Bunny Puffs (Sweet Easter Treats)

Every year my friend holds a 1,000 egg hunt, it's something we look forward to every year. This year she had moved out of state, we all were very sad not only to see her go but our annual party. Then surprise surprise she fly's back in to visit and hold the party!  It was great to have this early so we could attend!  I flew back in Friday PM / Saturday AM so I was a little jet lagged but was able to make a few things for the party on Sunday.

I had these Bunny Puffs from Pillsbury saved on Pinterest and gave them a try.  NOW I went for the regular sized peanut butter cups. So mine were a little on the chubby side probably be better with the mini peanut butter cups. But over all they were cute!

Ingredients

1
can (8 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
8
miniature chocolate-covered peanut butter cup candies, unwrapped
8
white miniature marshmallows, cut in half
4
pink miniature marshmallows, cut in half
16
blue miniature candy-coated semi-sweet chocolate baking bits

Step

  • Heat oven to 375°F. Line large cookie sheet with cooking parchment paper; spray paper with cooking spray.
  • Unroll dough and separate into 8 triangles. Place 1 peanut butter cup in center of 1 triangle. Gently stretch corners closest to and farthest from cup together at top of cup, pinching edges together to seal around cup. Pull up third corner; firmly pinch edges to seal. Place on cookie sheet; twist 2 longest tips of dough to make ears. If desired, bend down longer ear. Repeat with remaining dough triangles and peanut butter cups, shaping and trimming dough as needed for desired shape.
  • Bake 8 to 9 minutes or until puffs begin to brown. Place 2 white miniature marshmallow halves and 1 pink marshmallow half on center of each for bunny nose. Bake 1 to 2 minutes longer or until puffs are golden brown and marshmallows are slightly puffed.
  • For eyes, immediately place 2 blue baking bits on white miniature marshmallows for pupil; remove puffs to cooling rack.
ALEXIS NOTES: I picked up jumbo crescent rolls and large peanut butter cups. I used large candy eyes and some black decorating gel for whiskers. I couldn't find pink marshmallows so I used mini white ones.

It's a Wrap!

It's been a crazy week with a lot packed in.  We had Easter, Cole's 10th Bday and Me trying to put finishing touches on the coming party.  Plus a little gym funny!

We had a Egg hunt at my parents house.
All Money man to be a kid again .. lol

YES I know this is not what Easter is about
But I love our Church has a bunny.
This is probably the last year I'll get Cole
with the bunny so I'm taking it!

I surprised Cole with my dad for his birthday.
We delivered Pizza and the creeper Cupcakes.

I don't know what it is about me, BUT every day I start my class at the Y and then the late comers come in.  AND they always decide that my personal bubble is where they must be.  I actually had to walk away Wednesday due to 2 ladies who where so close they were touching me.  I have a big thing with my personal bubble .. lol.  Instead of having a panic attack or doing something I would regret I moved :).

This was so me! I swear they were glued to me!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Easter Treat ... Easter Bunny Bread (Made with Basic Bread Machine White Bread)

Next on our Easter list to make was a fun treat to take to the annual 1,000 Egg Egg Hunt my friend host.  I showed you the Bunny Nutter Butter Cookies last week I made for the party.  I saw this Easter Bunny Bread on Pinterest and I knew I had to give it a whirl.  Their's was super cute and I must say I was pretty happy with the one I created.  I must say I can bust out cookies or cakes, NOW molding a bread into a shape was a WHOLE new ballgame for me.

The recipe on Taste of Home called for Frozen Bread.  I decided that I rather make a homemade bread.  I found a Basic Bread Machine White Bread that I MUST say is the BEST bread I have ever made!

What You Need:

1-POUND LOAF    INGREDIENTS2/3 cup                       water
4 teaspoons                sugar
3/4 teaspoon              salt
4 teaspoons                nonfat dry milk powder
4 teaspoons                butter OR margarine
2 cups                          bread flour
1-1/2 teaspoons         Bread Machine Yeast OR RapidRise Yeast

Directions
Add ingredients to bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer.

For the Bunny Bread I started with homemade bread, BUT you can use frozen if you would like.  If you want a great bread machine bread follow recipe above and just set for dough setting.  I doubled the recipe, since I was just doing the dough I knew my machine could handle the 2 lbs.  NOW if you're baking my would only handle 1 1/2 lbs.

