HOLY Roots Batman!!

New year and a refresh of my hair do!  This is the first time since my 20's that I have repeated a hair color / style 3 times in a row. I had so many comments on this style I had to do it one last time. You know you're hair is a hit when you're at dinner and a stranger comes up to you and ask if they can take photos of your hair to show their stylist ... lol made me giggle but it was very flattering.

I know I say this every time but man getting older sucks. When I was young I was always a natural platinum blonde. Now days I have to dye my hair to get that look again .. lol life.

One last time with the platinum and black color!

Have a great day!!

New Hair for my Birthday

I've been so busy with the party I didn't get to show off my new hair do!  I usually go really light in the summer but this time I went in a different direction.  I hit my 38th Birthday 2 weeks back and had my hair apt on that day so I went for it!  I have gotten a TON of compliments on it.  I may just do it again!

Happy a Happy 4th of July!

Here it is when I styled it

Here I am when I left after she styled (more sleek version)

Things that are going on ... Spring Break Yeah!

It's spring break and that means boys home while mom is working from home ... oh yes you guessed it! Mom is about to locked into a padded room.  Thankfully Rick is off during the week for two days so I had some help those days.  So while he is home and the boys are kicking the ball against the house over and over I thought I was going to scream.  So I did what any good mom (insert laugh / half cry) would do and went to Amazon and searched how much a soccer goal would be.  I found some cheap ones but they were small the large one's were rather spendy.  So I went to my handy friend Google Images and searched for DYI Soccer Goals.  I found an awesome tutorial on I can Teach My Child.

The project will come soon, but wanted to share!  We're waiting on the net I ordered on Amazon that will hopefully be here today.  The Goal came together in probably 20 minutes and the boys and Rick had fun building it together.

And Mom needed a little refreshing too.  When I was young I was a Towhead (very white blonde hair), the older I get sadly the darker my hair gets.  So it was time to touch up those roots and get my hair done, feeling so much better ... Well hair wise still fighting a nasty head cold.

Hope you all have a GREAT Day!

I think I had a weekend ...

Well I think I may have sat down for a second this weekend!!  I made the cake and I really liked how it turned out!  I got school shopping wrapped up!  I got my hair done!  Then I worked a crazy amount, we started a new system at work and I had to get it ready for Monday.  Simple it may be but a lot of work has to go into getting it ready.  I'm beat, I spent more time in front of my computer this weekend then I have in a very long time!  I hope to say it is ready to go and I won't be doing that again!  Needless to say I have to interrupt my Monday recipe and will have to post it Tuesday!

Photo: Going to end the summer with a new shorter do! Man hope I can pull this off ... Lol I think I can! Thank u Kari as always a great cut and color!

Be Back tomorrow with a yummy recipe :)

A New Do for Another Year Older

Well I’m back to blonde look!  Sorry about the crappy picture for some reason my iPhone doesn’t take the best close up pictures (yes I’m sure it’s the operator but let’s go with it).  I did have a nice time talking with my cousin.  It’s always nice to talk to someone who knows you and the members who play the roles in your world.

Thank you for my amazing friends who took the time to send me birthday cards.  You all are too sweet, I’m horrible with cards so forgive me that it takes everything I got to make sure to get Christmas Cards out.  Tonight my Tuesday dinner friend is so sweet and is having dinner for me.  It meant so much to me that she wanted to make sure I had a special day.  You got to love friends who do the little things that mean the world!

Yes it is true I will be 36 years old tomorrow!  This has been a crazy year for me personally.  I have thankfully been very blessed with a job that keeps me very busy and takes very good care of me!  Rick sadly lost his job but has been helping with the kids. I have been on a weight loss journey and of last week’s weight in down 23.8 lbs.  It has been a slow go but I can feel the difference in my clothes.  I try to go walking at least 4 or 5 times a week.  I wish I could say I’m dropping like 5 lbs a week but it’s a slow go of usually 1 to 2 lbs.  I may not be skinny girl by the end of summer but maybe next year … lol.  I have to keep it in my mind I’m doing this right and not to let the green little monster in me get jealous if I hear a story on FB of someone loosing 20 lbs a month … ugh.  Ok back down green monster … lol.  So there you have it a year of craziness but some clarity and needing to better me.  Here’s to another year ups and downs I’ll take them all as long as my weight is the down one … hehe!

