Do any of you get the Sick Guilt? I do I hate being Sick, I feel like I’m letting people down. I feel like I’m not pulling my weight and then worse when someone has to step in and pick up your slack. It’s horrible when you feel like you can do what you need and then to have to rely on someone else makes me feel even more guilty. Then the list of things to do piles up!

And the part that upsets me the most is missing work. As many of you know I work 6 days a week and have for about 5 years now. I don’t mind Saturdays are easy it’s just 3 hours and it’s before the kids get up so It’s not big deal. I hate letting people down so I don’t take that day off for much, it takes a lot for me to take a day off. It’s also because I’m a nut and have a fear of someone else doing my job. I use to work for a plastic surgeon who let you all know EVERYONE can be replaced which means not be too safe with your job. NOW I have an amazing set of bosses and know they take amazing care of me but of course the little voice in my head (plus the big one called my husband) say don’t get too comfy you work virtual they don’t see your sick or need time off and you can be replaced.
Fast forward to this week, week 2 of this cold … and NO VOICE! Which can make for some problems when my job is calling people, making 60 to 70 calls a day you kind of need your voice. And we had a huge event this weekend that needed confirmation calls done for. No voice means Alexis is benched from the calls we had to call in the replacement. So I had to take care of myself and rest for a WHOLE DAY.

What happens when you take time off work? I of course get freaked about what if the other person does better then me? What if they like this person better then me and replace me? I know it’s crazy to think like that but something in my brain always does it to me.
Am I the only crazy one? Or do you feel the same way when you call in sick? Do you think of money lost? I’m a contractor so I don’t have sick leave so my mind always goes to that.
Then because it’s my life, when the going gets tough you have to have a few rocks throw at you … insert drum roll please! Some joint & belt goes out on Rick’s car on Monday. Oh yes the quotes are coming in around $650. OH yes when it rains it pours here.
So there you have my week … hehe. So how do you handle being sick?

Last few weeks have been very busy with work we had 2 back to back events and we added on some new publications so my calls went from the normal to about 3x times the normal then my confirmation calls of brunch on top of it. So let’s just say my days were packed and evenings packed with making sure the data was all in the right spots and updated for the next morning. Well I’ve been kind of burning the candle at both ends and it has finally caught up to me. I’m SICK … UGH. Now I usually will work threw loosing my voice which I do at least once a month (doing 65+ calls a day takes a toll on my voice). But when I woke up Wednesday am I took one step out of bed and knew it wasn’t right. I felt light headed and dizzy and then I 
Needless to say I had to call in or my like email in that I needed to take the day off. Well being me I said I would take the morning off, but when I couldn’t make it off the couch (well after I moved Caden and found out he was not the only weight hold me down … AND no I’m not talking about my BMI but that may also have to do with it). I had to email in again I was taking the day off. It’s really hard for me to justify taking time off. When you work from home, can go to work in PJ’s, slipper and not brushing your hair who can complain. So it takes the Mac truck that backed over me 30+ times to keep me down.
So there you have it gooeyness and all, I’m out for the count. I’m dizzy just sitting here typing this. Back to bed I go, hopefully be back soon!

So the laundry has been pilling up (because of course I’m the only one who can wash and put it away). The dog hair is trying to invade every inch of the house (again I’m the only one who can vacuum). My dad walked in yesterday (my parents house is the immaculate “museum” as we call it). I could just see it on his face … lol Thankfully he heard me talk and knew I was sick and not time to mention my cleaning habits 
This has been one heck of a cold that is kicking my butt. Some how I’m the only one that can keep the inside of the house clean and pretty soon your going to find me lying on the floor under a pile of dog car that is starting to resemble a coat and laundry over the top of that. Oh please God let this cold go away. Even though my family thinks they can function with out me we are seeing the proof they can not. And my poor children can not eat what my husband calls dinner any longer. Fast Food may be a meal in his eye but not mine, of course the boys are loving it!
Today I must take a shower and go grocery shopping. Rain or shine I have a party to host tomorrow and I’m thinking no one will want to see me covered in dog hair or laundry. What do you think?

It’s time to plan Caden’s party, it’s at my parents house so I won’t have to do much running around. My mom will be hosting the party which is so nice to have the use of their waterfront for the kids to play. Mom loves to throw parties and cook, she is an amazing cook, her food is more for the grown up … which is great but the kids not always on board with dressed up mac and cheese with tomatoes or onions … lol. I love her food but the kids sometimes look at it like we’ve gone mad. She would like to do nice sandwiches. I think I may have to sneak some hot dogs down, I sworn not to bring them but I just know the kids would really want them … hehe so I must be on a covert mission to bring them in.
Now as many of you know my parents did a huge remodel of their waterfront and they say it’s for this party … hehe. God love them when we had my wedding at their house they did a huge remodel their too some how that included a new smoke house which I’m not sure how it played into being because of my wedding but it did … lol. So the lake is ready for a party, but as the rest of the country is having a heat wave here in the PNW we are experiencing storms and downpour of rain. And yes we are known for our rain but usually we’re pretty safe to plan a party in July with out having to worry about rain! I need all the prayers I can get right now for NO RAIN, right now they are calling for showers!
So now on to making the cupcakes, as you may have guessed I’m going to make them. I’ve been working very hard to be able to make the kids party cakes myself. Now I’m NO Duff, but I’m trying hard to make cute ones

