HOLY Roots Batman!!

New year and a refresh of my hair do!  This is the first time since my 20's that I have repeated a hair color / style 3 times in a row. I had so many comments on this style I had to do it one last time. You know you're hair is a hit when you're at dinner and a stranger comes up to you and ask if they can take photos of your hair to show their stylist ... lol made me giggle but it was very flattering. 

I know I say this every time but man getting older sucks. When I was young I was always a natural platinum blonde. Now days I have to dye my hair to get that look again .. lol life.

Happenings around here! Remodeling, Hair and Taking a Leadership Role

It's been a little wild around our house the last few weeks.  Between the family and all the cakes I've taken on for the charity I work for I'm hanging on by a string!  BUT it's been a lot of GREAT Moments!

First we start with Cole.  As many of you know we have had a long hard ride getting him in the right place with school and his ADHD.  After many years of trying everything we went to medication that he says "helps his head stop spinning".  This year his teacher and the YMCA staff have come up to me to tell me what a total change he has made and the leadership role he stepped up to.  NOW we hired a tutor who was a retired teacher who I thought was the answer to our prayers.  Which turned out to be a nightmare, filling me and my kids with nonsense that Cole will not make it through school.  GRRR there was more and LONG emails about this but I'm moving on and not letting her bring us down!

For the kids bikes, Rick and Cole built a shed.  

Then on to the house remodel!  Rick got a killer deal on carpet so we prepped the front room. Rick was working two jobs so I ripped up the carpet all on my own (and paid for it for two days .. lol).  Rick and Cole painted the room a nice shiny brown with white on the chair railing Rick installed.  We even found a great deal on a flat screen we put up.  The front room really came all together!

Then we moved on to the dinning and kitchen area.  The old flooring is the light colored we put in when we first moved in 11 years ago.  The darker warmer is the new floor I picked out.  I just love the feel of it.  We found a $180 chandelier on clearance for $40 plus an extra 10% off for being a floor model!  Then we found a fridge on clearance for $300 off!  Oh yes it's been a blessing of deals for the house!  THEN we found out the floor was discontinued and we weren't able to finish the boys rooms with it.  But on a whim we hit up a discount tile and flooring store and there was a stack of the flooring we needed!  Oh yes and on SALE lower then what we had already paid.  

And my 20 YEAR high school reunion is the weekend so I had to get a new do.  I went with one I have never done before.  Blonde on top and black on the bottom.  Oh yes black never thought I'd do it, but I love it!!!!

More reveal's to come.  The kitchen is getting new cabinets and a new stove.  The boys room with get the flooring and our room will get new carpet.  NOW prayers that the house will appraise for what I owe so I can re-fi.  

Spring hasn't Sprung ... So we add color to me

Spring just isn't feeling like it right now and I just needed a pick me up!  My amazing cousin is a hairdresser on on her day off she let's me come over so she can do my hair.  With Rick gone the boys were able to play while she did my hair.  Of course 4 kids always lead to no peace but we made it through it.  So I gave myself a new blonde do and for fun we added some peek a boo pink on the side!  I thought it would be fun, heck I work at home so I don't have to worry about a dress code why not?

Weekend Wrap Wednesday ~ Fall Hair, Play Date, Apple Farm & Boy Time

Another fun weekend here, I've been fighting off a cold so sorry I haven't been around and trying to recoup and have some down time.

Friday was my 8 week hair time. I went in with tired hair and came out a bit darking then I was planning, hoping it lightens up soon. And holy crap I can't take a good shot of myself with out a double chin look ... YUCK.

Saturday work and then some house work and then off to a playdate at Rachael's house. She is always helping me out with my projects so I made her some of the famous caramels. It was such a great visit and Cole was on his best behavior really I don't think we've ever had that good of a visit! She was so sweet and is going to not just fix the overalls but make new ones. The ones I bought not only were dirty and worn spots but not sewn together very well, sadly a bust. A quick run to Walmart $15 later and were ready for a new look :), I'll show you soon what they look like. She was going to work on them later so we could just spend the time talking and having coffee ... how sweet is that??? LOVE her!

Sunday after church we hit the Apple Orchard (this time it was picking season) and we got two HUGE bags full for $14 (I figured it would have been about the same price as Walmart but fun for boys). Got to see the chickens & Goats.

Then it was fun boy time. Cole had fun doing math with pretzels! He's good at math like me, spelling not so much (just like me). Then since we were in the car so much so fun shots of the boys!

I'm hacking up a lung now so it means time for me to go bed :).

got2b New Smooth Operator ~ Stepping up My Style

My hair is just loving me these days! Not only did I get it repaired I added got2b Smooth Operator to the mix. It was the smoothest cream you can apply to damp hair. I applied it

right after I got out of the shower, then blowed dried my hair out. Talk about soft hair! It not smoothed but help with fly aways and the best protected my hair against head.

I don't know about you but I use one of the curling irons that you can pick a heat on. I crank mine up almost as hot as a salon curling iron. Be ware when mom is getting ready :).

I've used and loved got2b over the years but I truly think I've found a new love! Along with all of its good qualities you walk out of the bathroom with hair that has a shine "lustre" to it! You don't need to use much about the size of a quarter so a bottle would last you a long time depending on how often you style your hair.

BUY IT: I looked at my local drug stores from $3.49 to $6.29.

Before I tell you all about my lovely new hair!!! I have to start with an amazing giveaway I won about a week ago. Ok now onto me, I know who knew I could go that long with out talking about myself. So today I was able to get my hair done. I'm so excited I'm going back to blond! Plus I had to show off my new purse, and yes I couldn't do that before I had my hair done. Oh stop rolling your eyes, I can see you!
