Hello 36, bringing it in with fun!
I had the most amazing weekend full of amazing friends and so much love! Friday my Tuesday dinner friend was so sweet and planned a dinner for me. She made a great dinner and a HOMEMADE cheesecake! For those who know me know that is my favorite dessert, just a little bite for me but it was DEVINE! And a big surprise she invited my best friend from when I was 9. It was a great surprise and we had a great time laughing and enjoying a wonderful night.
Saturday was a great day too! I got up and worked my shift. Then off we went running, we had Sylvan for Cole. While he was studying Caden and I hit Target to make a diaper cake for babyshower. One of my dearest friends from grade school was having another baby 2 boys and a now a girl!! It was so amazing to see all the friends from school. It was so much fun laughing and enjoying each other! I sadly had to run and couldn’t stay long my dad was watching the boys and I was given 1 1/2 hr window.
I ran to pick up the boys and spend a little time with my parents before I headed home. My amazing bosses called and surprised me with a gift card for dinner! Since I had no luck on finding a babysitter for the night we took the boys with us to our favorite fancy usually date night no kid restaurant. We splurged and had a wonderful bill and when the bill came and I opened it up to see over $100 I almost fell off the booth, thank God the GC more then covered it. I have never had a bill over $60 … lol.
I even started with a bloody Mary, I never order a drink when we go out for the cost (unless with my parents and dad is paying … lol). We even got a appetizer of clam strips. The boys and Rick have never had them and were surprised they liked them. Rick of course got clam chowder.
Then for dinner Rick had Steak, Caden had pasta, Cole had grilled cheese and I splurged and got a smoke salmon fettuccini (that was to die for).
When even had DESSERT, that is a NO NO when ever we go out. All 3 boys had hot fudge sundaes and I had a burnt cream.
It was a full packed day and I think we finally got home around 11pm! Then Sunday was back to the busy go go! Off to the 9am Church Service. And quick to home to do a few things and then we headed up to my parents house to wish my dad Happy Father’s Day. The boys helped me put together a BBQ basket for Rick. Sadly he had to work the whole weekend but it was nice we were able to carve out a little time together.
Thank you for all the amazing friends! The cards and gifts were so thoughtful and just made my day. I am truly blessed to have such great people in my life!

A New Do for Another Year Older
Well I’m back to blonde look! Sorry about the crappy picture for some reason my iPhone doesn’t take the best close up pictures (yes I’m sure it’s the operator but let’s go with it). I did have a nice time talking with my cousin. It’s always nice to talk to someone who knows you and the members who play the roles in your world.
Thank you for my amazing friends who took the time to send me birthday cards. You all are too sweet, I’m horrible with cards so forgive me that it takes everything I got to make sure to get Christmas Cards out. Tonight my Tuesday dinner friend is so sweet and is having dinner for me. It meant so much to me that she wanted to make sure I had a special day. You got to love friends who do the little things that mean the world!
Yes it is true I will be 36 years old tomorrow! This has been a crazy year for me personally. I have thankfully been very blessed with a job that keeps me very busy and takes very good care of me! Rick sadly lost his job but has been helping with the kids. I have been on a weight loss journey and of last week’s weight in down 23.8 lbs. It has been a slow go but I can feel the difference in my clothes. I try to go walking at least 4 or 5 times a week. I wish I could say I’m dropping like 5 lbs a week but it’s a slow go of usually 1 to 2 lbs. I may not be skinny girl by the end of summer but maybe next year … lol. I have to keep it in my mind I’m doing this right and not to let the green little monster in me get jealous if I hear a story on FB of someone loosing 20 lbs a month … ugh. Ok back down green monster … lol. So there you have it a year of craziness but some clarity and needing to better me. Here’s to another year ups and downs I’ll take them all as long as my weight is the down one … hehe!

