Remodel Update

We are still in the middle of remodeling our house. Last few years I've been gathering items so we could be ready when we started and also not to have to go broke buying all the items at once.

One thing we did learn is make sure you have everything stored correctly AND you double check how much of an item you will need!  We found one of the cabinets we bought got some water damage in the garage and had to replace it. AND we didn't calculate the area we would need for tile right. We picked up a tile I loved but when it came time to put it up I found we were 3 sheets short! So off to the store we went to find out that tile has been discontinued and NO one had it any more. Off to the store to return the tile we bought and picked a different style. A little more expensive but it turned out really pretty.

Have a GREAT Holiday Weekend!

House Remodel .. Kitchen under construction please forgive the dust!

Oh yes it's back to remodeling time here at the house. Rick spent his last two days off taking out the old cabinets and adding the new cabinets.  The cabinets are coming together nicely. Everything that should be in them is still all over the house in every knock and cranny ... lol. Since I work from home it is sure fun, but always thankfully I can move around the house with my laptop!

Please forgive me for the delay on my responses.

Remodeling Funny

As most of you know we've been remodeling our kitchen around here.  This week Rick took a break from the kitchen and cleaned up the garage to organize and make it work better while doing our projects.  Remodeling the kitchen is especially fun for me since I work from home and my office is in the dinning room.  It's coming along and looking so pretty!  So to make you laugh I found some funnies!

Featured Cupcakes & Going ons!

I'm so excited my Angry Bird Cupcakes were featured on Posed Perfections Creative Ways this week.  A big thank you Nici for featuring them!  It made me smile since this was the cake I delivered to a very ungrateful and RUDE mom who didn't even say thank you for the cupcakes that took me 5 hours to make.

Next on my list of things going on is more of the remodel!!! We now have counter-tops in the kitchen.  Well on the island side!  We have new cabinets in on that side and now the tile went in.  We picked a really cool charcoal that has flecks of silver that is so pretty! Rick put a high shine on them and they just pop!

He also hung the closet doors in our bedroom and started on the doors in the pantry. I even got busy to organizing my pantry, all rubbermaid is labeled and easy to get to. I also found some amazing lights to hang over the bar side of my island.  I found these regular $50 on sale for $7, yes $7!!  Hopefully those will go up in a week or so.

Have a GREAT weekend!

One More update of what's been going on ...

The remodel is moving along here.  I am crazy busy with the kids and all their activities and me keep over volunteering to make cakes (but I love it so it's a good thing!). I'm trying to get around to say hi to everyone, sorry while we are in this mess.

This week Rick worked on putting in the upper cabinets.  We have a small galley kitchen so we had to put uppers back in, we were able to find a microwave with a vent to get rid of the ugly range fan we had.  It still has a little work to be done adding the back and staining the cabinets but we at least have the feel of how it's going to look.  The new chairs we picked up on clearance look amazing at the bar!

I also put together some fun pumpkin cookies with a spider in the middle for a friend who needed a little cheering up.

And to end this week I signed up for 2 more cakes to make for Birthday Dreams .. yes I think I may be over doing it. LOL but I love to bring them to the kids.  Here is what is on my list to do.

Have a wonderful day!!

Happenings Here ... High School Reunion and House Remodel

It's been crazy busy around here but it's been great!  This week we have teacher conferences so it's 1/2 days around here, which when you work from home makes it a little fun but we manage .. lol.

THIS is the first time that I did not have a pit in my stomach when having these conferences. The teachers had nothing but great things to say for BOTH boys.  It was so amazing to sit there and here my boys were on track and excelling!  We've worked so hard to get here!

I also had my 20 year High School reunion this past weekend!  I know time sure does fly by fast.  I was only going to go to the pre-funk the night before but a friend had an extra ticket and offered it to me!  So I went and I'm so happy to say I did it was a great time!

Me in High School and Prom :)

The first night I met up with some friends and we hit the Homecoming Football game and then went to the bar for the prefunk.

Had to go out and buy some Purple and Gold to wear .. lol

The second night I met up my other friends and we went to the reunion.  It was at a casino conference room with buffet food that wasn't good. BUT the friends and the talking was great! We did hit up a local bar later to have some nacho's!

And the house remodel is coming along!  We have a working NEW stove in!  And Rick is building the bar and the tile to go on top.  Can't wait to see it all completed!  We got a killer deal on bar chairs and a glass back splash that is going to be stunning!

Have a GREAT Weekend!
