It's NOT because I'm Overweight ....

It's a vent time :). I have a family member in my life that makes it very clear how they feel about me being overweight. Most of you know me that I have been struggling with my weight since I was very young when my dad remarried. For my wedding I lost 80lbs (which was the result of working out SEVEN days a week and not having kids). Then got pregnant on our wedding night, then lost 60 lbs to get pregnant a second time. This time around I'm tired, my body is tired and I am limited on resources so here I am. I hear threw the grapevine I don't do things because my weight, this person doesn't know me very well if they did they would know that every weekend I'm out and about! So to set the record straight:

  1. And THIS is just one of the many reasons why I love ya lol. Seriously I think some people should spend a lil more time looking in the mirror and trying to figure out what's wrong with themselves before they start projecting their insecurities onto someone else!

  2. Ugh I'm so sorry sweetie. I'm with Allison on this. People who are down on themselves, miserable, just want to be inconsiderate others feelings, not fair at all. You rock just know that!!!

  4. I know this all too well. Every time you see a new OBGYN they have to remind you "If you would lose some weight" blah blah blah

Or when I go on an interview and have to hear "Well we have to lift lots of weight, and stand on our feet long hours" blah blah blah

Or when I would see my mom and the first thing out of her mouth was "You would be so pretty if you would lose that weight", and not "I love you, glad to see you, glad your here" blah blah blah

Just be you. Weight is not the measure of who we are, only a shell. You carry your beautiful shell/self very well my dear.

I am glad to see you. We would have good laughs in person. And eat. LOL but then go for a walk, then have a glass of wine.

Oh BTW I will not swim in the lake either ewwwww duck poo poo fish poo poo I know we eat them don't we LOL

  5. Some people will never ever get it! I have come to realize that I can't control other people's stupidity and meaness. I can only control my reactions to them and in order to not hand out a serious butt kicking I decided not to be around them anymore. It gave me such a sense of relief! GREAT POST!!! Blessings, Joanne

  7. Frankly I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut. If I had put up with that as long as you did I would just snap the next time I heard a comment from that someone like "I DONT GIVE A DAMN WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT MY WEIGHT! I AM TIRED OF YOUR CONSTANT CRITICISM. KNOCK IT THE FUCK OFF!" And then I would leave...Of course fantasy and reality are two different things and we know we can't always say what we would like too. I suppose you could always try the 'So and so, I know you mean well, but your constant critisism is harmful to me, please stop hinting and nagging me about my weight.'
I don't know hon, I am just sorry you have to get this crap from someone who should be supportive, not the opposite. Hugs.

  8. ((HUGS)) & more ((HUGS)) How can she be so dumb and so incrediably mean. Really she wanted to give you a scale?

IT'S NOT YOU!!! She really has issues so don't ever take anything she says to heart.

  10. Take it from someone who has been there - it will not change until you tell them to stop. In no uncertain terms.

    Send them this post.

  12. That is just real BS my friend..I hate family that does that crap.. I have to admit my mother likes that one and she is way bigger than me and always has been..lol..

  13. Good grief! She needs to back off already!

It's not like you're a sumo wrestler or something. Hearing those kind of digs all the time would make me want to drown my sorrows in a bag of Reese's.

  14. Are you SERIOUS? Someone in your FAMILY that is supposed to LOVE YOU is treating you like... you're a kid unable to make good decisions? I'd rather have a few extra pounds than be a waif that deprives herself!

I wouldn't be able to keep quiet. My mouth has gotten me in trouble a time or two but, I let people know where they stand with me... if someone wants to be snarky, I'll dish it right back because sometimes they need a mirror held up to their face to see just how much of a raging a$$hole they're being!

I don't like swimming at the lake either... I'm a good 30 pounds overweight still (I'm back on that damned Jenny Craig! LOL) but I still just don't WANT to go in the lake and my "ick" isn't about the duck poop or fish poop... it's the fact that you can't SEE anything under the water. There are LOTS of fish hooks and such that you could step on... and then that nasty water gets in your system. NO THANK YOU!

If you're given a chance to sit and RELAX... by GOSH YOU TAKE IT SISTER! I love to read, too!

And, I whole-heartedly agree about Christmas. It's time for YOUR family and YOUR traditions... not some obligatory shit that doesn't mean anything ... especially if some bitch is there making you feel badly. Yeah, tis the season... suck a fruitcake Hooker!

.... and she offered you a SCALE? Did you say, wow, that's really nice. I'll take the scale if you accept a role of f'n duct tape to put over your mouth. Haven't you ever heard if you can't say something nice... you shouldn't say anything at all. Go to kindergarten.... even my freakin KIDS KNOW THAT.

And she thought you were going to break her chair? ARE YOU FREAKIN KIDDING ME? I'd bring my own fold-up chairs next time you're in her presence... and make a point of saying... I brought these to ensure you don't have to flip out when I put on the sensors to back up into "sit down" mode.

    WHAT A BITCH!

You're much too good of a person... much too good!

  15. I know I'm a bit late to this party but really??? I mean, I know that people are just plain obnoxious at times. I'm sure people think I'm obnoxious because I don't mind my manners and I let people know exactly what I think regardless of who they are. But whoever this person is needs to be put in their place. You know it's going to happen sooner or later. My feeling is that you can either take it by the horns and end the situation as diplomatically as possible with an, "I know you really mean well but...", or let loose and blindside them with a snippy comment in retort. Something like, "I may be a little overweight but you're downright ugly."

Freaking people like love to stick their noses in and pretend they're boss of everything. It's no wonder I have no small love for most of humanity. lol I think I'll go hug my cat. :)

Wishing you all the best, Alexis!