Weekend Wrap ~ Caden’s 4th Birthday and VBS!
Last week we tried out a new church VBS down the street. I was so impressed with the church and how many young youth they had we even went to it on Sunday. It was a really nice church and all the kids from VBS actually got up on stage and did a few musical numbers!! I think I will be changing churches. Sometimes your lead to something new and I believe this is the case with this new church!
Now to the party! Saturday was calling for rain and when I got up to work my 6am shift it was coming down cat’s and dogs. I said a little prayer and continued working my shift. Thankfully it stopped when I was finished work. My parents took the boys Friday night, I love my parents but I knew this would be trouble but selfishly I knew I needed time to get things done and would take what happened later. My parents will tell you they love the boys are but not the type to take the kids and be able to hang with the craziness of 2 boys! My mom & dad were married when I was 9, so having a 9 year old girl who likes to read and be quiet vs 2 boys who like to run, scream and torment each other well let’s just say it takes practice and if you only take the kids 2 or 3 times a year it can be a little overwhelming!
So Saturday when I arrived at my parents house to say they were a little frazzled was an understatement of the year! As you know I’ve talked about it before my parents house is a museum and little hands don’t do well with no touching (it’s not because they don’t listen or don’t know the word NO like some think, they are kids and of course want to touch). So Saturday afternoon was a little tense it’s fun having the lake parties but sometimes what goes along with it I think can drive us all a little to the deep end!
Onto the party we had a pretty good turn out! The Jello Cups (because Alexis knows no size and got the big cups, let’s just say the shots turned into CUPS and were a HUGE hit, a few guest had more than one. I sadly didn’t get one but I heard they were yummy!
The sun breaked a bit and Rick took the jetski out and pulled the kids behind on a huge float and did pretty good until they hit a bump and everyone flew off. Caden had a fit but we got him in and thankfully he wanted to go out again!
We had Cupcakes dressed up with orange fish on blue water and even got a bon fire going for S’Mores!!! The kids had fun and only were in a little bit of sugar high! We had a few adults that were on chocolate duty oh that’s right they even broke up a few graham crackers to help out, Right Jessica … lol. Have to make fun of my friend and her mission to open the chocolate that had to take another person to open it just to get into it .
We had present time, wish turned into a free-for-all so sorry everyone I have no clue who went with what gift … lol. Doing parties at the lake always seem to not go as planned. AND yes I am the person who ALWAYS complains about parties that don’t have a schedule. I really do try to keep everyone on track but it’s like hurding cats down there! That includes trying to get my dad and Rick to come in off the jetski!
I tried out a new recipe for the cupcakes. I found this Martha Stewart Yellow Buttermilk Cake Recipe with Buttercream Frosting that was very yummy. I had left over buttermilk from yesterday’s recipe of country fried steak, so I had to find a recipe to use it … yes I roll that way! So my fish didn’t come out of cute as the picture. I got to mom’s late and tried to make them up real quick, but had to get the boys out before we had a major malfunction in the day. Let’s just say it included going to Wendy’s for frosties that I thought I put flat on my passenger side seat but ended up with half of them on the seat and the stack of clean blankets I was returning to my mom. YUP it was a great morning!
And for the adults I made Rainbow Jello shooters that turned into Jello Cups because the store only had the large cups. The 9 I made went like hot cakes and I sadly didn’t even get one! These were the hit of the party and I’ll have to make them again! For those who are looking for Jello Shot recipes head over to Jelly Shot Test Kitchen.
JUMBO Jello Shooters

So I couldn’t find the small plastic cups so I used the large cups and they were more like Jello Cups!

Suggested pan: 9” x 13” cake pan, or molds
Yield: about 45 jelly shots
Garnish: Maraschino cherries, if ...
Phew I’m tired now … and doubt that helped my cold … lol. Oh well it was fun. Bickering, Drama and all was a good time!

Amazing Bloggy Friends!!
I wanted to take a few moments to thank my amazing bloggy friends! I couldn’t have asked for better friends than what I have gotten here. You stop by and I’m greeted with your comments that make me smile and laugh. Thank you for not being “readers” but actual people that I can call friends.
It’s amazing the friends you meet here and the connection you have. Some people may look at us like were nuts when we talk about our blog friends some we haven’t even meet in real life. People don’t understand the bond we have with our friends here. They will give you a call, text or email when they see something on your blog. They know you sometimes more then the people in your real life do. Over the years I have gotten cards and gifts out of the blue and for special occasions from these amazing ladies I have met. I want to thank you for your support and friendship.
I have received such thoughtful gifts for my birthday. Post card from their trips to Paris & even amazing Flip-Flop Swap Partners! Thank you again ladies you’ll all so amazing!
Thank you again to Kimberly B (nightowl), Debby (Just Breathe) and Amy (Keeping up w/the Schultz) for the cards & birthday gifts. XOXO
Debby (Just Breathe)

