Wow another weekend I think I sat down at one point!

It was one of those amazing weekends that kept us a moving!  Saturday was the day of stuff as much as you can in one day.  Saturday was a busy day at work and then some running around then off to a bouncy house party!  Since we live in the North West it of course rained but the kids had fun anyways!  It was a great time plus it was at a friends house that I haven’t seen since High School.

Blogger Pics342

Then after the birthday party we head back home to meet Cole’s school at the Rainier’s Game.  Can I say again how much I love this school.  Our tickets came with a hotdog, chips and a drink.  The boys actually did really well.  Caden got a bit antsy but it was fun and for you who know me know I HATE baseball and I actually enjoyed it.

Blogger Pics343

Then Sunday after church we headed to a friends house for a little play time.  I then thought we would go to a park. So after 2 places and a no go I thought what the heck let’s go to McD’s and the kids can play.  This is when I almost went postal!  There were around 20+ kids running screaming.  When a BIG dad came marching up to me screaming at me I need to check my kid and he was out of control and he threw a young kid?  I was WTF?  Cole is a lot of things loud and has tons of energy but I HAVE NEVER seen him throw a child.  Then the guy brought the mom over to me to show the back.  I made Cole apologize but I was beyond words.  If I was on my game I probably would have smacked the dad.  I talked to Cole and Caden later and he said in tears he never threw the kid.  He did trip and accidently pushed him.  I was so furious that guy made me feel so small along with all the NASTY looks I got from other parents that had no clue but immediately made my son the bad guy.  NEXT time dude you get in my face you’ll be on your arse!!

It was my turn to make dinner for the youth group at church so I whipped up a great potato soup (I added in some spinach to give them a little more veggies).  I know most of these kids only eat fast food so I love to make sure I give them something new each time it’s my turn.  The youth group leader came up to me on Sunday to tell me how much they enjoyed it! Got to love that! Smile

I think we sat down this weekend?

Saturday was a BUSY day, I worked then hit the gym and then to a fun out door birthday party!! Nothing like water soakers, silly string and piƱata's (yup two of them)! The boys had a blast Smile.

Blogger Pics338

Saturday night rained after the party and I was dealing with a headache so I took the boys to run it out at McD’s. Then Sunday after church we were suppose to go to zoo but the rain stopped that so we met our friends at McD’s to run it out.

Blogger Pics339

Sunday night we had dinner at our cousin’s house and thankfully the rain stopped so the kids could run it out outside. Rick’s cousin’s wife is a hairdresser and graciously agreed to cut the boys hair. She wouldn’t let me pay her so next time I’ll have to give her some flowers.

DO YOU SEE CADEN AND THE Gary Busey hair? LOL

The weather is looking up so we had a picnic outdoors for the boys and our friend Killian.

And the yummy dessert from YES my favorite site SkinnyTaste.com for Blueberry Peach Crisp.

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Run Run Run

*****UPDATED****** I went and reloaded the photos again I hope you can see them!!!
FIRST off the delay on this post is that Blogger is still giving me issues posting pictures! Since MOST of my post include pictures it becomes a bit of a pain in the rear. Fingers crossed after I spend the time to type this up you too can see the pictures ... UGH
This weekend was VERY busy and fun, we filled every minute with an activity! I've come to the conclusion that I'm not going to wait for an invite or be turned down to come visit I'm just going to load the kids up and go. McD's with yes is like the seventh level of H**L is ok AS LONG AS we come straight home and bath the boys. So there you have it! lol
Cole's school was on Spring Break last week!
Time to spend with our buddy Jake
Saturday after I got down with work we hit the Lowe's Kid Clinic
YUP FREE every other week!
Then we hit McD's to play!
OK all was fine until this dad came in with 2 kids! They just sat down to eat and then abruptly rushed out! Then Cole comes up to me, a kid pee's ALL over the steps to get into the playcenter! YUP you got it, it was dad that left. Ok I get being embarrassed but leaving NOT telling ONE employee what happened is unacceptable! Kids were walking threw the freaking PEE. So one parent went over talked to a employee to come clean up after like 5 min of me trying to keep the kids from the pee area I went over to talk to a employee. Who then said they were busy, I said well give me a bucket I'll clean it up (heck I wk McD's in H.S. I can handle this!). She then went a manager who then said oh yeah I forgot ... REALLY health Code lady come on! So they send a kid out with 2 towels to clean up this mess ... UGH.
And for the BAD haircut. This is after my mom trimmed the bangs so they were as straight as possible!! YUP Rick let Cole pick his own hair cut ... THE BOWL and then the lady didn't even cut straight or in even spots!
Sunday after Church and a Carnival Meeting ... Did I say that? Yes I promised the new girl that took over the carnival I would help but I WOULD not do anything with the ladies from last year. She swore they would have NOTHING to do with it! There was of course a new lady who was pushy that is helping on other things. She WAS rude Every time someone talked she would interrupt and answer the question. At one point I turned to her and said I will answer my own question thank you :). Then off to Rachael's to play and have a quick cup of coffee.
Then to the 2nd McD's that was all about Dino's on the walls, a T-Rex Skeleton, and a Dino to climb on. The boys loved the wall Murial and Skeleton but the play town was more for little kids and not very big so we didn't stay long. I came home and made dinner then sat down to watch Army Wives ... oh lord yes that is what I look like after I've cried for a full hour of a show. Yup of for my critic who gets on me about being so emotional I do cry at TV :)
So there we have it fun times :). Hope you all have an amazing week! HUGS

