The third installment of my must reads on this mothers day is Mommy Power: Discovering Your Mommy Strength. Now just tell me you don't want to be that mom on the cover <----? Oh yes I now have my very own Super Mom cape I think the need the rest of the outfit!

The author Dr. Sheila Schuller Coleman sure can be called an expert in our mommy wold. She is the mother of FOUR (4) boys in seven years! Yup only have 2 boys I know how run down I get and to add 2 more of them I think I would need all the super power strength I could get ... :).

Sheila has a wonderful way writing stories of the trials and tribulations of raising her children. From date nights to grandfather babysitting and being worried can her dad handle it knowing her mom did most of the child raising. Of course it turned out all right but as us super moms know he rather than go off our veered plan we rather just cancel. Each chapter teaches us little lessons and helpful tools to push forward and find our inner mommy strength.

The Mommy Files, Secrets Every New Mom Should Know (Book Review)

And now for my second book to celebrate Mothers Day! As a mom we try our best to find our moms and search out places that can help us one that I found was SheKnows.com. A great place for parenting, mom and women questions. Together with Jen Klein they present The Mommy Files: Secrets Every New Mom Should Know (that no one else will tell you!).

My second addition for you today is a great book that again brings humor and practical advice every mom should know. One of my favorite parts was the She Knows Secrets. One of my favorites was: For most women, it takes months and months to lose the bay weight. Well I'm going on several months past that but hey I like that I'm not alone :).

One that I know always hits me the hardest is people "advice" She Knows Secret: People's advice is simply that-it's not a judgment on your parenting skills. Now isn't that hit you to the core! Along the way there are even some great quotes from mom's just like us! We're not alone, some how it is just nice to see it in print :). Plus the crayon doodles on the pages and cover age remind me so much of home. And that hand print makes me laugh as I look up from my computer at our French doors leading to the dinning room with a HUGE streak, a nose imprint and oh yes look it's a face looking at me too like a caged animal about to pounce on me ... lol

Momover: The New Mom’s Guide to Getting It Back Together (Book Review)

Happy Mother's Day everyone for this special day I just had to share some fun books that can really help our mind body and soul (mines the one that keeps screaming for frosting off the cupcakes in the other room). Instead of eating the frosting I'm reading a new book :) Momover: The New Mom's Guide to Getting It Back Together (even if you never had it in the first place!).

A blend of Mom and Makeover comes this new book by Dana Wood. We all need a little boost now and then and you know my rule and a little laughter and we all can make it threw the day. Each chapter brings you to real life things we deal with after becoming a mom. At the end of each chapter Dana has a worked for me page. A usual book full of great tips and a great twist of humor thrown in.

Some of the suggestion I wish I could have like the help, as she calls it a Mary Poppins kind of feeling. I know the help can really help we may all not be able to have nannies but the theory that we need help is something we need to take to heart!

Thursday DVD Review ~ Bring Back Old School

Some how it was a no mom DVD or Instant TV watching :). Some good kids films and one for Rick. Enjoy, I think I have some mom ones coming this weekend so next week will be better :).

Now I was a little worried if the boys would like this since it's not cartoons and have funny things. BUT they loved it, it had such vivid and beautiful colors and a great documentary on the animals and what and who they are. The boys LOVED it and watched it over and over, this may have to be one I have to buy to that is when Rick gets a job ... lol.

Under the Sea: IMAX

Ok so I don't know how it happened but I have Jurassic Park 1 and 3 at the house. Yup totally skipped part 2, so Cole has been begging to watch this one. Being the great mom that I am that knows the needs of must have DVD's I picked up this one :). I think I may have to buy it or the may revolt ... lol :). Cole tells me it's SUPER cool mom!

The Lost World: Jurassic Park

As most of you know the boys are HUGE dino anything fans. When I saw this on the instant download I got all the seasons and Cole almost flipped a lid when he saw it. Cole LOVES the theme song I hear him singing it over and over! Nothing like teenagers that can turn into dinos :). GREAT movie for the kids.

But with great power comes great responsibility -- and in this case, that means saving the human race from extinction. This was the boys pick of the week. Scooby-Doo is always a big hit no matter what but we haven't seen this one yet. I usually pick them up at Target they always have the Scooby-Doo DVD's for $10. But this instant download to the TV has saved this mom some money, plus Cole is a wiz at figuring out how to work the Wii remote. Great movie for the kids!

This is Rick's pick of the week. He has found my love of the instant download to the TV. And his kind wife uploaded his favorite TV show from when he was young. Yup this boy has been up late catching up on shows he's missed. Now this is not my cup of tea for picks but have to throw in his stuff.

Thank you to Yoplait I was given the opportunity to try out their new greek yogurt. I was so excited because my new cookbook had several recipes calling from greek yogurt. Yes my new cookbook was a healthy cooking so I had to pick up some healthy things that I don't usually have in the house.

Now I'm new to Greek Yogurt I know you're all rolling your eyes but I've always heard about it but never tried it until now! I'm trying to be better with my food intake and trying to find new things that are tasty to add a little spice to my diet. The Greek Yogurt was perfect fit with 12 grams of protein and came in great flavors such as Strawberry, Blueberry, Honey Vanilla and Plain. I was so impressed with how creamy it was compared to what I was use to.

So of course I found the tastest recipe I could find and tried it out! OMGosh was it the perfect pairing to my blueberry cobbler. I picked up the plain for this recipe but I've tried the other flavor and just loved it. And you know my favorite TV show Biggest Loser even featured!!

Blueberry Cobbler w/ Greek Yogurt Topping

Blueberry Cobbler with Yogurt Topping

1 cup fat-free Greek Yogurt

2 tbs confectioners' sugar

2 pints fresh blueberries

2 tsp orange zest

2 tbs light brown sugar

2 tbs ground flaxseed

1 tbs whole wheat pastry flour

Topping

1/2 c old-fashioned oats

1/2 c whole wheat pastry flour

1/2 c packed light brown sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp ground cardamom

1/4 tsp salt

1/3 c trans-fat free margarine, chilled

2 tsp ice water

Preheat oven to 375F. In a medium bowl, mix the yogurt with the confectioners' sugar. Refrigerate until ready to use. Place the blueberries, orange zest, brown sugar, flaxseed, and flour in a a large bowl. Mix well to combine. Transfer to an 8 x 8 inch ungreased baking dish.

Place the oats in a food processor and pulse until a chunky flour forms. Add the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, cardamom, and salt to the food processor bowl and pulse 2 or 3 times to combine. Add the margarine and ice water, then pulse 7 or 8 times, until pea-size crumbs start to form. Do not over-mix.

Sprinkle the topping over the fruit and bake 35 to 40 minutes, until the berries are hot and the topping is cooked through. Cool 5 minutes. Spoon the yogurt mixture over top and serve.

ALEXIS NOTES: I used YoplaitGreek plain flavor, I of course didn't have a orange zest so I used a little orange extract, I bought the flaxseed in the bulk section so I didn't have to have too much and ran out of whole wheat pastry flour so I used my whole wheat white flour by King Aurthur.