What you Need for the Bunny:

Ingredients

  • 2 loaves (1 pound each) frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 2 raisins
  • 2 sliced almonds
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Dip of your choice

Directions

  • Cut a fourth off of one loaf of dough; shape into a pear to form
  • head. For body, flatten remaining portion into a 7-in. x 6-in. oval;
  • place on a greased baking sheet. Place head above body. Make narrow
  • cuts, about 3/4 in. deep, on each side of head for whiskers.
  • Cut second loaf into four equal portions. For ears, shape two
  • portions into 16-in. ropes; fold ropes in half. Arrange ears with
  • open ends touching head. Cut a third portion of dough in half; shape
  • each into a 3-1/2-in. oval for back paws. Cut two 1-in. slits on top
  • edge for toes. Position on each side of body.
  • Divide the fourth portion of dough into three pieces. Shape two
  • pieces into 2-1/2-in. balls for front paws; shape the remaining
  • piece into two 1-in. balls for cheeks and one 1/2-in. ball for nose.
  • Place paws on each side of body; cut two 1-in. slits for toes. Place
  • cheeks and nose on face. Add raisins for eyes and almonds for teeth.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30-45
  • minutes. Brush dough with egg. Bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes

For the Dip I just made a quick Ranch Dip.  I had a small dish that I cut a hole int he bunnies belly and placed it in there and added the Ranch dip inside.  I cut up celery and had mini carrots that I placed around the bunny.

Easter Egg Hunt Palooza ... 3 Hunts & Even a Bunny Visit

The Boys had the chance to go to 3 egg hunts and even get their picture with the Easter bunny!  We've had a fun packed weekend and previous weekend.  Lot's of candy (which mind you didn't seem to make it from the car to the house ... hmmm it must have been thrown out by mistake ... lol).

We've had a great time with friends and some great pictures!

The weekend before Easter.
We were invited to a brunch & egg hunt!

We hide 1,100 eggs!
We let the little kids go out the front door!

And the big kids went out the back door!
Cole was too fast and I couldn't catch up to take pics!
Then we had a group photo of all the kids.

Then Easter Weekend!
Saturday a local church had an egg hunt.
They put out empty eggs and then you dumped your eggs and
walked through a line and filled up on candy & fun stuff!

Saturday night church service ended with Easter Bunny Pics
Yes it's NOT about the bunny but it helps brings kids & parents in.
Plus I don't have to pay to take the kids to the mall one :)

Sunday we headed to my parents house for another hunt.
Mom and dad hid $1 where was this when I was young .. lol
The boys got stuffed frogs & funny bunny faces.
Of course new shoes & candy!

Hope you all had a fabulous Easter and a wonderful week.

Bunny Invasion for Egg Hunt ... "Cinnabunny" Rolls

For my friends Egg Hunt I wanted to bring two fun dishes first was the Nutter Butter Bunnies. So I go to old faithful Pinterest I went and came across Cinnabunny Rolls on Betty Crocker's Website.  These bunnies were just so freaking cute, ok when they puff up cooked not as cute but still!

I followed the recipe using the pre-made cinnamon rolls this time, but next time I may just make my own and make them.  This is super easy recipe and so cute that the kids will love!

1
can (12.4 oz) Pillsbury® Grands!® Cinnamon Rolls with Icing
12
raisins, for decorating
8
sliced almonds, for decorating
Coarse sugar or sprinkles

  • 1. Start by removing the cinnamon rolls from the package. Place 4 cinnamon rolls on large lightly greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Unroll remaining 4 cinnamon rolls and place on cookie sheet touching one of the coiled cinnamon rolls and folding ends under to create the floppy bunny ears. Pinch the dough to secure the ears to the bunny head.
  • 2. Firmly press 3 raisins on top of each roll to form the eyes and nose and the almonds for the teeth.
  • 3. Bake according to package directions.
  • 4. Cool completely, frost and decorate the ears.

Hope you all have a Hop a long day!
Yes I have more fun Easter Recipes to come this week!