P.S. I'm still heading strong at the gym I've gone everyday for the last week and a half! I weigh in tomorrow, prayers are appreciated :).

WWW ~ Playdates & a Power Outage

This is kind of a weekend plus some :). We've had a busy few days so I'm wrapping it all up into one post :).
Wednesday Cole had to sing for Lent Evening Services, Dad took us out for dinner after!
Thursday Power Co. post the power on our block will be out Friday!
YUP one day notice, had to work at my parents house, with all the temptations!
Don't worry I stuck to one (ok two cookies) ... they will be counted after I left for sure!
Friday Pizza night I whip up a little something for me!
Saturday I took the kids to McD's so I could read & they could play!
Sunday we visited a friends house and the boys played!
While I gave her a lesson in making bread.
Tuesday we had company come over to play & dinner!
We had so much fun! I hope we can do it on a regular bases.
I promise to cook if they come over :).

And because we had St. Patty's Day last Thursday I had to show off the dish I made. It was so yummy!!!

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Just Home Time!

Can you believe we had no parties or anywhere to go this weekend? I know believe me it wasn't with out a lack of trying. I was calling and calling and no wanted us to come visit :(. I'm the type of mom that so many of friends say I go to much. I just can't sit at home with the boys all weekend long. I love to get us out of the house plus it gives me the adult time I so need. Working from home I don't get much adult time so weekends are my only time. Ok I need to find a mommy that lives by me that would want to meet like once a month or every other weekend.
We did have some art ala Caden!
We put together a puzzle & even hit McD's play land
so Mom didn't loose her marbles!
Sunday Cole's Class sun in church (to keep tuition down this is required).
He did such a GREAT job singing Go tell it on the mountain.
We even cleaned the boys room & we donated toys!

Have a wonderful week! Here to a great weekend and hopefully someone will return my call for a playdate :).

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Just a little Running Around

Just a little running around and fun things around here. It was a fun and busy weekend but loved it!
Found a new way to make my caramel to get out of the pan.
Sadly it broke but I'm working on it!
Cole reading to me while I cook
Caden decided he needed to sit in his chair on Cole's bed.
Saturday we headed to Rachael's house & the play yard!
After our play date, the boys were ramped up
So off to Seven Level of H*** McD's Playland
& Some light reading for mom :)
Sunday after church we meet up w/ my parents.
Yummy Ice Cream for all!
Yup Caden isn't a cold fan so he had to eat w/ spoon .. lol
Then I found on craigslist outfits for Mario Brothers.
the overalls were handmade I should have asked for a photo of them.
I'm hoping Rachael can help me fix them up a bit.
The hats were super cute :)

WWW ~ New School, Blueberries & Some down Time

It was actually kind of a lazy weekend ... I know shock and Ahhh! We did have a little running around but mom actually had some time to breath and take a nap :).

The Highlights :)
Cole Started First Grade!
New School, he's adapting well.
He's antsyness is calming a bit (we'll talk about that soon)
Caden decided while mom was finishing Saturday at work:
He would be come the new Roller Skate Derby :)
After work we head up to my parents house to pick Blue Berries!
My parents have 7 bushes and it was a bumper crop!
Saturday Afternoon:
Lunch & hanging in the back yard!
Cole has now gotten good at catching the frogs.
One decided that he rather hang on the jetski toy instead of the water!
Sunday momma was tired so we hung out at home!
Then I went to the 7th level of H*!@ - McD's Playland
Thankfully just the boys - straight hm for a bath!
And what to do with some of the Blue Berries :)

Ingredients

  • 6 cups blueberries, rinsed and lightly dried
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Pinch salt

Topping Mixture:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
  • 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 stick room temperature unsalted butter, cubed
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • Ice cream, for topping

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Toss blueberries, cornstarch, sugar and a pinch of salt together in a bowl.

Combine flour, oats, brown and white sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and pecans in a bowl. Add butter and pinch into chunks. Mix until it looks crumbly.

