I can't eat another piece of birthday cake, yup the day has come I am officially overdosed with sugar! I never thought this day would come I LOVE birthday cake and get all giddy when it’s time to go to a party. Three days in a row of cake and think I need a break to let my fillings stop zinging. But darn it was yummy!

What a fun packed weekend! I must say even though I love just relaxing on the weekends it’s GREAT to be out of the house. I didn’t once hear “I’m Bored”, finally found something to make him happy.

Saturday after working my shift I got everyone ready and we headed out to the birthday party at the Jumpin Jack and Jill. Ok I’ve lived in the Sumner Area almost my whole life. I looked up the address before we left and I was so excited we were going to be early! I went to the cross street on the map and drove around the now boarded up grocery store. Where the heck is this place, after driving around and getting very pissy I call. Find out they are behind a restaurant. You’re where? That is just an alley. You got to be kidding me there is a place there? Ok, so we pull up and see a piece of paper on the door. If I hadn’t seen my cousin come out the door I may have locked the doors and gone home. It looked like an abandoned warehouse, but you step in and find a bunch of jumping houses! Hmm they have play nights for $6, might be something to check out. The boys had fun jumping and sliding, I even took Caden down one. Yup no pictures thank the lord, Caden would be crying and my shirt would have been up around my neck. Joy to the world I had the camera hidden.

You would think by the time we got home everyone would be warn out, but no they still were running. Thought I could get a little peace before we had to leave again, no such luck! We got back in the car and meet up with a lady from craigslist for the DS games, amazing deal! Cole’s stocking is now complete! I even picked up Roy’s’ stocking and the iron on for the front of it (what a pitiful selection they had this year).

My 2nd job is cutting back on hours since a low call volume so I start at midnight and go to 1:30am. Thankfully not too many cranks callers and a good amount of orders, better then the morning that I didn’t even schedule 1 appointment.

Sunday was another party day plus Santa. How come every Sunday I can sleep in but I don’t? I get to bed a little after 1:30am, the alarm went off at 6:30am for Rick to work the Seahawks game and I could go back to sleep but nope I was up. Then of course my two woke up and had to join me in my bed, after ½ hour of that I got up and started to clean and do things around the house. Then I thought I better check what time Santa is at the mall. Yikes in a 1 ½ hours, I better get us ready plus let Amy know. I am very excited to say we were only about 15 minutes after Santa arrived, not bad! I was talking Santa up hoping Caden won’t have a break down. Put him on his lap and ran away, first picture good, then we figured out where we were and a complete melt down. I picked him up and stood behind Santa. Not bad $38 later for a CD and we were set, yikes now I have to download to Costco to order Christmas cards only another $20. Talk about an expensive Christmas card experience, not to mention the stamps. I must stop before I hyperventilate again.

We ended our Sunday with Elijah’s party, the boys had a bunch of fun and more yummies to eat! Thank you Lauren for not putting Chocolate in the Pinata, since I took the candy and put on the top of the fridge for the boys to have a piece a day. If it was chocolate I’m not sure it would have still been there this morning, since you know it calls my name! I did remember why Now and Laters were not my favorite they stick to your teeth.

Just a few pictures to share:

This is the drop on lap and run move:
Full Blown Freak OUT!
I promise Santa I didn't pinch him!
(Well this time at least)

Ok I'm happy with mom here!

The start to the morning ...

You know it's going to be a good day when you need a spoon to stir your coffee and the only one you can find that is "clean" is the your toddlers Spiderman spoon! Oh yeah it's going to be one of those days isn't it. Then you log on to do your second job and they inform you it's a little slow this morning, not because of calls no because their system is updating and it's taking a while to get calls. At first your inner child is screaming and doing cartwheels (well the best as can be expected at 5AM!) yeah I'm getting paid to sit here and then your inner adult groans. You know why? Because that just means it's going to take longer to get the calls to you, which means you'll be doing calls later today. Which means the kids will be up and you'll be multi functioning making breakfast, giving dirty looks to keep quiet and just trying to sound pleasant on the phone while in your head thinking really is duct tape a bad thing to use on kids? LOL ... just playing, well the thought isn't bad it's the action right? Oh joy the day is looking so bright!

More to come later ...

Just a little rant

It's funny how some that have made a big stink about the dress code are the hardest to fit it and try little things here and there to test the waters. With my luck (if you would call it that) would get me sent home right away. Oh well I'm actually liking my new clothes and even the new wedges I bought. Now walking on them is a whole different issue, by the time I got home yesterday all I wanted to do was kick my shoes off and sit on the couch.

Answer me this as moms we never sit we get home make dinner, feed everyone, do the dishes, get maybe half a meal in before it's bath time, laundry and get ready for bed time. Now I'm beat by the time I get to bed, I barely eat and I feel like I ran a marathon but do you think I'm rail thin? Not even close, hmmm ... maybe those pieces of chocolate at work isn't the best but still ... ugh!

