Hi my name is MOM oh wait my birth-name is Alexis. These days it's MOM and yes that's right it comes out at a level higher then a scream! I have 2 very active boys. Hope you enjoy the wacky world I call life between working full time and taking care of the 3 boys (that includes my husband).
I love rice krispy treats they can be made into any theme. For the Fourth of July I made red, white and blue. WELL I totally messed up the colors but it's still the right colors just not in the right order ... lol. You can make these with the kids which is fun and easy!
Ingredients
3 tablespoons
butter
1 package 10 oz. Marshmallows or 4 cups Miniature Marshmallows
6 cups Rice Krispy Cereal
Directions
1. In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add
marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
2. Add Rice Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
3.
Using buttered spatula or wax paper evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x
2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into 2-inch squares.
Best if served the same day.
Note
-For best results, use fresh marshmallows. -1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow crème can be substituted for marshmallows. -Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended. -Store no more than two days at room temperature in airtight container. -To
freeze, place in layers separated by wax paper in airtight container.
Freeze for up to 6 weeks. Let stand at room temperature for 15 minutes
before serving.
For this theme I used Red and blue food coloring (my favorite to use is AmeriColor Gel Food Coloring). I did a double batch and split it into 3 pots, one I dyed red and one I dyed blue and one I left normal for the white layer. You can do this with many different colors to fit any theme or holiday. ALEXIS NOTE: I spray pam (or butter spray) on wax paper and push them down, this I found to be the easiest and less messy way to do this.
Let sit and then cut into squares and let the fun begin!!
I know I'm late save for next year .. lol

Since we live in Washington this Superbowl is a special one. My oldest son's teacher is a HUGE fan. She took a picture of her class all dressed up and was on Website of the local News Station. So I wanted to do something fun for her class room, I was going to make this for my youngest son's class too but he was sick so I only had to make enough for one class room. I wanted a deep blue but Micheal's was out so I had to tint a light blue, it made the chocolate a little hard to manage. I found this idea for 12th Man on Party Pincing. **Updated with better pictures from my 2nd time making them **
What you need:
Candy Melts - Dark Blue
Candy Melts - Green
Candy Melts - White
Vanilla Wafers - I used Minis
Food Writer Black
Rice Krispy Treats
I used the mini wafers since I was going to have to make 60 of these for the two classes and wanted to stretch my rice krispy treats I made. I cut them into rectangles to be the bodies. I melted my Candy Melts and dipped the treats, just about 2/3 of the treat. I took a food writer and made the face. I melted some white candy melts and made the 12 on the blue and green to be the shirts. I then put a dollop on the un-dipped part of the treat to attach the face. I found when I did the green I used my fondant spreader knife and they turned out a little cleaner. Lesson learned for next time!

Next on my Minecraft domination party was rice krispy treats formed as Dirt Blocks and Creepers. NOW I saw some pretty cool ones and one by Nerdy Nummies but my first fail was that recipe. I tried to do the black chocolate melts stenciled onto a wax paper to form creeper faces. It didn't work at all! So I went to my back up of fondant cut out. I found these really cool Dirt Blocks on Haniela's.
For the Rice Krispy's you do a normal recipe
What You Need:
6 Cups of Rice Krispies (I bought mine in bulk section of Winco)
3 tbs Butter
1 (10oz) package of marshmallows (I use minis)
Food Coloring (Brown, Green)
Black Chocolate Melts or Black Fondant
Melt Butter in a large sauce pan over low heat. Add Marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Working quickly add rice krispies cereal and stir until the cereal is well coated.
At this point add the food coloring. I usually use Wilton Icing Colors, but I found at Hobby Lobby AmieriColor that comes in a great squeeze bottle. I will use these to color my fondant and icings from now on! I made 3 batches, one using brown color and 2 using green color.
Using a buttered spatula or wax paper (I use wax paper that I spray with pam) press into a greased pan.
Mincraft Dirt Blocks
For Dirt Blocks I pressed Brown rice krispy Treats into my silicone pan. I then topped with green rice krispies. I let them set up then cut into blocks.
Creeper Rice Krispies
For Creepers I pressed Green rice Krispies into a greased pan. When they set up I used my square Wilton Fondant Cutter (bought on Amazon) to make perfect squares. For the Creeper face I used mine Creeper Cookie Cutter (bought a set on Amazon). Since the cutter had the square part too I just pulled off the outside square leaving me just the face. I then placed the face onto my squares.
A few more things to come to finish out the party! I hope you have enjoyed all the items.
Any Themed Parties planned?