Glasses are the new black dress right?

Since I don’t think I’ll be getting an eye surgery anytime soon I’ve become obsessed with glasses.  And being the crazy sale person that I am found one site that I could buy glasses with a coupon for a $1 + shipping.  THEN I found anther site that your first pair is free + shipping.  Being the thrifty person I am under each site I logged in as one me and then two Rick so I could get two glasses from each site.  I know but I can’t pass up a deal like that!  So for around $25 I bought 4 new glasses worth around $88 a piece!  Yes for you math wizzes that is $352 glasses for $25!

Let the fashion show begin!

My studious reminds me of a man’s business look.  I’m funny but when I’m home working on web things I like to wear these. YES I know I’m nutty!

My pink blush pair, that are not my fav since they have the plastic noise piece and I think they blend too much with my skin tone right now.  These will be for when I’m tan.

Blogger Pics2

My Pink animal print (inside it’s a peek a boo), which I thought would be my favorites but the next pair actually has turned out to be.

Blogger Pics4

These Blue animal print (on the outside) have become my favorite.  They are super comfy and I love the splash of color I never would have thought I’d like blue but something told me to get them.

On an amazing ending note, Rick had the weekend off for his birthday.  He was SO kind Friday came home told me to go get a pedicure!  I didn’t even say a word about wanting one.  Then Saturday he hung out with the boys while I went grocery shopping ALONE!  Sunday he took the boys WITHOUT me asking to Chuck E Cheese to play for FOUR hours so I could go get my hair done!  It was the MOST (yes a lot of caps because that is how excited I am) relaxing and BEST weekend I have had in a very very long time!

So there you have it a fashion show Smile!  Hope you’re all having fab week! Much LOVE!

Weekend to be Thankful …

What a fun weekend it was like a 4 day break, but I had to work a short time on Saturday like usual but 3 hours was nothing.

As most of you know I spent most of Wednesday after working prepping and cooking and then cooking before my guest arrived for Dinner.  Sadly my dad was sick so he stayed home and my cousin and family didn’t stop by so it was very small with lot’s of food … lol.

If you’re needing some yummy weight watcher friendly holiday foods here are my two post of what I made.

First off I noticed that wow my roots are looking crazy long … then I counted and I was a few weeks overdo for a color.  I gave our cousin a call and she was so sweet and squeezed me in after hours.

Thanksgiving was a great day, my mom and grandmother stopped over for dinner.  The boys even got to stay the night with my parents! Yeah!!

&

Now the stores went and moved Black Friday up to Thursday PM which wasn’t bad it was kind of nice to do it early.  So I put my teenies on and my hat (Well at first the wrong one … lol).  Rick decided to work for his security job they took on security for Walmart shoppers.  That left me shopping by myself.  I was a little nervous to go by myself.  Then by God’s hand I ran into a old friends mom, I hadn’t seen either of them in almost a year.  We said hi and then I went on.  I looped around and again and ran into both of them got to talking and I had instant shopping buddies which was really cool.  So we finished up Walmart & went on to Target.  NOW the only bad thing was Fred Meyers stuck to their 5am so after we tried two restaurants to come to the conclusion who is going to be open Thanksgiving pm, we headed to my friends house for a snack and coffee.  We killed 3 hours watching Son’s on Anarchy, my first time watching.  By 6am I was done with my Christmas shopping.  I finished the boys, the boy at church Cole picked to buy for, Rick and even for me.  Plus I had a pile of things to go back, I have the grab and return later if I don’t need theory Smile.

By Friday I had the presents wrapped and the boys home.  Rick brought down the tree and put it all up for me and even put the presents underneath.  The rest of the weekend was kind of lazy, except Sunday for church and then the boys and I helped decorate the church.  Now to finish up the stocking stuffers and we’re done!

So how was your Thanksgiving?  Did you Black Friday shop?  Is your shopping done?

Summer’s UP and So are the Shaggy Do’s ….