Bunny Invasion for Egg Hunt ... Nutter Butter Bunnies

This weekend was my friends annual egg hunt, she puts on this amazing event and I like to bring something special.  Last year I did the Jello Egg Shots & Easter Bunny Cookies.

Last Years Creations (link above)
Easter

This year I wanted to make bunnies but a different kind.  I found these super cute Nutter Bunnies  on Plain Chicken.  They were super easy to make and They were so CUTE!

1 pack Nutter Butter cookies
1 (24oz) package vanilla almond bark
large marshmallows
pink sanding sugar
sprinkles
edible marker

Cut marshmallows in half to make 2 rounds.  Cut each round in half and dip the cut side (sticky side) into pink sanding sugar.  Set aside.

Roll out a large piece of wax paper to place the dipped cookies on.  Melt almond bark according to the package directions.  Dip 6 Nutter Butters in the almond bark, shake off excess almond bark.  Place on wax paper and attach ears.  Using tweezers, place nose sprinkle on the cookie.

Repeat with remaining Nutter Butters.  Allow to set up completely (about 30 minutes to an hour).  Draw face on bunny with edible marker and enjoy.

** Alexis Notes - I found that I had to cut the marshmallows in 4th instead of just in half (they just looked too big the other way).  Safeway by the house was out of almond bark, so I just melted some white chocolates.  The edible markers I had on hand didn't seem to work.  So I ran to Michael's to find out there was Edible Marker's for Chocolate Melts (which works also on chocolates).  I used gel to make the eyes and the pink marker for the whiskers and nose (they didn't have a black marker in there). **

Just wait tomorrow will be Bunny Cinnamon Rolls I made.

And We Wrap Easter with Fun Things!

One of my favorite (IN the past since I’m being good and didn’t eat one) is Cadbury Eggs.  OMGosh do I love them!  I saw this recipe on Pinterest and thought it would be perfect to make for my neighbors.  I did have a very small piece but it was very sweet and yummy!  This Cadbury Crème Fudge is a must for any Easter event.

Ingredients:

1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup butter (room temp)
3 cup powdered sugar
12 ounces chocolate chips

  1. Mix together corn syrup and butter
  2. Mix in powdered sugar
  3. Separate 1/3 into another bowl and dye smaller portion yellow with food coloring
  4. Put wax paper in a small cake pan and sprayed a little cooking spray. I used a silicone pan with cooking spray, skipped paper.
  5. Press the white and yellow goodness in the bottom of the pan
  6. Pour melted chocolate chips over the top and keep in the fridge
  7. Eat when the chocolate firms up

Recipe

Next was a fun thing for the kids!  I’ve been seeing this on Pinterest and just had to try it.  Homemade Silly Putty, doesn’t that just take you back to childhood?  I couldn’t believe how easy this was to make! 3 items and getting your hands a little dirty and your done!

  • Equal parts Elmers Glue-All (multi purpose glue)
  • Equal Parts Sta-Flo Liquid starch
  • Food coloring

It's important that you don't substitute another brand or type of glue for this one. Measure out your glue.  Add the food coloring to the glue and stir. Add the same amount of starch to the glue mixture and stir.  It instantly starts to turn into a gooey mixture.   At this point you want to let it sit for about 5 minutes so the glue can absorb the starch. Pour the excess liquid out and plop the goo on a paper towel for a minute or so. Kneed the goo for about 5 minutes.  It'll be gooey and sticky and slimy at first.  Push through it and keep kneading it.   If it’s a little stringy add a little more glue (I had to).

What I brought to the party!

We had a fabulous day even with an egg hunt in our yard and our neighbor’s yard.  It was so much fun I hope it is a new tradition.  So What did you do?  What did you make?

Easter Egg Hunt & Recipes (duh … it’s me … lol)

My friend from school has an annual Egg hunt.  The boys and I were invited to join in this year.  The boys were so excited!  And I of course couldn’t go empty handed.  So I found 2 new recipes to try out.

First is a version of Jell-o Shot I’ve made before this time I did it in layers and put in these cute egg molds.  I used from my favorite adult beverage site Jelly Shot Test Kitchen her Candy Corn Jelly Shot and made it into a Easter themed version.  I made the milk layer and then 2 layers of a flavored Jell-o.  Follow her instructions to a T, believe me I didn’t and ended up with goo one time!  Make sure to let the jello layer set up in the fridge and then do the next layer set up and so on.  You can do multiple layers but I found that is super time consuming .. lol.  3 layers are my most … hehe.