One more topic I must just get out there, I'm a freak about personal space. As most people know I love my bubble! I had to run to Costco today to pick up a cake. While in the check out line an older gentleman decided that I smelled good and had to stand right next to me. I was filling out the check and felt something on my arm, I look over to be face to face with the gentleman. I said excuse me and he just smiled, oh great. I scoot over to finish and get out of there he takes this as a sign to step closer again! We are know shoulder to shoulder and the overwhelming smell of old spice is about to gag me. Before I can throw up I grab the receipt and hustle to the exit. Of course a line, guess who comes up right behind me .... ahhh I swear I have mace ok maybe just a bottle of perfume but it will sting and I may be able to run or walk very fast with this chocolate cake and wrapping paper. I'm warning you back off! Yup in my panic I almost drop the cake, hey a little frosting on the side of the box is just extra to eat right? Run to the car and my sidekick hobbles to a different spot. Phew that was a close one I could have had my own life size troll for my passenger seat. Hey it could help with carpool lanes!

Back to the grindstone I go ... Hi Ho Hi Ho! Last day of the week, well not really the work week since I work Saturday AM and PM but still it's a good day. More later ....

Life back to normal

Sick kids, 4 kids to pick up, cleaning lady is back and doors being shut. Hi Ho Hi Ho off to work I go! This week we're back to coughing and peeing the bed. Man I had a full week of good nights, one night at my parents house and we're back to wetting the bed ... Ugh! Positive points that I'm trying to look onto is that Tarra and Khari are back to our nightly routine. Which is PERFECT for me since I get help making dinner, Cole's lunch and don't forget bath time! Oh boy how I've missed help with bath time. Not that Cole really needed much help before, but when Auntie and Khari are part of tub time I get a chance to clean up and make everything ready for the next day! And the best part of today is the cleaning lady came over, yup I'm jumping for joy and I'm super excited to be blogging in a clean house and I didn't have to do it! Worth Every Penny!
Today started with coughing and wet pants, which lead to going to pick Cole up who then took a nap at school and I helped out wrapping presents for the Santa's Shop. Now you all know the mom that is involved in EVER thing in school, she usually is the one that takes over and at times can be a LITTLE bossy. Yup I got the chance to hang with her today, but after a quick snap of me and letting her know too many hands is not helping me wrap we headed in the right directions. I have learned that sometimes it takes a bark to make the alpha step away, and you got the right girl for that. Now when it come to wrapping presents I'm a little nuts (Jana is laughing at this right now, she works with me and knows). I don't know what happens to me but you put a present in front of me and I have to wrap it nice. Like every year I wrap the gifts for our Christmas party, it's my favorite thing to do if you really want to know. And I LOVE double stick tape I use it so you don't see tape lines (see I told you I'm nuts). So when they put me at a table with wrapping duties and pass me paper bags, a stapler (yes a stapler) and tape guess what I did? You got it I opened up the bags down the seams and wrapped them like real presents. Hey nothing says you have to have crappy looking presents, yes most of the things the kids are buying look like something from the dollar store, and you know how I feel about useless crap sorry I know that sounds bad but I really not a collector of things. I guess growing up with a grandma that collected dolls and then when she passed away trying to sale and most cases give them away really stuck with me. So yes I wrapped the presents which didn't make Alpha too happy but who cares these kids deserve nice looking gifts to put under the tree. I almost wish I could take off the next two days to do that, YES I know I'm nuts!
So I guess I need to get back to the point of my life, yup I know that is what you tune in for. :) Well I guess life is back to normal. I'm ready for Christmas all the presents are wrapped and under the tree, just need stocking stuffers and we're done. Ok I do have a question that has been eating at me for a few weeks. For those of you new to my blog back in September we took in a student from Korea. I thought this would be a great learning experience for the boys, we would have a long friendship the boys can Cherish for a life time along with helping him out we get a little help financially (which is not really anything but every little bit helps). It sounded like a perfect plan to help all involved. As anything new we've had some ups and downs, as you can imagine it's hard for all involved and a drastic change. We're making thru it and just excepting things like me being ignored and treated as a 2nd class citizen. But back on track of what has been eating at me. With Christmas just around the corner I'm torn on what to do. I would love any feedback you may offer me. We don't have a lot but I've saved up to make sure the boys have a nice Christmas with fun stuff under the tree. I didn't want our guest to feel left out so I picked up a few gifts for him and plan on doing a stocking also. What has been getting me is he keeps hinting and asking Rick about where are all his gifts. I sat him down and let him know that have his parents send his gifts here so he can open them up with us and I let him know that I have 3 presents under there for him. My talk didn't seem to even sink in since when I talk to him it's like talking to a teenager who's looking for something else in the room and you're just a bee buzzing around them. I really don't have the money to go buy him lot's of gifts, but I also don't want to sound rude but our responsibility is for housing and food. I've gone over and beyond with all the field trips we take on the weekends and pay for a lot of those things that it says that he's suppose to. Do I just let it go or do I talk to him again? Or am I'm just being out in left field and should try to figure out a way to get more gifts, which I'm not sure were I would get the money for. Ugh ... who knew life could get this complicated?
One more tickler I'll throw out there as you most know I love Cake Wrecks Blog, I was thinking it would be kind of fun to have a blog about Cupcake Cakes the good the bad and the ugly. What do you think?