We had a fun filled day Thursday night with hair do’s for the whole family (Well Rick had to post pone his to next week due to we ran over and the barber was about to close).  I scheduled a cut and color for me with Rick’s cousin’s wife.  Usually we do it at her house but today I got a treat and met her at the salon she manager of.  I was able to sit in a chair and read my iPad while Rick took care of the kids.

He decided that he would take the kids to get their haircut (yes the angel’s were singing).  He then called me half way threw my hair apt to ask when I’ll be done .. hehe.  Now hold on you’re going to laugh at this one.  He was frustrated and said to me “Do you know how hard it is to get two kids haircut at the same time” … hehe I think he may have forgotten who usually does this duty and he was talking to her.  Sorry didn’t feel sorry for him … lol.  But all went well he did take them to his gal who was over booked and they had to wait like an hour, mind you I told him to take them down the street to a place that is always slow but hey it worked.  They got cuts I got a cut and color and we’re ready with our fall do’s!

There you go we are ready for the Fall!  Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, I think we may try the zoo again hopefully we’ll leave with all our shoes this time!

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Run Run Run

*****UPDATED****** I went and reloaded the photos again I hope you can see them!!!
FIRST off the delay on this post is that Blogger is still giving me issues posting pictures! Since MOST of my post include pictures it becomes a bit of a pain in the rear. Fingers crossed after I spend the time to type this up you too can see the pictures ... UGH
This weekend was VERY busy and fun, we filled every minute with an activity! I've come to the conclusion that I'm not going to wait for an invite or be turned down to come visit I'm just going to load the kids up and go. McD's with yes is like the seventh level of H**L is ok AS LONG AS we come straight home and bath the boys. So there you have it! lol
Cole's school was on Spring Break last week!
Time to spend with our buddy Jake
Saturday after I got down with work we hit the Lowe's Kid Clinic
YUP FREE every other week!
Then we hit McD's to play!
OK all was fine until this dad came in with 2 kids! They just sat down to eat and then abruptly rushed out! Then Cole comes up to me, a kid pee's ALL over the steps to get into the playcenter! YUP you got it, it was dad that left. Ok I get being embarrassed but leaving NOT telling ONE employee what happened is unacceptable! Kids were walking threw the freaking PEE. So one parent went over talked to a employee to come clean up after like 5 min of me trying to keep the kids from the pee area I went over to talk to a employee. Who then said they were busy, I said well give me a bucket I'll clean it up (heck I wk McD's in H.S. I can handle this!). She then went a manager who then said oh yeah I forgot ... REALLY health Code lady come on! So they send a kid out with 2 towels to clean up this mess ... UGH.
And for the BAD haircut. This is after my mom trimmed the bangs so they were as straight as possible!! YUP Rick let Cole pick his own hair cut ... THE BOWL and then the lady didn't even cut straight or in even spots!
Sunday after Church and a Carnival Meeting ... Did I say that? Yes I promised the new girl that took over the carnival I would help but I WOULD not do anything with the ladies from last year. She swore they would have NOTHING to do with it! There was of course a new lady who was pushy that is helping on other things. She WAS rude Every time someone talked she would interrupt and answer the question. At one point I turned to her and said I will answer my own question thank you :). Then off to Rachael's to play and have a quick cup of coffee.
Then to the 2nd McD's that was all about Dino's on the walls, a T-Rex Skeleton, and a Dino to climb on. The boys loved the wall Murial and Skeleton but the play town was more for little kids and not very big so we didn't stay long. I came home and made dinner then sat down to watch Army Wives ... oh lord yes that is what I look like after I've cried for a full hour of a show. Yup of for my critic who gets on me about being so emotional I do cry at TV :)
So there we have it fun times :). Hope you all have an amazing week! HUGS

P.S. I'm still heading strong at the gym I've gone everyday for the last week and a half! I weigh in tomorrow, prayers are appreciated :).

WWW ~ Busy Busy Weekend & Birthday Wishes

I'm pooped this was a VERY busy weekend no down time or naps for mom ... lol. And today is my 34 Birthday!!! Yippeee ... hehe with Rick still not having a full time job I doubt I will get my birthday wishes. I think I will make myself a low fat Strawberry Cheesecake. And I'll add my fitness wants to Christmas. I'm also saving my penny for my cute uggs, I'm like $30 away!!!

