Ode To Grandma!

A while back I posted my grandparents house had sold, sadly the deal fell threw and it went back up on the market. I have been told now it has gone all the way threw and it is now no longer part of our family :(. My grandmother passed about 10 years ago, Grandfather was lost with out the love of his life and companionship. My uncle with mental illness lost his battle during this time (I'm glad grandma wasn't around for that). Grandfather ended up remarrying a few years later. 6 months into the marriage grandfather had a brain aneurysm and while driving. Now years later having to deal with crazy people who are money hungry between family, non family and people with kids. It's sad what money or the prospect of money to come can do to people. I have seen a different side to many people and seen if someone is not removed from a will their amount will then go on to others. As I've said from day one I have been blessed my grandparents would even think of the grandchildren. Whatever money I am given was out of love and NOT money I earned or deserve for something I did! I will use it to pay off bills and know my grandparents helped me when I needed the help!

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Labor Day 2010

This was the weekend that started out with so much promise and ended with so many things going wrong ... ugh!

Friday:

Head up to grandfather's Estate:

Caden rode the lawn mower & ran threw woods

Mom & GG posed for a quick pic

Cole even took a turn to drive

Bapa helped the boys pick black berries

And of course bubbles

Saturday:

Cole had a burger date with Monnie

Play Iron Man on the Wii

Pick some blueberries

Enjoy a burger

And crash out grocery shopping :)

Monnie had a shell hunt down at the waterfront

Sunday:

Shoveled some gravel

Opened car door and brother went crashing to grown :(

Flat Tire ... We'll go there on Friday

There is more but I'm pooped, It was one thing after another and I'm still peeved over the other so I need to rest on it ... lol. Don't worry I'll let you know on Friday.

WWW ~ VBS & Beach Time w/ Bapa

What a crazy week here, Cole was able to attend a VBS down the street. It was at a local church that was like 5x the size of ours. Our church had the VBS connected with the daycare and wanted $500 so out of my budget, so plan B (it's church people not that type of plan) for him.

Friday they had the wrap up with a BBQ and Blow up toys! This was so GREAT!!

Saturday my dad did a surprise stop by to take the boys to my grandfathers estate (P.S. NO it didn't sale :( so he had to go check on it). Dad showed up about a 1/2 hour before I was to finish up with work, so he offered to wait to take me!!! I so miss my daddy time and was excited to go. My dad means the world to me and I love to be able to just hang out with him and talk!

First Stop was breakfast.

Which lead to me making Eggs Benedict (click for recipe)!

We played, explored and laughed.

Sunday was church and then we had a meeting to go over the carnival I'm in charge of. Guess what instead of after church it was at 6pm yes 6 hours after church .... REALLY I have to come back! So thankfully Rick got off at 6p he swung by for the boys and we started the meeting. Of course it went everywhere except the carnival. Finally got people to focus and again kept stopping my me by this time my voice was starting to go. Thankfully my friend said she has all that already worked out if you would listen. TWO hours later the meeting is done, really 8pm on a Sunday!!! UGH then I wake up with no voice, talk about a knock in the pants!

Happy Wednesday Everyone!! Things are going good here we do have a person that being a mild pest that if they do not go away I will have to find other actions. They have already caused my family enough pain but they can't seem to let go and are still trying to cause problems. People really do they not have enough to do in their own life???

The End of Chapter in our Life?

As most of you may know my grandfather passed away about 4 years ago. My father is the executor of the will and being the only child in the state meant he also got the clean up duty. Which also meant me, Rick, mom and my friends were asked to come help clean up the place. Let's say the place was so dirty and full of crap from years of hoarding. The first year I even took a WEEK of vacation to work there with my parents. We laid 30 yards of gravel and 30 yards of bark. Oh yes this has been a labor of love. I'm sad that I believe the house may have sold and half the land. It's exciting it may have finally closed this chapter but sad that with the housing market it is having to lower it almost 1/3 of the price of what it should go for.

Bye Grandma & Grandpa you have been missed and your house has been a lovely reminder of your love. Having the house around kept you close and now I have photos to remind me and a tear in my eye that this may be the close of this chapter. The deal is not complete but in my heart I know it's time to close this chapter. I'll see you one day in Heaven, love always!
