Pumpkin Marshmallow Pillows

When I was younger my mom would make marshmallow pillows. Marshmallows dipped in butter and cinnamon sugar and then wrapped in a crescent roll (also great for Easter to represent the tomb). I had a house full of boys this weekend and wanted to make them for the kids, I had some pumpkin left over from a previous recipe so I added some to my pillows for an extra flavor.

What you Need:
Crescent Rolls
Large Marshmallow
Melted Butter
Cinnamon & Sugar
Pumpkin Spice
Pumpkin Puree

Unroll the crescent rolls, I added a tablespoon of pumpkin puree to each crescent, I just spread with a knife. Take a large marshmallow coat in the melted butter and then roll in cinnamon & sugar. Place the marshmallow on crescent roll. Wrap up around the marshmallow I try to close all openings. Then dip the whole "pillow" into the melted butter. I added a pinch of pumpkin spice on top of each pillow. Place into the oven and follow instructions of the crescent rolls. I found they needed to bake a minute or two longer then what my package said but it depends on your oven.

Raspberry Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls

This past weekend Cole's buddy spent the night so when asked to make breakfast I opened up the fridge found crescent rolls, cream cheese and jam. And into the google search I went and bam I found Strawberry Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls on Just a Pinch well close enough to what I had! I had Raspberry jam so it works!

I was a good girl with my diet and didn't eat one but my bestie was over since she was riding with my husband to work an event so I had her try them and got rave reviews.

Ingredients
1 pkg pillsbury crescent rolls
8 tsp strawberry jam
4 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 c sugar
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 egg white
1 tsp water
1 Tbsp sugar (to sprinkle on top, if desired)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 375. Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
2. Mix together cream cheese, sugar, lemon juice and vanilla extract until creamy and there are no lumps.
3. Unroll crescent rolls. On fattest part of triangle; spoon on 2 tsp of cream cheese mixture and 1 tsp of strawberry jam. Roll and make sure fattest part of crescent roll is on the bottom of pan so that filling doesn't ooze out.
4. Whisk together egg white and water. Brush over each crescent roll.
5. Bake for 9-10 minutes until crescent rolls are golden brown. Sprinkle with granulated sugar. (I used powder sugar)

Fall Recipe ... Mummy Dogs

Who says you have to have a Halloween Recipe only at Halloween?  I wanted to make something fun for the boys!  Plus something quick I could make after church, so this recipe I've seen on Pinterest and knew I had to make them.  I tweaked the recipe a little bit to make it quicker ... I'm all about the quick.

I went to Pillsbury to make their Crescent Mummy Dogs.

1
can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
2 1/2
slices American cheese, quartered (2.5 oz)
10
large hot dogs
Cooking spray
Mustard or ketchup, if desired

  • 1Heat oven to 375°F.
  • 2If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.
  • 3With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).
  • 4Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like "bandages," stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2 inch from one end of each hot dog, separate "bandages" so hot dog shows through for "face." On ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down); spray dough lightly with cooking spray.
  • 5Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. With mustard, draw features on "face."

Alexis Notes: I just used the pizza dough and cut strips and then wrapped ONE strip around the dog and cheese.

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Easy Kid & Adult Pleasing Recipe

Mother’s day Rick had to work during the day and the kids were dying of hungry after church so I wanted to make something quick.  I so this on Pinterest a while back and just knew I would have to make it.  The kids loved it and heck I even thought it was pretty darn tasty.  This could be a hit if you took it to any party.

Homemade Crescent Rolls w/ 2 Recipes to use them!

Happy Tuesday everyone! We had an amazing night last night with dinner and oh yes ended the night cleaning toilets at Cole's school. For you who are going "What happening" Cole's school to keep the tuition down each family takes a week of janitorial service. Yup so we had the day of Valentines day! We had yummy food and then cleaned toilets and oh yes sprinkles everywhere from the days activities! P.S. The baked Valentine Cards I made where a huge hit, the principal even came up to me while we were cleaning to ask how I made them (yes he was there @10pm when we showed up).

So to some yummy recipes! First off you know me and homemade I had two recipes I wanted to try that called for refrigerated crescent rolls. I hate using store bought in my quest to make everything we eat if possible I came across this recipe on allrecipes.com:

My first recipe was on The Daily Smash as a Chicken Taco Ring, I made it into a braid easier to do when you make your own dough so you don't have to cut rectangles :) yes I'm lazy like that :).

Next on my list to do was crescent Roll Lasagna by The Peppered Pantry, which I just rolled the dough out into a rectangle and folded it over! It turned out great.