A few days back my dear friend Beth posted a recipe that I just had to try for my Christmas Packages that were going out. I had most of the ingredients on hand and went to my favorite bulk section at Winco for the rest of the ingredients.
Ingredients:
2 cups Rice Krispies cereal 2 cups dry roasted peanuts 2 cups miniature marshmallows 1 cup peanut butter 2 pounds white chocolate chips (2 12-oz packages plus 1 1/3 cup)
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine cereal, peanuts and marshmallows. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate and peanut butter on High for 1 minute and then in 30 second intervals until fully melted. Stir chocolate into cereal mixture. Mixture will be slightly runny. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper. Let set until firm, 2 hours. Store in an airtight container.
ALEXIS NOTES: I used White Chocolate melts, they melt nicer (no clumps and I think taste better). I used 5 cups (1lb = 2 2/3 cups) and found mine was a little too soupy so I added more of the dry ingredients until I got to a scoopable cookie.
These are so simple and I did take a taste of one and they were very yummy but pretty sweet so I only wanted to have one which is a good thing so I didn't eat the whole lot in front of me.
Thanks for Stopping by!

Next on our list was some turkey's for the boys class rooms. I of course couldn't make the same treat for both classroom. I found two really cute turkey's I wanted to try out.
First one I did was actually very simple. Caden helped decorate these for his classroom. I found these Turkey Rice Krispie Treats on Shugary Sweets. You start with a basic rice krispie treat, with a circle cookie cutter and some candy you have the perfect turkey!
Ingredients
For the krispie treats:
1/4 cup unsalted butter
10oz bag marshmallows
5 cup Rice Krispies Cereal
For the turkeys:
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels, melted
12 chocolate wafers or Hershey Kisses
candy corn
candy eyes (Wilton - Walmart, Target or Michael's sales them)
orange m&m's
Instructions
In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Once melted, add marshmallows and stir continuously until melted. Remove from heat and quickly fold in the cereal, until completely coated.
Press lightly into a buttered 13x9 baking sheet. Allow to set, about 30 minutes.
Using a 2 1/2 inch round cookie cutter (or whatever desired size), cut circles into the krispie treat. Eat discards immediately.
Using the melted semi-sweet chocolate, attach about 5 candy corn for feathers, one wafer for the face, two eyes and half of an orange m&m for the beak. Feel free to add a red candy (or pipe on red candy melts) for the waddle.
Alexis Notes: I used frosting as my glue instead of melted chocolate. Instead of hersey kisses I used mini Reese's Cups. I pick up my Candy Eye's at Walmart. Instead of Orange M&M's I used Reese's Pieces that I cut in half.
And the Second one I did was simple also. I did cheat and use chocolate covered Oreo's and already chocolate covered pretzels. I found this idea for Turkey Cookies on A Thrifty Mom. I took her idea and tweaked it a little bit.
Ingredients:
Oreo Cookies
Mini Pretzels
Red Gummy Worm
Candy Corn
Frosting
Chocolate Candy Coating
Wax Paper
I used chocolate dipped Oreo Cookies and Pretzels. This way I could avoid the melting of Chocolate Candy Coating and hand dipping. If you want to do or can't find these melt your chocolate Candy Coating, dip your Mini Pretzels and set them aside. When dry dip your oreo and place on 4 mini chocolate covered pretzels. I fanned them out to look like the feathers. If doing this method add your candy eyes, nose and waddle to the wet oreo cookie. Since I used chocolate covered oreo's, I melted a little chocolate to glue the oreo to the pretzels. I used frosting to add the eyes, nose and waddle. I wanted the waddle to look like a waddle so I used a red candy worm. For the nose I used a candy corn. A Thrifty mom used Red and Yellow Fruit foll ups. My way gave it more of a 3D look, it's your call.
Hope you are all have an amazing Thanksgiving & Black Friday!

