Now to Organize the Laundry Soap

On my organizing whirl wind of the house, I tackled the laundry room cupboard above my washer and dryer.  I was looking threw pintrest the other day and found an idea I loved.  Putting your laundry soap in a fancy glass container with a spout to make it look more elegant.  Now I found this idea on Your Little Birdie's site, she used her homemade laundry soap which I believe is probably thinner then the brand I used.  I found this container I bought also leaked :( so back to Target I went and got a different one.   You can also adjust the rubber part on the back of the spout to let it flow better.  This is a simple idea but I really love this look when I open my cupboard.

What you need:
Glass Container with Spout (Target, Hobby World etc)
Laundry Soap (Homemade may be the best since it won't be as thick)

Clean your glass container and add the laundry soap.  You can let it drain and then into the recycler went the laundry soap container.  Next time I may even try to make my own laundry (don't worry I'll show it when I'm done).

Happy Tuesday!  I have a few more fun organization things to come!

Sick Guilt

Do any of you get the Sick Guilt?  I do I hate being Sick, I feel like I’m letting people down.  I feel like I’m not pulling my weight and then worse when someone has to step in and pick up your slack.  It’s horrible when you feel like you can do what you need and then to have to rely on someone else makes me feel even more guilty.  Then the list of things to do piles up!

The Laundry is piled up!

House is a mess:

And the part that upsets me the most is missing work.  As many of you know I work 6 days a week and have for about 5 years now.  I don’t mind Saturdays are easy it’s just 3 hours and it’s before the kids get up so It’s not big deal.  I hate letting people down so I don’t take that day off for much, it takes a lot for me to take a day off.  It’s also because I’m a nut and have a fear of someone else doing my job.  I use to work for a plastic surgeon who let you all know EVERYONE can be replaced which means not be too safe with your job.  NOW I have an amazing set of bosses and know they take amazing care of me but of course the little voice in my head (plus the big one called my husband) say don’t get too comfy you work virtual they don’t see your sick or need time off and you can be replaced.

operator

Fast forward to this week, week 2 of this cold … and NO VOICE!  Which can make for some problems when my job is calling people, making 60 to 70 calls a day you kind of need your voice.  And we had a huge event this weekend that needed confirmation calls done for.  No voice means Alexis is benched from the calls we had to call in the replacement.  So I had to take care of myself and rest for a WHOLE DAY.

Lot’s of Rest and Tea:

What happens when you take time off work?  I of course get freaked about what if the other person does better then me?  What if they like this person better then me and replace me?  I know it’s crazy to think like that but something in my brain always does it to me.

Am I the only crazy one?  Or do you feel the same way when you call in sick?  Do you think of money lost?  I’m a contractor so I don’t have sick leave so my mind always goes to that.

Then because it’s my life, when the going gets tough you have to have a few rocks throw at you … insert drum roll please!  Some joint & belt goes out on Rick’s car on Monday.  Oh yes the quotes are coming in around $650.  OH yes when it rains it pours here.

So there you have my week … hehe.  So how do you handle being sick?

thank you Google Images for the pictures above. alp

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Hair, Laundry, Party and just a little Screaming

I had a GREAT week at work and super busy, which is wonderful and I'm loving it! I love this because I have a little me time on Fridays. Which means time to get my hair done. I so missed my apt the week I got laid off, and my gal who usually is at least a month out was able to get me in! It was great to read a book, and I'm loving the new highlights!
Saturday it was back to work, put in a few hours and then time to get ready for a birthday party for a girl in Cole's class. So I decide oh I have plenty of time to tackle some of that laundry! Really what was I thinking! I think I made a dent, doesn't it look like it (see picture below). And for Daffy @ BATCRAP CRAZY here is my purse, I told you it was bigger than my head! Who needs a diaper bag when you have this baby. Guess what Rick actually picked it out all by himself for my Christmas gift last year! Then I realized what time it was, yes I was still in my PJ's oh crud I need to get the boys dressed and oh yeah me too!
We head over to the bowling alley for the party that had a really cute miniature golf course attached. I thought wow what a great idea for a party, so I asked! $20 per kid, heck we had like 20 kids last party ... quick math holy crap that would be like $400, no way! So of course my lovely husband wasn't feeling well so I had to take Caden with me. Oh so fun, well that was until he had a melt down towards the end. I even took him over to McD's while they had lunch with the party.

Ok some fun things I just have to say about the party. First off why is it woman must give other woman dirty looks! Crap I here with my kids so are you can we be friends for like an hour? Tried talking to the one dad (usually I totally can talk with them) nope he didn't want to have to deal with me. I swear I took a bath! Then I see this poor child and her hair was all ratted thinking oh lord I'm not the only one that forget to brush the hair. Then I see the mom, holly molly ratting overload! Well I guess it's a look right? sorry couldn't get a picture.