And my Poser Amy for being the Flip-Flop Swap Partner.
Love ya Poser. I promise not to cook a piggy for a few wks … lol
(She’s my non pig meat eater … yup that’s what the pigs are for)
Blessed I am each and everyday with people I may have never meet in real life but feel like I’ve known for my whole life. Thank you again for being part of my everyday life. You bring me smiles and tears with laughter and even if I’m having a funk mood your there! XOXO

Busy Busy Weekend (The one my B-day Didn’t land on Father’s Day)
As many of you saw my post about my b-day already but had to add it in my rap up … lol. I had a rather nice day, I did work but my job is from home so I can’t EVER complain! I did get a chance to get my toes done (She even put a little jewel on my flower on my toe – see below). Flan Rick picked up my fav dessert. Hard Cider which I get maybe once a year and a cute card!! Of course my camera too .
With Summer suppose to be upon us (In the PNW we have been having more rain then usual) the kids play with the neighborhood kids and I hate leaving the door open with the flies. When Cole was 4 wks old I left the house for 2 1/2 hrs to come back to find out my front door was kicked in! Yup we were robbed and the jerk broke my door & the screen door. Well we fixed the door since I kind of needed that right away but the screen door didn’t get fixed until now. Poor Rick I told him to just pick up a screen door he wanted a storm door. Let’s say after 6 HOURS he got the screen cut and fit to our door, let’s just say he would have paid the $30 more for the storm door that was PRE-HUNG … lol.
Sunday was Father’s day, Rick sadly had to work so I took the boys with our church group to take your dad to the game day. The boys love to go and the Rainiers is a fun minor league team. Caden thought he’d keep score, you know in scribbles!
Sunday we also headed up to my dad’s to give him the peanut jar we made for both him & Rick. They played down at the waterfront for a few minutes you know throwing my dad’s expensive rocks into the water … lol.
We are also back to swim class. Sadly our regular teacher is teaching elsewhere for the summer. We had a girl for Caden’s class that just started to be a teacher. Poor thing I don’t think is cut out for teaching small children she was not in the playful mood and got a little pissy when the 3 and 4 y/o weren’t sitting listening to her. They sadly didn’t have fun and either did she. We can hope our next class will go better or it’s going to be a LONG summer!
Happy Wednesday, I’m having problems posted so this will hopefully be up sometime today … UGH.

No Pony Rides but it was a good day …
So yesterday was the the big 35 and sadly no pony rides or jumpy houses. Oh wait I guess we only get those big over the top (cost of my car payment) when your young .. lol. I had a good day, when you get older good is by far a wish come true. I start of the day was a little rocky but it got better. You all know I’m crazy control freak (what I’m working on it). So if someone takes over something I’ve been working on I may just get a little freaked … lol I know I told you I’m working on it. So after getting my panties in a bundle I had another cup of coffee and just said screw it let the person do it, I know I did my part and I’m happy with what I do if they finish it whatever … ok maybe not ok with it but AGAIN I told you I’m working on it!
Rick’s car has been a pain in our behinds for sometime now last paycheck it was brakes and rotors to the tune of $300 … UGH. This paycheck it was a tune-up & oil change to the tune of $200. So this one hour fix turned into 3 1/2 hours he was gone. Thankfully the kids played outside and I worked on catching up on my emails. So I guess I did get some quiet time, not the FULL day I asked for in my list but hey I take what I can get. So I did get some:
Rick got home around 6:30pm and I ran to the salon to get my pedi! Now I didn’t have a cup of coffee (since if I stopped to get it the salon would be closing). BUT the lady was very nice and let me read my book on the iPad in peace. She barely spoke to me … YEAH. I know that sounds rude but I really just wanted to relax. So I did get to do half of this:
Rick got me dinner so I didn’t have to cook! He picked up Alice Springs Chicken & Cheesy Fries at my Favorite place Outback. So I blew the diet but it was super yummy!! So I got this:
Rick said I could order my camera, yeah so I have a working camera . So I got this:
Rick also gave me a very nice card he had the boys sign, my favorite desert Flan and some Hard Cider. I don’t drink very often but I do love a hard cider once a year or so . It was very yummy! So I got:
So sadly no Nanny, no house cleaner, no new body or spanx & no bare minerals. But overall it was a GOOD day, again people Good is just that and you take what you get and cherish it . Thank you again for all the birthday wishes, that meant the world to me. XOXO
