Going Back to School

As we enter into this new school year it makes me think back of years past.  Time sure does fly by doesn't it?  I swear I just blinked and Cole was just entering First Grade and and Caden was rambunctious 3 year old driving mom nuts while she tried to work (well somethings will never change).

The boys were ready to go when Tuesday came they were bouncing off the walls.  NO REALLY bouncing off the walls, I was thinking I needing to add some bubble wrap so they would at least bounce off with out hurting something ... or wait I mean themselves. HEHE as you know I find that humor makes the days go instead of tears.

We hit up great stores like Staples to get us prepared for the LONG list that was given to us for our community supplies.  It's funny even when I was away in Canada all the commercials I saw were reminding me that I needed to go school shopping.  But it did ease my mind that Staples was showing that they had GREAT deals.  I mean who wants to break the bank when you send the kids back.  I almost had to take out a second mortgage to pay for the clothes. THEN you tell me I need to buy enough supplies for the whole class.  Thank God we hit the sales and walked out with out that second mortgage .. lol.

And since the throw back pictures are all the rage and I'm such a trend setter. Said the girl who so has a pair of doc martins from Jr. High hoping that the trend will cycle back .. yeah good luck on that.  I had to pull out the photos of the boys from a few years back.  Cole was just entering into Kindergarten and the little monster was 3 years old.  REMEMBER I work from home and a 3 year old at home with me makes for crazy arm waving mom.  You know while I'm on a call for work and covering my mic hoping that will make him be quiet. YUP I am one woman show of jokes.

See this cute little thing was what would roll (yes roll) by me as I would be working.

I'm so excited Staples has asked us to spread the word about going back to school in style but NOT breaking the bank.  We will be showing off our new backpacks and a Kindle Fire the kids and tutor are excited to read some new books on.  Shout out to Dad for the Amazon Prime that will allow us some awesome books to read.  I wanted to give you a little teaser to lead up to the dramatic post (ok in my head it is always fabulous written with no run on sentences .. but hey at least I go out with a bang).

Thank you again Staples for the amazing opportunity to spread the word.

First Week at New School in the BAG!

As some of you may know the boys have been attending faith based schools (Cole since PreK to 3rd and Caden K).  When it came time to enroll them I had to step back and really think what was best.  Cole was having a hard time in 3rd Grade, he was being bullied by 2 kids and the new teacher that also teaches 4th and 5th just didn't gel well together.  We had several problems and you know about the science fair how that turned out.  Cole was not wanting to go to school, since it's a small school the 2 kids that bullied him would always be in the same class and follow him to all grades. UNLESS one leaves, and it turns out that one leaving would be us.  NOW don't get me wrong Cole is a handful, with issues sitting still and needing more one on one time I totally know how it goes.

But what do we do, we bought this house as a bankrepo to fix it up and sale before the kids go to school (that was 10 years ago). Market crash etc and here we still are!  So I wanted the kids to go to private to not be in the school next to the house.   I was torn all summer long on what to do.  A few weeks at the end of summer, Caden bugged me to go see our old neighbor son who moved a few blocks away. I got a hold of his mom and we set up a playdate by chance she asked me about school etc.  I'm so excited the boys will be going to her house before and after school and since she is in a different school same school district.

Tuesday was our first day!  I took off the morning to get them to school meet their teachers and gave the teachers their gift.  It was perfect place and the people where so nice.  I'm thrilled to say that Cole came home saying how much he loves his new school and teacher and likes that she only has 4th grade not other grades to teach.  Giving more attention to him and his class, perfect for him.  Class size is small also around 20 which is a little more then the 16 he had before but really it works perfect.  Yes it's the first week and I'm sure we'll have things happen, but I thank God that it seems to be a good fit.  Cole also told me that he wants to be nice in class because he doesn't want to disappoint his teacher, may also help she is young (24) and very cute :).

Where The Wild Things Are Kindergarten Play Night

The school year has gone in a blink of an eye and we come upon the last 5.5 days left!!!  I'm a little sad at how fast it has gone.  Caden has grown so much and he has been thriving in Kindergarten.  He is reading books all by himself and writing stories along with drawing me great pictures!  Our graduation will be next Friday so I'll try to hold the tears until then!  But I must be that crazy mom that shares some of the fun photos of our play "Where the Wild Things Go".  It only last about 10 minutes but the kids did great and where so proud of their hats they made all by themselves!

Sorry a little blurry didn't have time to download camera
you would think my iPhone did better pics but it never does :(

Hope you have a great day!
And to any of my readers effected by the horrible weather my prayers are with you all!