So at least Cole had fun loved the bowling and the miniature golf. Caden did ok at McD's and sadly I didn't make any new mom friends. But man I had some great comebacks for the last looks, only they stayed inside my head I was trying on the new no saying it out loud!
Then Saturday night the boys were so wound up and I was going nuts so why not go to the play-center at McD's. Cole was so excited he kept saying we're going to Old McDonalds? LOL didn't have the heart to correct him. The boys played for like 2 1/2 hours and read a book. Oh did I shamelessly say it's one of my current giveaways. Oh yeah I so would! You know you want to check it out, it's Tori Spellings Husband Dean's Ex Wife. Good and funny book!
Divorce Sucks Book Giveaway by 11/8/09
Sunday we had a great morning at Church, met up with my parents at Costco and picked up a few essential things! Even ran into an engineer from my old job, boy it's only been 3 weeks and I miss everyone! I did some cleaning of the boys room, yup it was one of those days again! But Rick and I did get the plans for what we're doing to the house. Just wait for some home improvement post! Now only if I could get Home Depot or Lowe's to let me do a review for them :).

I signed up for what? Oh yeah you know it! I told Cole's teacher I would put together there little workbook sheets. Holly molly you mean I have to tear out each page and group them! Oh boy well I made a dent I did 15 pages ... LOL And oh yeah check out what happens when you leave things were Caden can get them!

Silly Rabbit Tricks are For Kids!

LOL I just like that saying has nothing really to do with anything but I just want to say working from home Rocks! I love having more time with the boys, but it's so funny who ever said you have more time when you work from home is the Silly Rabbit in this crazy world I call life! Since starting working from home last week I have noticed I have less time. It's funny when you have a job that keeps you busy vs. a job that had nothing for you to do. Who would have thunk it no more surfing the blogs and answering emails ... LOL :). I absolutely love this new job but I do find myself being crazy trying to make sure I have it all done correctly and stay up very late to do so.

So what happens when you have less time, yup the housework goes! So I have this new system down. Throw a load in when I get up, then when I break to get Cole ready throw another load in. Then you need to toss the other in the dryer, no problem where doing good. So here is the flaw to my plan when you throw another load in when you take another break to pick Cole up you have to empty the dryer. Well no time to fold so what to do ... throw it in the guest room to fold later. Well then the next load needs to go in to the dryer and you have to unload the dryer again ... what to do throw it on the guest bed again. Are you seeing a pattern here? Yup so I leave you with my guest bedroom bed! I guess it's a good thing we don't have an exchange student this time again!
P.S. Plus a lovely note just because my life is always so much fun! Yup now my car needs new tires! Really!!!! And I know I'm not driving much, but from the looks of it even the little I do to pick up Cole could be dangerous! Oh man where will I find the money to buy those. Ok lord I know there is a plan so I'll figure it out! I have faith it will work out it always does.

Did my cry's for Uncle work? Or was it just temporary insanity?

I don't know what happened but the stars align for a break 6 hours in my life I only had 1 child at home. Our Exchange student's mom came here for a visit and he went to stay with her for 9 WHOLE DAYS. Those who are new to my blog, we've been having a heck of a time with a very ungrateful and sometimes just darn out rude kid. I'm hoping a little time with mom will help with these last 4 mo 18 days and 5 hours and 25 minutes go fast. What do you think that sounded a little rude?? Sorry I just couldn't help myself. Then my mom and dad came and picked up Cole. I was so excited I had big plans, maybe we'll go to the library or do a little shopping. Then I thought no I owe money to the library and to come to think about it we don't have any extra money for shopping. Heavy sigh, I guess I will just have to check out what the current giveaways. Yeah you know how hard that was, since I'm so NOT into giveaways. STOP rolling your eyes I'm trying to turn over a new leaf here, one of honesty and hope for a new day. Ok I really need to work on that!
So you know all the fun stuff I got to do was of course dishes, laundry and trying to get over a stomach bug! And now guess what Cole is back and it's like he has to have a double sugar high! I don't know what the heck my parents gave him but he's bouncing, I really mean it off the couch, off the bed and any other piece of furniture that "gets" in his way! So that peace and calm I felt for 6 hours is long gone and now all I have is crying Caden and screaming Cole. Yup that is their new names from now on, Pinching Roy will be back soon too! Maybe I can just leave off their names and I'll have crying, scream and pinching? Now look at that it's like my own person little dwarfs, hey they are small and they are the modern day 7 dwarfs minus 4 since I might pull out all my hair.
Just a side note since Cole has been home mind you around 1 hour! My antique hat box lid has been broke, since didn't you know it was meant to stand on! My once upon you know 2 hours ago clean front room is littered with toys, Cole's bed has all the sheets on the floor and thanks mom I have fish crackers leading a path to their room. Which would be great if Hansel and Gretel came upon us and needing a trail but come on my house is only 1200 SF I think I can find their room just fine! I'm going to run away for real, where is my trail to the nearest martini?
Check out the pictures of the day!