Easter1

Of course I had to make something for the kids.  I found this on Pinterest it was linked to a FB page picture only so I winged it and figured it out Smile.

What you Need:

  • Oreo Cookies (If you can find the White Fudge Dipped ones you can skip the White Chocolate Step Below)
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Large Marshmallows
  • Colored Sugar (I used Blue or Pink)
  • Black Edible Pen or Black Decorating Gel
  • Pink Jelly Beans or Pink Candies

If you don’t find the White Fudge Dipped Oreo’s, you’ll have to melt white Chocolate chips in the microwave.  (NOTE remember to melt it in 30 second intervals.  IT will BURN remember my post, yup I proved it can be done).  After melted dip the oreo’s in and make sure they are coated front and back.  Set them aside to dry.  Cut marshmallows diagonally dip the sticky side in the colored sugar.  Attach two marshmallows to the top of your white chocolate dipped cookies (this will help them stick).  I couldn’t find pink Jelly Beans so I found a pink candy for the nose (put on while chocolate still wet).  When everything is dry either use edible pen or I used food gel. Keep refrigerated until  you want to serve so the chocolate stays hard.

Easter2

What I took to the party, aren’t they cute?

Easter

And some fun pictures from the Egg hunt and party!  Our host had the best treats she had Blue Martini’s and even made a Ham with Beans!  It was a fabulous time.  The boys played well no real tears and I was able to actually sit and not have to keep looking over my shoulder.  I can’t wait to go back to her next party!

Happy Early Easter!  Hope you find something here you may want to make.

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Spring Concert, Home Improvements and Easter

Wow it's been a heck of week, I've learned I NEED to go the gym to get some stress out! Feeling much better! LOL I've been completely blessed by my amazing work family and I can't say Thank you enough for how much they care and made me feel special.
So with Rick not working full time we get projects done around the house ... lol. We got the last of the doors up in the hallway my bedroom and the bathroom. I couldn't believe how much a door could change the look of the house. It really made it look more updated! Fingers crossed when I try to refinance here in a few months it goes well!!! Rick's buddy and his brother came over to help ... they had to have me take a picture of them hugging him. Rick not pleased ... lol. I couldn't believe how nice it was to get into my room with out the door. We have a LARGE bed so it's hard with the door open to get in and out. ALMOST told him to keep it off .. lol
Also this week we had Cole's Spring Concert, this is the first year it was close to Easter which was perfect timing. He goes to a great small Christian School and they sang so beautiful. Cole and 4 of his buddies even had a special song! My dad came and helped with Caden, I love my dad he always helps so much! This is the first one Rick made it too (another nice thing about no job) and he was able to video tape it for me. Afterwards dad treated us to dinner! I don't know what I would do with out him. He's the best dad ever!
Saturday after work I got the table set up for eggs. I picked up a dino and monkey kit for the boys! Boy that went fast! They loved it and even liked the hard boil eggs, who would have guessed that?
We had a Egg Hunt at Church but we arrived a little late and it was open to all so all the neighbors showed for the hunt not church and had BAGS full of eggs. Sharing was not in their vocab. Poor Cole was so sad :(, but I promised we'd do a hunt at home!
While waiting for dinner we played a little Wii! Cole showed GG (my grandmother) how to play Wii Bowling! LOL look at her go, 81 and rocking the Wii!
Cole's party is in a few weeks, we're going with a Super Hero Theme. So if the kids want to dress up and come they can, that way all Super Hero's are welcomed. My mom bless her heart made a T-shirt for Cole from Felt I bought at the dollar store. For their Birthday Cards I love to put a picture of them. A few pictures of Cole in his costume, and of course Caden and had to get into it. By the end you have the disheveled Cole Super Hero picture ... lol. P.S. no that is not the middle finger it's the #1 I promise! I had to zoom and double check!
Phew that was one heck of a weekend! It was a slower weekend at work but it was nice to get to the gym too! Thanks for stopping by, hope you all have a wonderful day!