Add the blueberries into a 2-quart baking dish. Top evenly with the crumb mixture. Bake for 40 minutes. Serve with ice cream and whipped cream.

ALEXIS NOTES: Next time I'll use a smaller pan, I think it would be better so you have more berries and topping. If you use the larger pan it's more spread out. I used whole wheat flour and sugar substitute. Skipped the pecans, the whipped topping and ice cream. Now it was lower in calories but that didn't stop me from eating and eating :).

WWW ~ U Fish, Birthday Party, Costco and Home Improvements

Holy smokes talk about a full weekend, I'll keep this short since it's late and this is also a crazy week at work and I need all the beauty sleep I can get :).
Saturday I worked as usual 6am to 10am and then it was rush around get the boys dressed and out the door.
Stop #1 we met up with my GF and her 2 boys at a U Fish. Ok yes those who know me know I'm so not the outdoorsy person. My GF that we went with is and always makes fun of me, it's just not my gig. But my boys are boys and love to go outside and get dirty and fish are cool. Yes I let them be boys and play in the dirt so take that people who don't think so!
Here we are fishing the boys got 2 each, I was the baiter.
Yes that is my YUCK I can't believe I'm touching this face!
All the boys had a ton of fun and it was worth every penny!
No I didn't take home fish :)
Caden of course got board quick but they had animals!!
So we walked around and checked them out!

Stop #2 of the day was a birthday party. So after fishing and lunch I had to run to get a gift and then to the party. Sadly it poured down so we didn't stay long.
Stop #3 was Costco for some quick groceries. Then it was a melt down for a very tired Caden.
Stop #4 After naps was to the 7th element of hell (AKA McDonalds Playland). The boys were bouncing off the walls. Usually I hate that place but it was one of those things you have to do. Then home for a quick bath!

Sunday we went to visit my other GF and her kids, sorry forgot the camera.

Also we had some home improvement going on!

1st was the couch had a friend sit on it and break it :(. Thankfully Rick was able to take it apart and fixed it!
Then when we first moved in 7 YEARS ago my parents bought us doors. One set is the french doors we already put in, then was this other door that thank god has been stored under beds and rooms and was still intact. My parents would have killed me if it was broke, would have been a $400 oops. So the adventures in a pocket door has hit my house. Let's just say this quick install was my whole wall taken down to the stud and then those were taken down, a new header installed and all new sheet rock! Let's just say the mudding is still going on, my house is still not back to normal (one week later... ugh)
My dad came to help, thank you!!!
Cole even got to screw in nails to the drywall and knock down a wall!
Door in, sheetrock up but still mudding!
Holy Moly Ok there it is that was a weekend and some. One day I'm going to get some piece and quiet! LOL

WWW ~ Gorilla Warfare AKA McDonalds Playland

This weekend was kind of a lazy one I know shut your mouths! Saturday I worked the morning and then spent sometime trying to catch up on blogs. I'm so sorry I haven't been around much after work like usual. It's been very busy it should be getting into a better routine soon so I'll have better time management for after work stuff :). So Saturday was Laundry and a little cleaning and just hanging out!

Well you know what hanging out can do to kids, yup bounce off the wall. So what do you do on a rainy day with not a lot of money! You go to McDonalds Playland or as I like to call it Gorilla Warfare for kids.

Things to pack
Hand Sanitizer (you may need to drink it at the end of the night)
Wipes because everywhere you sit and touch is a sticky goo ... don't even ask!
A good book (so you can look over to give dirty looks to the kids and the couple in the corner)
A few dollars (the dollar menu rocks)
And full body arm to protect your kid and maybe yourself!

So what you find at Gorilla Warfare McDonalds Playland
  • A great culture diverse population, sadly no one that spoke English to talk with (mommy needs some adult time!
  • 2 Rough and Tuff boys that were knocking down everyone. (watch out boys or this mom just might closeline you back!)
  • 13 year olds that maybe a little to old to be running around in there but at least were nice.
  • Buttcracks poor kids it sucks being chubby and your pants don't fit on your belly (from a mom that once was that little girl)
  • A 6 year old that skirt was so short that let's just say Brittany Spears skirt was more modest in her getting out of the car moment!
  • Same 6 year old skirt that had so many rhinestones and bling on it Elizabeth Taylor would have been jealous!
  • My 2 year old still scared and won't be beyond the first step into the plastic germ contraption!
  • My 5 year old will call everyone buddy or friend!
  • My 5 year old will be such a boy and of course go for said bling butt aka Brittany wantabe! (oh crap the years to come ... no son NOT that one)
  • Same 5 year old will be chased by bling butt and she'll even play hit with her purse .. hey wait you're too young to be flirting like that. (Save that for your drunkin teen years please)
  • My 2 year old will go for the said 13 year old and will have a mental break down when she leaves for the bathroom and will instantly stop crying when she returns. Oh great now I have to worry about Cougars with my youngest!
  • Can this get any worse oh yes it can! You look in the corner to see bling butts parents MAKING OUT!!! Not only making out but his HAND is up her skirt!!! REALLY people we're in a kids zone. You see me yes I will keep giving you my hairy eyeball until you stop!!! Well that explains the 5 kids and why bling butts skirt is so short and she's clinging to my child. No we are not your way out ... Run Cole run fast little man ... LOL :)
  • Oh don't be sad boys I promise there are better ones out there and we'll find them (oh wait I'll find them for you!!!)
Sunday was church were a great college student evangelist came in. They were so powerful they do street dramas. I never heard such a thing. They go out almost every week and do dramas showing how things take us away from God and tempt us. I tried to youtube it but no luck. I did find other groups but not these college students. They stuck with lust, vanity, drugs/alcohol and greed since those are the easiest to act out. Youtube and you can see some dramas that are cool to check out!