Check out the laundry (minus one load in the dryer and one in the washer)
But wait I go into Roy's Room and find MORE!Highlight or low light not sure if the stomach or the diet wins yet!
Mom came and filled the Grandma cookie jar, with shortbread cookies.
Lemon Curd, Raspberry and Apricot
Thank you MOM!
Look at this she brought of 2 laundry soaps, 1 Oxclean and 1 fabric softener!
Can I say Thank you enough?
Caden even helped putting the clothes in the dryer :).
And a bonus surprise!
My Bestie Tarra bought me a pair of Calvin Klein Jeans.
Check out this shopper, Start at $89.50, then $53.70 then $30 something and end at $9.99
Rock on Macy's!
And one last prayer to the toilet that the new pipes hold!
I CAN NOT go another night with a broken toilet in a one bathroom house!

But Only MOM Will Do!

Sorry I never got around to posting my funny morning yesterday afternoon, you know didn't want to overload you with laughter.

So yesterday I got up to do my 5am shift for the call center, where I was met with oh so joyful people once more. It cracks me up how rude people are that called into a program requesting information ... HELLO you called us 1st I'm just returning your call. I had one guy turn on some machinery so he had to keep going "What?" "I can't hear you" ... really and your in the retirement age so I know you're old enough not to be pulling stunts like that. A few more calls like that and I'm ready for something new. At that point Caden starts crying, now the deal on Saturdays is Rick will get up with the kids during this 4 hour block. Ok as you noticed I say the deal or maybe I should say a plan that is just a formality because why would we follow thru.

I finish up my call and head to the boys room. Where I'm met with the over powering smell of diaherra, well at least it's not puke! So I purposively (I mean find the only open spot) take Caden to our bedroom to change him. Hoping the noise will give Rick the heads up that he needs to get up and take care of the baby. Well that didn't work he was sick and as usualful as another kid in this house would be to me. So I do the mini babywipe bath on Caden, change his clothes, and give him some water down milk hoping he will be able to keep that down. The start of Day 2 without puke we should be ok, right? I head back to the phone calls to hear screaming from Cole's room an hour later, when the piercing sound keeps coming I finish up and head again to the boys room. Grab Cole put him on the couch with cartoons and a blanket and go back to the calls.

It's quite for a total of 20 minutes before I hear screaming coming from my bedroom! Really why is everyone up at 7am and making so much noise and why is only mom can fix the problem? Once again I finish up my call and walk to the bedroom where I find Caden in a fit of non-stop crying and Cole at least laying down trying to pet his head. I fix another bottle and hope he will lay down with Rick and Cole. I don't even get my butt in the chair before the crying starts again. REALLY?? I march in there to find Rick out his wits end, really wanting to go post and ask him why he can't handle this. Since you know he had yesterday off, got to sleep in and not deal with kids! When do I get a day to sleep in and no kids? But I restrain myself knowing after my shift it's on! I grab Caden and head back to my computer, ok I can do this! I get Caden a toy and start back on a call, thankfully it's an answering machine since at that moment Caden starts puking. NOT just on him, but me, the floor I mean that boy had some amazing aim. Once more I stand up grab a towel to clean up the floor. I undress Caden run a bath and babywipe myself. Quickest bath known to man and we're dressed and I'm back on the phones. Mind you one handed since Caden is resting on my left side. You know how hard it is to type with one hand while holding the phone?

Someone was looking down on me because Caden fell asleep and I put him down on the couch. Finally peace and quiet and I only have a little over an 1 1/2 left on my shift. About 1/2 hour later Cole decides he needs to come out here and while I'm on the phone go "MOM .... MOM", when I shoot the death look, he continues with "MOM". Then a few more questions, I have a stack of cloth table mats that I throw at him. This doesn't detur him he keeps going, I'm trying to get off the phone but he just was lonely and wanted to talk. I wrap up the call and chase Cole around and of course wake Caden up at the same time. Could this day get any better? Guess not because we go over our shift and then hello all 3 kids are bouncing around and 2 of them wanting breakfast. Sure no problem I have puke on me and you 2 want breakfast and of course right now!