Then of course I thought I’d do my pudding pops but make them like ocean colors so do dark blue, then light blue and white for the kids.
And for the adults and because my BF had her birthday last week I thought I’d make these Unfettered F-U-N . . . Rainbow Jelly Shooter! I found the COOLEST website for you Jello Shot fans It’s the Jello Shot Test Kitchen and she even has a book out. Talk about elegant grown up jello shots, she makes the coolest one’s with not sight of a paper cup!
So I think I’m set on the cupcakes, pudding pops and the Jello Shots to be made. I will sneak in some hot dogs
On a plus side Rick is scheduled to work that day and he couldn’t get the day off, so he is going to take a personal day which is not ideal but hey it’s better then him not being there (which most times he has to work and only can be there for 1/2 the time).
So I’m still sick so I need all the prayers I can get right now for no rain and to be done with the cold! Thanks again for all the well wishes you guys are just amazing!

So this weekend I took every ones advice (yes all the shouting has finally sunk in). Friday was a laid back night, Rick was still out of town so it was just me and the boys. Well at first it was just Caden and Roy. My parents picked up Cole before lunch from school and took him all over! I love my parents and the things they do, but man can they take him during a day I have him not when I'm at work ... LOL. And yup as soon as I got home they dropped him off! Oh one day it will be just a me day! Well I guess I got some grocery shopping in with just two kids.
e neighbor, well the previous ones that would be the case but FINALLY we got some nice ones with kids not too much older than Cole. Yeah so for 4 hours they played and I only had Caden with me. It was wonderful I checked emails and even did some needed catch up entering giveaways ... what I don't just have them I enter TONS of them!
Well at the moment I realized that I had no voice ... WTF, I take a easy day and everything goes to pot! So I had to call in or I should say IM that I wouldn't make my shift for the call center ... which killed me I hate not being the one you count on. I did go to bed and sleep a wonderful night, well that was until early Sunday AM when the boys decided mom needed to be up and of course dad didn't come home until 3am, so guess who gets to the duty. I did however curl up on the couch and relax, well between making breakfast for everyone. I got a late start but that was nice for once. Even though I ran to Wal-mart yesterday I forgot some fabric so I took Caden and off I went. I even went home and laid down
again ... yup not feeling up to par. I finally got my butt in gear and headed to my friend Rachael who is an amazing knitter was so kind to help me out. I have a new review/giveaway to be up hopefully if I get my butt in gear up on Saturday. It was one of those easy you can make this name pillow which if you sew would be no problem at all. My vas knowledge from High School Home-ec did not come with a huge amount of detail! As I proved when I showed up missing one of the key items needed! 
Yup that would be me, what you mean I don't need just fabric and batting? Oh yeah thread, webbing, stabilizer and all the other tools! Thank the lord Rachael had almost everything, but some of the webbing so a quick run to JoAnn's, we got some webbing and oh yeah look at that super cute monkey fabric I can use too (I know didn't I already pick up fabric?). So while at the cutting table I turn to see .... yup that would be Batman! A grown man and no he was not there for the store he was there to get some help. He was very nice to pose, I was being a sissy and tried to take his picture over my shoulder. Rachael just walked over and asked, image that? While we were out had to pick up some Popsicles for her son and oh yeah coffee!
Monday is a holiday day off for almost everyone, me I usually am off from my regular job but work my 3rd job that day. Well with no voice (yes did I forget to mention I STILL had no voice) I couldn't do the calls I would normally do, and I was not feeling good to even get my butt in gear to do the data entry. It has finally happened I ran out of steam, the little green monster stole my mojo and ran away with it. Like I told my boss on Monday the truck that stole my voice came back that night and ran over me a few times to make sure the job was good and done! So well Rick took Cole & Roy along with his friends to my parents house to go swimming in the lake I stayed inside and loved it. No voice and just feeling like a bum I headed back to Rachael house to finish up my
pillow. What I was determined to finish it! Oh yeah on the way there had to run to JoAnn's yet again, because I was so sure I needed more thread to finish the second pillow (who was I kidding?). Well Rachael at least got more material to make another pillow, yes she is that good she got one finished another one started while I was there and oh yeah 2 more started before Tuesday!!! Back to her house we go, where I started my project again. Then my machine decided to go in reverse only, my theory was to just turn my machine around and sew that way ... LOL. So Rachael being the amazing person she is took at her power tools and then took my machine apart. She found the problem did a mini solution for the machine so it would at least go forward. Then on to pillow making I go when all of 
a sudden my machine started to make a cachunk sound! REALLY does my life always have to go this way? Thanks to Rachael and her machine I ended up finishing Cole pillow, Caden's will have to wait until next Sunday! Yup you read that correct I know have a play date for mommy! Sundays will be craft day at Rachael house! I'm so excited one day with one kid, Rick will have to step up for one day. I know I ask so much!