YUMMY!
On the wish list!
I so begging for this!
My cute shoes to come soon!
Poor little Caden hair was looking crazy. Love the bed head? Rick took him for a haircut :(
The quilt is DONE!!! 2 Extra trips to the store we finally finished!! It looks so beautiful and I wanted to keep .. but I packed it up and shipped it off! The quilt is a thank you gift to my bosses for everything they have done for us. (hopefully she's behind on reading my blog ... surprise)
We tied it instead of stitching for time but I think it looks beautiful! With Shipping it came to about a $100 and 4 weekends of working on it. Now I know why these go for like $300, they are worth it people buy it. I can't tell you how much work goes into making one! THANK YOU Rachael for helping me, you're amazing!!! Hehe that's Rachael goofing around under it!
Sunday we went to church and then we head to the Rainers Game for a early Father's Day with the church. My neighbor came along with us, it was a lot of fun. Cole couldn't sit but he did pretty good. He had to sit with his Sunday School Teacher (the pastors wife) a few times. He really loves her! Sad Rick had a interview so he couldn't go but we still had fun. And yes Caden knocked his head once again and had a big bruise. Poor kid has my balance.
And of course after being gone 8 hours on Sunday I came home and baked cookies! I know I'm nuts.

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup mashed bananas
  • 1 3/4 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
  2. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon.
  3. Cream together the shortening and sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add egg, banana, oatmeal and nuts. Mix well.
  4. Add dry ingredients, mix well and drop by the teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 15 minutes or until edges turn lightly brown. Cool on wire rack. Store in a closed container.

ALEXIS NOTES: I made a double batch, and used half whole wheat and white. No nuts. They baked up light and fluffy almost like a muffin. I would only do 11 - 12 minutes.

Day 1 and we're still in school ...

So yesterday was our first day back at school and when I picked Cole up, everyone was smiles even the teacher. I so love that look instead of the look I got previously! We got praise reviews from the teacher, she even told me that Cole was more alert in the AM class! Cole was very excited to tell me that he was line leader for the week! Oh yeah you should have seen how he told me what he says to the other kids. First he stands up and looks them sturnly and starts to shake his whole arm and telling them to clean up there stuff and area and get in line. It was the cutest thing I've ever seen and wish I had a video camera there. I'll have to see if he'll do it for me at home and tape it. So Phew one day down and good reviews!

Since I'm out I make the most of it and run an errand for work to pick up some drawings. Thankfully at this time Rick calls me to remind me that tomorrow is picture day at Cole's school. Oh crap he really needs a haircut! When I run in to pick the drawings up they weren't ready, but guess what is next door. Luck stars were flying at me a barber shop was next door! We ran in real quick and got a $8 haircut, right on! Ran back over and grabbed the drawings and quick drop off at daycare. Of course I can't go in since then Caden would cry that I'm leaving, so with a wave I leave Cole outside ... just playing Grandma Pat was out there and took him inside.

Of course now I have a gap in my day that I need to fill back up, so I run around work getting everything done plus some last minute end of the month items! I of course show up 7 minutes late picking Roy up and yes I noticed the look and sigh I got. After picking the boys up, no Khari tonight we run home for a quick dinner. Hoping everyone is tired and will go to bed early I do bath and have everyone ready by 8pm. I read 3 count them 3 books to all the boys and tuck everyone in to bed. By the time I have a bottle for Caden, Rick walks in the door and I get his dinner to him and almost fall over. Guess it's no time just relax, just enough time to go lie down in bed and fall asleep to some show that I'm sure made no sense since today I have no idea what it was. Got to love TV right?

Now only if I could fall asleep like this ... this is what I found after running around getting ready for bed:

Well at least half the week is almost over, gearing up for Northwest Trek on Saturday after I get done with my 2nd job! One day all the bills will be paid with just one job a piece until then it's get all the money you can! Maybe I'll win the lotto? Hmm ... ok it's a dream well not even that!
