Sorry everyone been yet again busy day! I left work to go pick up Cole and of course a quick trip to the grocery store! Oh did I mention I signed up to make cookies for the church bake sale? And it's do tomorrow AM??? So of course I need to pick up a few items.
I stop in at the church to see what time the cookies need to be there and have to answer a few questions for becoming a member. I have a class they have you attend this coming Sunday that is 4 1/2 hours! The lady is so nice and I really enjoy her but of course this would be the time the boys started to fight and scream! She was nice asked if we have date night, or time for us ... I didn't want to laugh out loud and be rude. So I tried my best Martha Stewart look and said not usually. Then on to the bible class, now I love going on Sundays and helping out but I'm not in the place for these yet. I keep politely saying it just doesn't work with our schedule, but I have a feeling this may be one thing they don't let you not attend. I hope this is not the case.
Then to Wal-Mart where I raced up and down the isles while the boys were not in wonderful moods. I couldn't find Molasses and found they don't have it. I'm about to pull out my hair when Rude Lady #1 walks by and shakes her head that the boys are being loud! REALLY was that needed??? Then I walk up to a cashier(Rude Lady #2) light on no light! Right on I hit the jackpot! WRONG ... I put my items up there not one word from her? Then I put up my cloth bags up in front on my groceries. She pushes them to the side and starts putting the items in the plastic bags. I nicely say I put my bags up there and she then grunts at me!!! She then rings up my total and very unpleasant told me the total. Not once smiling or being nice. She then pushes my stuff to the side and looks up smiles at the person in line now behind me. And says "Hi How are you today" a full smile (I won't mention the teeth) ... Really now you get a personality.
Then off to QFC for the molasses they didn't have at Wal-Mart. Quickly ran around nowing I won't have much time for dinner since I'll be baking I go to the deli for a quick dinner for the boys. This is where we meet Rude Lady #3 ... lucky number 3! Who so nicely walks up to my kids who I know aren't being good, I've talked to them several times and can't wait to duct tape them ... JUST playing! She then proceeds to walk up to them and tell them be quiet and use your inside voices. NOT once looking at me and giving that knowing little smile, nope just walking away shaking her head.
Oh you people kill me! Either you never had kids, or forgot what it is like to be frazzled trying to run threw a grocery store with all your limps attached and not too many embarrassing moments trying not to kill your kids!! So a friendly reminder be nice to those poor moms, they really are trying their best and believe me they rather be shopping with out their kids also. But we don't all live in that perfect little memory you have hatched in this dream world that your children A - would never be like that or B - Never would a child with you act like that! So get off your high horse and give that mom a knowing smile!
Phew ok off to baking until my head explodes! :)
stopping by from SITS! great post! stop by

ReplyDelete:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Smiling at you!!
I would love some goodies. and I understand stressed and crazy, I just realized it was THURSDAY.
ReplyDeleteCome on people welcome to the real world! Good luck baking!
ReplyDeleteNo one can force you into Bible study, lol. If they say it's not negotiable, I would decline membership. I'm very strong in my faith, but I do NOT approve being forceful with it. I hope it works out for you!
ReplyDeleteWas the person in line behind you a cute guy? I hate that crap. You'll be rude to me but bend over backward being nice to the guy behind me so you can get a date. RUDE.
I'm sorry you had so much rudeness in your life today! Sending you positive, happy vibes!
I remember growing up with 4 brothers....let me tell you there was never a calm shopping trip lol. We got all sorts of dirty looks. It's okay momma...karma will bite them in the ass!
ReplyDeleteNo she di-int tell them to use inside voices! It's not like you were in a funeral home or a hospital, for Pete's sake. What is wrong with these bishes?
ReplyDeleteI despise people like that. I much prefer the nice mommies who look at me and tell me that they have had those days. That lady is lucky it wasn't me. I would have walked up to her and told her to use her manners and who did she think she was talking to my kids like that? And then shook MY head. Wench
ReplyDeleteWhat you said about "Not to mention the teeth..." has me cracking up!
ReplyDeleteI always remember having two thirteen month old apart kids in the store, so I am very patient and tell the moms its not as bad as they think, and try to relax!
Spa time lately?
I hate when people act like that! Like it isnt already stressful on you as it is!
ReplyDeleteWell, gee. Didn't you know that everyone can rear your kids better than you can.
ReplyDeleteSheesh.
That's what they're all there for. 'Cause their kids were ALWAYS perfect angels.
(are you impressed I used all the variations of there in a sentence?)
I've been lucky so far that people don't do that to me when my kids are going nutso. Maybe it's because I always seem to look hostile. I don't think they want to mess with a ticking time bomb.
ReplyDeleteYou showed GREAT restraint with the rude people. I had the same thing happen a few times when my kids were that age. Don't worry, they are probably grumpy about everyone's kids, except their own.
ReplyDeleteThey must have very unhappy lives.
OMG girlie ((HUGS)) I'm telling you some people just don't get it :)
ReplyDeleteI would've been sorely tempted to just kick her in the shin while saying 'In Our house that is the INSIDE VOICE'
ReplyDeleteThat happened to me at the library, except it wasn't my kids making the noise. They had just gotten off the computer and we were leaving, and she walked up to them and was NOT nice in her tone of voice. I was PISSED! I called the library when I got home and spoke to the manager. It's bad enough that they think they need to speak to the children themselves, but then to refuse to even acknowledge the mother puts it over the top. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteYou should call the store(s) and file a complaint!
i hate it when a stranger takes it upon their self to scold someone elses kids... SERIOUSLY... it's just so rude..
ReplyDeletehave a good wkend though!!
What a crazy day for you. When I was home visiting my Mom we were in the store. I had one of those carts that has the car on it so your child can drive. We come around and a lady is standing in the way. My says very nicely, "Excuse us" The lady then shakes her head at my Mom and looks her up and down rudely. Little did she know I was there and I said, "At least she ask you nicely to move and was not rude." He husband says, something to me and boy I go off on that man. I mean you do not mess with my Mom and get away with it. I would have shocked those ladies if they did that to Alyce. I know bad but she is my child...
ReplyDeleteGood thing I don't get out much-I'm sure I'd have the same thing happening to me! I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I promise I'm one of those 'knowing smiles' people! :-)
ReplyDeleteAre we all that self-centered that we can't step outside of ourselves for one instant and see that a smile could just be what someone needs?
ReplyDelete=)
my husband always asks me what the big deal about taking the baby to the store is...if he only knew!
ReplyDeleteOh what a day you had! And that rude lady #3 scolding your kids like you were invisible...I'm impressed you had such restraint with those people, I might not have. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a crappy day! And all because you were trying to do something so sweet. Don't worry, you will be rewarded in the end.
ReplyDeleteYou know my hugs are coming your way!
