Pumpkin Patch Photo Shoot

Usually on Wednesday I post a recipe, well the pumpkin fudge I tried to make didn't come together so I show the photos from this weekend instead ... lol. A friend of mine does our family photos every year, this year she has been doing a bunch of mini shoots and I've been trying to get the boys photo's done each time. The kids are getting older and I want to capture all the moments I can. We schedule a time to meet at the pumpkin patch and it was like the devil was against me that day! I got stuck in traffic almost 45 min late for the apt (this was only going 2 traffic lights) and the Heaven's opened up and poured on us. But thankfully my photographer stuck around for me and we got some great shots. Here are a few of my favorite! Yes my boys are goofy .. lol. For you located in Washington and looking for an amazing mini shoot (Usually $35) please check out Johansen Photography she also does full shoots for weddings, senior pictures etc.

Have a great day!!

Caden's First Field Trip ....

Caden's kindergarten class had their first field trip on Tuesday!  We hit the pumpkin patch (hint the reason for the pumpkin patch cupcakes yesterday's post).  I got off a few hours early and headed to the school.  This year there are only 8 kids in the school, so we all fit into the school small van.  It was a short 25 minute drive from the school!  We loaded up and hit the patch buddy system in plan!  Each kid even got to take home a pumpkin!  It rained on us and let's just say this mom forgot her hat and may have looked like a wet dog, but hey I had my cute rain boots on!  Here are a few fun pictures of our trip!

We did the Haymaze (only a few panicked faces)

Then to the Petting Farm, We saw:
Newborn Kitties, Sheep, Mini Horses, Chicks, Calfs, Pigs & even a Caterpillar

Pumpkin Patch time!  Hayride there and back!
(Plus my cute boots)

And a Classroom Picture

A little rain didn't hurt us!  What a fun day!

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes

Caden and his Kindergarten class have their first field trip tomorrow to the Pumpkin Patch!  We are so excited I'm working a half day to go with them!  I wanted to do something fun for the class and since the cupcakes I just made for Cole's Class the Easy & Quick Pumpkin Cupcakes with the Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting (recipe HERE for both) just topped different!  I found Gourmet Meals for Less a Pumpkin Patch Cupcake recipe.  This was super easy!

First I made the cupcakes and I had half the frosting left over that I then frosted the cupcakes.  Then on to the decorations!

Pumpkin Patch Cupcakes
Serves 18-24

Ingredients:
white or brown cupcake liners
1 package chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos or a store brand version)
24 candy corn pumpkins
Green Decorating Gel

Directions:
Bake cupcakes according to directions.  Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.  Place one and a half rows of your sandwich cookies into a food processor and pulse until you have fine crumbs.  If they look like a pile of dirt, they are ready.  Place your cookie crumbs in a bowl. Frost each cupcake generously, forming frosting into a nice mound. Immediately roll frosting part of cupcake in cookie crumbs.  To fully cover frosting you will have to also scoop crumbs up and gently press onto cupcake.  Shake off access crumbs.  You will need to do each cupcake one at at time through this step, so frosting does not have time to harden. Top each cupcake with a candy corn pumpkin, pressing it into the crumbs and the frosting.  Decorate with Green decoration Gel to look like Vines coming off the pumpkin candy.

I think they turned out very cute!  I hope the kids love them!

What happened to lazy Sundays?

Today was so much fun we went to the Maris Farm and even though it was $10 per kid for the activities it was SUPER fun we were there for almot 4 hours! Unlike yesterday that was a little on the duller side, today was worth the money! We met my parents and I felt a little like we were doing the Puyallup Fair with the crouds, you could at least walk around with out someone being in your bubble. The food was crazy over priced just like the fair I actually think it might have been a little more, but the package deal for the kids play was great. The kids got to do so many fun things, instead of listing them I'll just bore you with all the pictures :). And as a great side note Rick made it out of bed and on time, yup it was a good day! I would type more but after today I'm beat!

One departing thing that became apart today, well two I guess. One one bathroom and 4 people who rush home to use it are not good odds, dad always wins and momma always goes last. And last thing Dad does not like it when a certain 10 year old let's call him Prince R knocks repeatively on the door saying I have to go the bathroom. This is like poking the bear not a good thing! Now that is my wise words of the day, enjoy the pics.
This is the line for tickets (well after 10 minutes and I remembered to take a picture.

I don't mind the line I have a perfect seat!Of course a spider for our face painting!

Now this is face painting done right & it was free (well included in the $5) take that Zoo Boo