My amazing friend April came over and helped me put together some special treats for the Church Cake Walk. I have 3 completed, one more to come plus I need to finish up the treat for Cole’s class room to go with the special pumpkin paper cards. First off we have a Brownie Pumpkin Cheesecake, that turned out so cute and yummy!
Next on our list was a fun Surprise Pumpkin Treats that were a sticky treat to do but so cute! I packed them up in a pie box that I got at Michael’s on clearance for $1.99. I hope these are a hit with the kids.
Surprise Pumpkin Treats

A fun way to twist up the normal Rice Krispie Treat

Last on today’s list are my FAVORITE they turned out so freaking cute! These Chocolate Batty Cupcakes! I can’t wait to see what people think of these. I found also on the clearance rack at Michael’s cupcake holder a 4pack for $2.99. I was able to pack these up and have a few to be able to give to the cake walk … Yeah!!
As usual it was a full packed weekend this weekend. I of course packed it all in! Saturday as most of you know I work Sat from 5am to 9am. Then I had to run get me and the boys dressed and run out the door to head to Lowe’s kid clinic to make a school house photo holder. All I have to say 1 mom vs 2 kids with hammers never seems to work in my favor … lol.
After Lowe’s we hit Ross to pick up 2 toys for the birthday parties we had to go to and oh yeah mom needed an outfit. One thing about working at home I don’t have much of a wardrobe now. Plus sitting on my rear all day may … just may have made it grow a tad bit out of my previous clothes. So I got home tried on my new top and jeans and of course had to play in the mirror for a while. hehe who would think I get nervous going to parties and fitting in I may just may practice my look and smile before we leave … ok maybe just a little pep talk too … hehe!
First birthday party here we come!!! Bouncy house is where it is at. And yeah my boys didn’t come out crying or bloody so it was a good day! Caden wasn’t having the bouncy house, to many big kids but then he decided to go in and had fun!
2nd Birthday party gave us hotdogs, burgers and ice cream cake. We ran around, ok the kids did I got to sit down and chit chat and even warm up by the bonfire. Yes I said warm up, the NW has been having an odd summer. We get sun and then all of a sudden it get breezy and cold.
Sunday our new church did a day of community service instead of services. I love to get out and to give a helping hand or in the service I chose was serving hot dogs at a mobile home park. I help the Pastor’s mom do a story board of Noah’s ark, she read the book and I put up the felt characters. Cole came with me which I thought would be fun for him but he got bored for a while the back yard didn’t have a lot of toys like I was told so that of course was a challenge with my hyper boy. Caden stayed at the church and played on the outdoor toy.
One of the other community services was to pass out goodies at the park and ride down the street. I offered to make a few goodies. I made Brownie Cherry Bites and my Rice Krispie popscicles. First off I made Brownie Cherry Bites. I was told by the church lady one of the gals said these were the best brownie’s she had ever tasted. I didn’t have one but they looked very moist and my neighbor got a plate too and she agreed .
Brownie Cherry Bites

I made these for a church outing and they were a huge hit, plus I shared some with the neighbors :)

Then I whipped up a batch of Rice Krispie Dipper Treats one with the sprinkles and then I experimented with dipped in milk chocolate and drizzling with white chocolate. I then put them in a candy bag and tied them up with a pink polka-dot ribbon. I’m so excited to hear that these were such a hit that one lady asked for my business card and would like me to make them for her niece's party. I think I may just have to put together a little side business .
So I had big plans to make a great meal last night, but chicken with corn just isn’t fancy and nothing worth blogging about … hehe! BUT I did make a fun treat for the neighborhood kids. These were real simple to make a little time and patience between each step. I think they turned out so cute. Adults and kids will love this fancy looking dessert of a classic!
Rice Krispies Dippers Treats

These a simple to make and can be decorated anyway you like.

Well I hope to get back to normal but sadly it just isn’t happening. This week was suppose to be great for me to get back on track but instead I have Cole having a melt down at summer camp and Rick in a funk also! Wish me luck and a few prays this week !