I walk into the kitchen to find dishes to the sky in my sink, who the heck did I peeve off? After do the dishes I start a quick cheese omlet for the boys and get Caden another bottle an hope he will lay down this time. I get the boys dished up and while I'm at it why not start a loaf of bread in the breadmaker. I found the best bread recipe Sweet White Bread that is so yummy it's not to sweet just a little to give a little extra. So yummy for the PB&J sandwiches Cole has been eating for lunches. I was thinking it would be very yummy for french toast I make every Sunday, but now then I started to think of the banana's I have that needed to be used. Guess I'll be Betty Crocker (Breadmaker version) and do another loaf. This one is a yummy Banana Chocolate Chip Bread that I used this morning for the french toast, super good! I got a good shot of the Sweet White Bread that I thought I'd send into the recipe website.

After breakfast and bread making and oh yeah more dishes I head to laundry duty. I strip beds and get some help from Cole which is awesome. Then I head to my room where grumpy sick boy is bed and oh so not happy. He finally gets up and goes to work and I start folding and put another load in the dryer and another one in the washer. I think I have done no less then 2 loads per day for the last week and half. Every day I've had to do Caden's sheet do to puke or diaherra (Note to self it might be a good idea to get a second crip sheet, cut down on the turn around need for the sheet ... just a thought). I finally get Caden settled down and asleep on the couch start watching a program and my mother law calls to see how I'm doing. I must say I have amazing friends and family they are have been calling and checking on me and it means so much to me. It's sad that we really only talk to a lot of people of sick or something has happened, I don't usually have time to sit and talk on the phone. When I'm about to hang up a light bulb goes off in my head to remind me that the baby shower (you know the one I made the diaper cake Friday night) started an hour ago. Double crap, ok monsters everyone get dressed we're heading out. I guess a shower probably would be a good thing to, only my family can stand me smelling like puke.

We arrive about an hour and half late, not to bad for 3 sick people and 1 not to happy to be taken out of his room in tow. We last maybe 40 minutes before Cole was running amuke and Caden was fed up. Enough time to have Cole say a bad word a little girl announce it and then let me know that I need to keep him away from her. I look at this 8 year old and then at the mom who is oblivious, so want to say hello he's 4 he's been talked to just go play. She then proceeds to tell the PG mommy-to-be that her 2 year old hit her with her princess wand. Not one word from the mom, nope she was too envolved to look around and say just go outside. Oh yeah it was so time for us to leave when an 8 year old has my blood pressure going thru the ceiling and at this point Cole is having a melt down. Oh joy please let me go back home and lock me up with 3 very cranky kids!

That was my wonderful day in a nutshell, I did work the night shift got a lady who I couldn't get off the phone and then was told to log off 15 minutes early. Really can I cry UNCLE again? Today I know is going to be oh so much better since I've started my 24 hour urine sample. Something is just not right with having to collect this and then keep it in your refridgerator. Ugh ... so doing a deep clean tomorrow on that!

Sorry no picture of the Banana it went to fast this morning.

Really need to check first ...

So today I had a plan to go to the farmers market. I get everyone up make breakfast one to make Julia jealous yet again .... wait for it ... Pop tarts! Oh yeah I know it, I got it going on! So after our healthy meal of pop tarts and toast for Roy (I think the pop tarts were too sweet). We get all dressed and in the car. Rick didn't get home until 3am so I figured us out of the house would give him some down time! We drive down to Puyallup to find that the market is closed? Well there goes that idea, thankfully my friend that lives up the street is home. We stop by, sorry about that Ang she was still in her PJ's. We get a chance to talk and the boys play, well Cole and her son does. Caden is perm stuck to mom and Roy watched Spiderman II. It was nice to talk to a grown up and have most of the kids occupied.

After I visit we hit the Fred Meyer clearance sale, can't beat school clothes that are marked down and then another 60% off! I'm so on top of this school thing, I got clothes and supplies within days of the start of school! Pretty proud of myself its days before and not the day before, I'm sure I'll miss something and do a run the night before but hey let me smile now! Thinking I gave Rick plenty of time to sleep, hey it's 2pm now that should be enough sleep! We head back home. Quick naps for the boys while I do my favorite thing laundry, I think the neighbor slipped in his loads again. How come I keep doing laundry and the pile never goes down? When I figure out the answer I'll let you all know because I'm sure you're dying to know also!

When ever one gets up it's time to go again, you know I don't let grass grow under my feet or the price of gas to let me down. Hey why not money grows on trees right? What it doesn't? Well anyways we head up to my parents house, so Cole can throw rocks, Rick can jet ski and I can sit around having a cocktail right? Well at least the boys get to have fun. Roy actually went Jet Skiing with Rick, I'm sad to say I wasn't down there to get a picture. Mom made an awesome stew that we had for dinner, that was the first time I've seen Roy eat everything! Guess I need to take some cooking lessons from mom.

On our way home we stopped by Fred Meyers because you know I'm a dork and didn't get the Pink eraser when we were there in the morning! Yup just another day in my life, I think I need to go back to bed!