The boys headed up to my parents house for fun time! Then we took them to a local nursery that was all decorated for Christmas to take pictures of the boys infront of the trees for our Christmas Card! It's such a great idea (THANKS Mom) and FREE my favorite word! I'll post the pictures later. They are so cute this years cards are going to rock!!!

The Grump Stricks again

Yesterday was the typical Saturday morning, I got up a little before 5am to work my 2nd job for a call center. Calls were very slow, which was kind of nice, since Caden woke up a few times an I tried to sooth him back to sleep. About an hour left of my shift grumpy boy (Rick) walks out and complains about taking care of the boys. I know this is an age old question, but why is it when dad sick the world stops but if mom gets sick she still has to take care of everyone?

I finish me shift to find kids running back and forth wanting breakfast, you know since I make them starve all the time. I make up a quick omelet with the ham left overs and a ton of cheese. During the process I shred my knuckle off. After some not so choice words and hunting with no luck for band aides I move on to laundry. Avoiding at all cost my bedroom where grumpy has taken up residence. The boys were strictly warned to stay away from there, I played with the boys while Roy stayed in his room. I now know how it feels to be exhaled, whenever it's just me and the boys I'm avoided like the plague. Now you put Rick out in the front room and immediately there on the couch with him. So when Rick stumbled out of the room in even more of a grumpy mood I had no idea what the deal was. Well come to find out every 20 minutes Roy would open up my bedroom door and ask Rick to hang out in there with him. Rick would tell him know and 20 minutes later he would be back saying he was bored. Then he came in telling him he was suppose to go to a birthday party today. Rick looked at him like hello when have I ever known about parties go ask Alexis. He left and returned 20 minutes later saying he was bored again and again. Finally after about 15 times Rick got fed up and came out to me to handle it. Really what is me saying anything going to do? Ok fine, I have a talk I get the same blank look like I'm nuts and remind him the party is next week for my friends son. Also reminded him to come to me there are plenty of items to do in the house, we can't always go out and do things. Geez when did I start an amusement park with 24 hours of activities?

I give up and make plans to take everyone to Zoo Lights, yes this sounds like a good plan but when it's the end of the season and you don't go as soon as they open it's NOT. So after a report from my friend there trying to park, we decide to go to plan B. Find a jumpy house place for the boys, yes this would be a good plan if they weren't all CLOSED for private parties! Chuck-E Cheese Tarra suggest, which makes my tummy turn. That place just gross me, I'm not a huge germaphob but that place does it to me. So yes the next best place McDonald's play land, yes I had a tummy turn on that one too. I figured it would be easier to get Cole out of and as soon as we get home I'll wash him ;). Just to state the obvious when it the DEAD of WINTER socks are NOT an option! I counted 5 yes 5 kids with no socks, since you have to take your shoes of to play in there. You know how I know this because a oh so sweet little girl told me several times that if Caden was going to go in his shoes needed to be removed. I politely told her over and over that he was not going in, so step off sister! Just Playing!

True to form boys hit the tub as soon as we got home and I promised we'll go early and do Zoo Lights today. Fingers crossed Grumpy can get into the dentist soon, before you see him on the back of your milk carton :), Kidding I think!

Since I worked my 2nd job last night also and got off around 1:30 and had to deal with cranky sick boys (Rick and now Caden) I was so ready for sleep. Again true to form Caden got up at 7:30am and here we are. So hoping to start the day off right I made french bread with my homemade bread! Very yummy! I'm know looking for a new bread recipe and a apple pork roast is in the crockpot pictures to follow in the next post!

And because I ROCK like that check out my newest award from Chef E, it's the coolest award I love it! Thank you!
